just so you know Nichole Brown Simpson was born in 1959 and Dave Chappelle was born in 1973. That means when Dave was 18 (as he said he was when he 1st met OJ) it was 1991 and Nichole was 32. I think it's safe for a 32yo woman to call a fresh faced 18yo new comic "adorable". For reference, 7 years after his 1st meet with OJ, he was in the movie Half Baked in which he looked very young. Odds are he looked very baby faced, cheery and innocent at 18.
Yes, Dave was part of a young comedians special when he was about 16-17, I think. He was very young. I think its on YT. He does a funny bit about getting robbed delivering pizzas.

If you're interested in learning a little backstory about Dave, he did a special called Unforgiven. It's less of a comedy show and more just him standing on stage and telling the story about his experiences with Comedy Central, and why he ended up quitting Chappelle's Show. It's absolutely fascinating.
Tucker had done the Rush Hour and Friday movies and then his career hit a wall and he became pretty religious so his stand up changed, Dave walked away from a multi million dollar contract with Comedy Central and he disappeared in Africa for awhile, so they both dropped of the celebrity map at that point.

@@smoothplaya6696 Dave was on an episode of Inside the Actors Studio (a show that normally talks with actors about the acting process) shortly after he got back from his Africa sabatical. It was the first time he really opened up out what happened and why he left and it was fascinating. I saw it at the time and it was one of those moments where you really see a celebrity in a new light, and know he/she is WAY deeper and intelligent than the surface level. I recommend it highly.

This was a great special all 4 story’s were actually spaced out through a whole special genius and than he finished the show and came back to tell the forth story which of course was planned out like that

This trial was so prevalent at the time my school (I was in 6th grade) stopped everything and pulled the TVs out to see the verdict. It wasn’t because of the content of the trial, it’s because it was still fairly new to see a trial on TV. So educators took it as a teachable opportunity. And boy did I learn to never be a millionaire and get in a police pursuit in a car worth less than the cash in my wallet.
the third encounter has to be one of the best set up jokes in the history of comedy, he spends several minutes putting you on OJ side just to hit you with the "that ni¨¨a did that sh¨t" curve ball

9:59 I can understand being a bit put off by people not laughing at a comedy show, but I'm also someone that usually won't laugh. It's not that I'm not enjoying it, it's just that I tend to withdraw inwards in crowds of people. Like at parties, I'm a wallflower and I don't talk much and people assume I'm having a bad time because of it, but I'm having an amazing time. Only thing that ruins it is people insisting I must be sad or mad because I'm not being loud.

Dave had a deal with comedy central to split profits 50/50..The show made 500 million dollars. but they only offered him 50 million. he refused and quit the show. that's when he went to Africa.

O.J. was obviously just in that restaurant to look for the "Real Killer". The people in the front that you were reprimanding for "not having a good time" might have been the "Real Killer" and the LAPD detectives who set O.J. up...allegedly...or Dave's agent and their family and friends who might have heard these stories before.
Dave said that the two of them were allegedly "missing" (I think Dave was either supposedly in rehab or was "renegotiating his contractual obligations"). And, again, O.J. was at the Kentucky Derby to look for the "Real Killer" because he had probably figured out that the killer had to be taller than his ex-wife and her friend, Ron, but short enough to not be able to reach the ice cream on the counter to put it back in the freezer, therefore it had to be a jockey on a horse that did it.
If my memory is correct Comedy Central wanted him to keep doing the race jokes or even take them to another level and Dave wanted to branch out and show that his show could be more than just race skits and that started the divide between the two.
He basically said he did a a prescreening skit and to him it felt like producers or whoever were laughing at him, and not with him.
Dave Chappelle left the Chappelle Show because he was promised half of the profits the show made. But he wasn't even given a quarter of it. And after he bounced the executives got pissed and paid the media to label him an insane crackhead and had paparazzi following him around at all times so he went to another country. He went to Africa specifically because he wanted to learn about his roots and embrace his people's culture.
