That's how the guppy item works, because cats have 9 lives.
But you respawn with like 2 HP or something.
@@Imslandar with 9 lives you respawn with 1 heart container (or 1 soul heart as Blue Baby, or nothing as the Lost), with Guppy's Collar you have a 50% chance to revive with half a heart (or Spirit heart as Blue Baby) but keep all your previous heart containers (which would be none as Blue Baby)
If you take The Ankh you respawn as Blue Baby with 3 spirit hearts. 1UP you always respawn and you respawn with full health. Revive items also always trigger in this set order:
1. Soul of Lazarus
2. 1UP
3. Lazarus' inherent extra life
4. Dead Cat
5. Inner Child
6. Guppy's Collar
7. Lazarus' Rags
8. Ankh
9. Broken Ankh
10. Judas' Shadow
11. Missing Poster
12. Birthright (as Tainted Lost)
So if you have 1UP, Dead Cat, Guppy's Collar, and Ankh, 1UP will always trigger before everything else and Ankh will always be the last to trigger. Essentially, it always prioritizes keeping you as the same character as much as possible with the exception of Birthright which acts as a 1up for Tainted Lost. Ankh, Broken Ankh, Judas' Shadow, and Missing Poster all revive you as a different character (unless you are already that character).
Also of note, if the Chance Revives fail (Guppy's Collar, Broken Ankh) other revive items will then take effect if you have them.
It's pretty ridiculous that even this run wouldn't have been good enough to beat Delirium with Lost if he hadn't found extra lives too
You have to be so insanely lucky to beat delirium with lost, not lucky in terms of your item I mean lucky as in you have to hope and pray he doesn't hit you with some bullshit unavoidable damage

I looked at the wiki and did the maths.
Provided all tears hit the enemy:
Soy milk is a 1.1 damage multiplier
Almond milk is a 1.2 times damage multiplier
For reference,
Crickets head is a 1.5 times damage multiplier
Almond milk's random tears effect means not all tears will hit though
Yeah the item on its own sucks, its the synergies that make it great
its a little bit better than that because of the way boss armor works more tears at a low damage are better than less tears at high damage even if the dps is the same

Fun fact: delirium only turn into bosses you previously fought
It is TECHNICALLY possible to get to delirium and not have him transform into other bosses, but you'd need Mama Mega, the shovel, Star of Bethlehem, and a chaos card. Dig until womb 2, use mama mega, get to it lives, pass them to Hush, get a double tap with chaos card to instakill Hush, then you'll need to follow Star of Bethlehem as it will always lead you to delirium

Dead cat actually does let you get hit 9 times during The Beast, there are no other rooms to teleport you out to so you just teleport mid fight and it keeps going
During the neast fight you respawn in the same room (similar to lazardus)

@@sasquatch.8 Just be careful because it'll teleport you to a random spot in the room and with most enemies taking up a good chunk chances are you'll get fragged

Almond milk is nice until you get Brimstone, in which case it's VERY nice, until you get a Curse of the Blind Ipecac.

In one run, I found brimstone, then almond milk, then moms knife. I also had blood oath and bozo (bozo usually caused a rainbow poopy to spawn after getting hit from blood oath) so my damage was massive because of all the max hearts I got from the eternal heart generator book I had.
