    2 things to note next time with a cylinder head like that. Use a granite or marble tile they can be bought at lowes or home depo. Even tile companies for counter tops also can cut you one then tap sand paper to it and use it to resurface the head and cylinder deck. Then on the gasket use copper spray on both sides of the gasket with even coats. Let set for 2 or 3 minutes then install gasket and head. Should not have any problems with leakage lol. Just a helpful tip.

    Yes, by all means complete yer video! I'm doing the exact same job on a 1981 GS850L and a 1982 GS1100L. There's no way to get around all the gasket issues etc on these bikes but, its all worth it. They are good running bikes. Good job Gold Guy!

    CRC Gasket Remover is the only chemical that works on those old gaskets. Also the Roloc will damage the gasket surface if you get too crazy with it or hold it at an angle to the surface.

    You should finish the 850. I would say keep the 850 so you have a nice bike to ride on the street and mild offroad, and sell the TS-185, but it might not be the best. The 185 is designed for offroad, and you do have the CB750 for street, and the 850 can get you more money for other projects. I quite like the Suzuki 850,but its your call to decide what to do with it

    You spent some money on that thing plus some of your own time. Not that you did anything wrong but you coulda got the cylinder and head machined to get rid of the pitted surface and reassemble a perfect fit. Hope to hear that run soon. Unusual build but I think what you had done is cool and a eye catching bike. Good luck and keep a twisting that grip.

    Look bro, before life comes calling and you become a slave to the grind, enjoy everyday you can. This seems to be your passion.. Don't wait 10 years than look back and say, " I wish I would have finished, or did this or that." I have a 1979 complete Honda Goldwing sitting under a tarp in my driveway that the former owner was going to restore 10 years ago... He passed away last year .. Mind you he was in his 70's, but his sister said when he got sick one of his regrets was he never finished the bike... GET GOING, so you can go camping without having this on your mind....

    Depending on the type of sink that is. You should use it to do acid/chemical baths for your stuff.
    Make something for a quick release for the brain plug. That would have helped when you cleaned your gas tanks.

    • @zekemead
      @zekemead 5 років тому

      maddmaxx636 Yeah, might want a location that is a little more ventilated then that laundry facility... and also not sure that stuff should be washed down the drain... I’m sure the label would say.

    • @maddmaxx636
      @maddmaxx636 5 років тому

      @@zekemead Of course, He could get a small box fan and put it somewhere (Idk if there is a window near or a door) to get the fumes out. For the braining, That's why I said he could make a brain/quick release for it. Have a valve to drain it all into a special container. Maybe filter and reuse some of it.

    dude. remember i told ya it seemed like we were playing tag? well now its my turn for this on my 850....started off when i made a hard pull... ever since that, it sounds like its got a severe miss... so put the colortune in and seems like a weak spark on just 1 cyl and compression test numbers are varied between 125-150 (with and without WOT)... sometimes itll come back to 100% while riding then back to brup brupp idk hard to explain. maybe ill post a vid or message me if ya wanna see my zuki on facetime or somthin... i get a TON of compliments and never had an idea they had such a following but tbh i dont think mines that cool esp not as cool as yours!
