God bless you, The Lord has used you to add a great deal of blessing and enjoyment to my life. Bill Henderson- God Bless!
Just bought me a auger kinda like you have using a Dewalt brushless small drill we have many rocks and roots here in the Ozarks first hole i dug got my drill ripped out of my hands!!! Had to turn that puppy down!!!!
Thanks for the demo.. I see lots of folks make that set , but you seem to explain it a lot better.. Keep'em coming !!
Thanks for making this video. Just getting in to trapping this year and your videos are very informative. I even ordered some caven’s baits and lures based on your recommendations
Good luck this year!!
I hope you show if this set gets you a catch. Interesting to see the placing of the sets to the harvest. I realize not every location will be successful but it will be educational to watch start to finish.
I've been trapping maybe five years and still learning every day. This is a really great instructional video. Carolina Coyote, how far is the center of your trap pan from your dirt hole? I trap in GA and the guy who taught me used the 9X3 rule. 9 inches up from center of trap pan and 3 inches to the left is the hole.
Enjoying your channel
Thanks for the video I’ll be ready for trapping season here in PA I’m getting all my gear and tanning supplies traps Baits etc over the next few weeks
Heck yeah! Make sure to follow me on Instagram and send me pics of your catches and I’ll give you a shout on my story!!
@@CarolinaCoyote sweet!!
thank you like your advice
Nice vid man
Great video. Where did you get your trap and bait and lure?
I love dirt hole set and I set my trap with levers at 12 and 6 o'clock and my dog at 9 o'clock
That looks easiest enough for me to give it a try. We have a gut pile area on our land that is frequented that may make a great starting spot
I'll try out your mixture....
Where do you buy the chain with the shock spring extension? I have found plain steel cable extensions with anchors, but nothing like you have there. Thanks again..!
Look in the description! Everything I use is linked there!
I am a new trapper and what is a night latch
What brand auger do you recommend?
What Kind of Camera do you use for your video?
Where do you get those chain anchors?
F&T
Nice! No rocks
Great video, only question I have is how deep a the trap set I just started trapping yesterday and I like the idea of a dirt hole set but I’m afraid I’m setting too deep?
With dirt hole, flat, and scent post sets, you want to have your pan as close to level with the rest of the ground as possible
@@CarolinaCoyote Thank ya for the quick response, I definitely have mine set a little too deep, I’ll fix that in the morning
Good luck!!
Great video! Much appreciated! Quick question, do you not use coyote pee around the set? If not what’s your reason for not doing so?
I use coyotes urine all the time!! Mostly all canine species mark their food when they bury it
@@CarolinaCoyote thank you. I use it as well but I’m in the early and frustrating stages of trapping.
You’ll learn more with every trap you set! Don’t give up just keep on grinding it out
Good info here. I just started following.
I have a channel where we show hunting coyotes and hogs but our problem is they are way too intelligent and become smart to the calls.
So our coyotes population is out of control so we are gonna start trying some trapping.
My question is what is the bait concoction that you use. I didn’t see it in the description.
Thanks
Hiawatha Valley Bait and Gusto Lure. Both are made by Cavens
My soil is rocks and clay
What size auger are you using. I can’t tell if it’s 2 inch or 3 inch.
I have a 1.5 and a 3 inch. 90% of my sets I use the 3 inch on
@@CarolinaCoyote Thanks, I only want invest in one. I appreciate you getting back with me.
@@olehemlock absolutely! I’d highly recommend the 3 inch. If you don’t already have a drill, I’d definitely go with a hammer drill
What size auger and shock springs?
Check the description!!
You click on the links and there's 3 different kinds of each
4 different size springs and 3 different size augers
Scooby ok with this?
How often does a set need to be redone or rebaited?Like after rains or several days with no luck?
I only rebait the set 1 day after it rains. I'll remake the set and typically only put about half the bait and lure when remaking the set. The old bait is still in the bait hole and the coyote can still smell it, it's just not as strong after it rains and won't draw them in a easily without topping it off with a little more.
I have family at Bragg. Where are you in relation?
The polyfil is cheaper if you just buy a shitty pillow.
I run 90% dirt holes. That's what the majority of catches come from
How can I get your phone number? I’m in North Carolina about 60-80 miles north of you.
