You can only watch Star Wars the first time once (some people grow up having _always_ seen it and not remembering a first time). This is honestly the safest and best order for new fans.
Personally, I kinda like 4, 5, 1-3, then 6 (maybe some of the side films in between if your victims are accommodating).

I love that you’re watching Star Wars! Hope you check out the Clone Wars micro-series at some point too. It ties veey well into the films but is usually overshadowed by TCW
That series is super under-rated. You wanna do Samurai Jack in the Star Wars universe with a huge budget and zero fs given about the concept of a target demographic?
The Vader vs Obiwan fight gets a lot of flack for being "bad choreography" but it's the second most realistic fight in the franchise. A certain fight from Rebels is the only one that tops it. If you watch what it looks like when people do lightsaber fighting competitions, it looks a lot more like that than it does the over-choreographed dancing you see in later movies. There are also people who do demo fights and performances based on that stuff and it's cool, but it doesn't look anything like the actual competitions.
Plus, the actors kept trying to go harder, but they had to tell them to slow down because the props were super delicate in the first movie.
The restraining bolt acts like a shock collar. it allows the owner to temporarily shut down the droid if it isn't complying.
One of the reasons for bad lightsaber choreography was the lightsaber props kept snapping on each other when making contact. They ended up trying to lightly tap eachothers sabers; they didn't get better props until the next movie.
CGI as we know it did not exist in 1977. The couple of scenes with the cartoonish CGI were added in the 90’s

There was no CGI in 1977, however a lot of effects were added by CGI in 1997 for the Special Edition.

I know you mean "effects" when you keep saying CGI, but most of the effects in this movie are practical or analog. There are a few very obvious CGI things that were added in the special edition in the 90s and they stand out like a sore thumb. But like the lightsabers and blasters and all that were done by a combination of mechanical props and essentially hand-drawing glowing lasers onto the film.
People these days take things like this for granted, but at the time, it was RARE to have special effects in movies and another level of rarity all-together for them to look halfway decent. I used to watch my VHS of these movies in slow motion and marvel at how some of these effects looked.

Pacing is bad,? This is one of the most tightly edited movies ever. Nothing wasted on any scene. Also, your audio must have been bad as the voice audio is very clear in this movie. Anyway
Princess Leia was deeply saddened at the loss of her home world alderan.... But you have to understand this is warand whether it be sci. Fi or real life in warthere is often no time for grief.
Movies were just slower paced in 1977, hell, life was slower paced....

If you notice there's a female pilot in Rogue One. That was actually footage that was filmed for episode 6, but they thought too many people would be mad about a female fighter pilot in '83.

@@EduardoMartinez-rs3bu my point was that she was filmed for the OT, but they didn't put her on screen until 30 years later. They had another female character, albeit super minor, and cut her for fear of too many women making the audience uncomfortable.

So you gonna watch the clone wars too 👀 it's 7 seasons but trust me its worth it. And if you watch that you should check out rebels, the bad batch and tales of the Jedi/Sith as well. Oh and visions isnt canon but almost each episode is made by another studio making for some interesting animation styles and stories.

That one robot at 4:43 is literally a mcdonalds trashcan that they turned into a robot. They had to be very resourceful to make all the practical effects
This was a 100% practical effects movie in 77 and for he whole trilogy. I had CGI added in 97

1. Sir. Alec Guinness/Obi-Wan didn't want the part. Being a Shakespearian actor, he thought the entire idea was silly and was beneath him, but his wife talked him into taking the part.
2. The shrug Chewy gives Luke after he scares the tiny black droid is 🤣
3. These movies were put out in a certain order because there was limited technology and Lucas used and pushed forward the images needed to make a quality product. The best way to watch the is in the order they came out. We had to wait years for the next one. There was no internet where we had access to them whenever we wanted.
4. No need to go into anything after VI. Disney took over and the quality dropped. I realize you have to watch them anyway.
5. The only CGI was put in for the 25th anniversary package in this film are the critters the stormtroopers were riding at the beginning of the search for the robots, a couple of the huge critters outside the pub and the scene with Jabba the Hutt and other minor changes. Those were put in later after CGI was available. Otherwise, everything is what we had in 1977.
6. Obi-Wan sacrificed himself after he told Vader he would be stronger than ever. He went back into the force. He knows it's Luke's job to take over.
7. The awkwardness in the detention space is because Ford didn't know his lines. It was kept in the movie anyway because it worked.
8. The next two are the best of the six Lucas films. Enjoy

There was no cgi in 77’
Lucas added cgi effects into the original trilogy when the movies were rereleased for home video.
The saga has gotten new changes and added effects every rerelease. The dvds, blu rays, and Disney plus added even more changes.
In fact back in 77’ you couldn’t even get a computer, they had to build the camera system from scratch using custom built microprocessors.
FYI Darth is not a name, it’s a title. Example: Darth Maul, Darth Sedious, Darth Vader.
Stormtrooper bad Aim is used on Main characters.

This movie was expected to be a major flopp by the producers but made over 3.2 billion at the box office adjusted for inflation
Anytime you question how a character who knows how to use the Force was able to do something, the answer is: they used the Force. How did Obi-Wan sneak around the Death Star undetected? The Force.
The lightsaber choreography was weak in this film because the technology behind the lightsabers hadn't been worked out and when the two sabers hit each other they had a tendency to break. This was greatly improved with each successive film.

That's Vader's 501st elites in the opening. They are on a COMPLETELY different level to normal troopers. The empire was all about mass production and low cost. Minimum training. Minimum equipment. Minimum everything. That's what it takes to rule an entire galaxy by force. You have to spread resources thin. But Vader learned to lead back in the Old Republic when the troopers were extremely well-trained. AND he got to hand pick the best of the best.
I reccomend you react in 4,5,1,2,3,6 order. It’s best if you end the 6 movies by watching the ending last.
