I miss your website also. I discovered it years ago when I was raising bettas. It is uncanny how much of our interests and hobbies overlap each other. The wealth of information contained on your website was invaluable. Thank you for the website and your videos.
I miss your website! I used to spend hours and hours at a time on it when I was in high school. I still went back once in a while and I see it's gone now.
Unfortunately, I had to take it down. The server was introducing errors faster than I could fix. But, it had a good 25-year run with a total of 50,000,000 views so I can't complain. I apologize for not replying sooner, but I just got home from a long stay in the hospital.
Here's a list of New Home serial numbers and their corresponding dates: ismacs.net/newhome/manufacture_dates.html I hope this helps. Unfortunately, we donated our machine to the local quilt society so I tell you where the serial number is listed on your machine. Thanks for writing!
National usually stamped a serial number onto the machine's base under the front shuttle cover plate. Unfortunately, there are no serial number records for National machines, so dating can be a problem. Even identifying which model you have is difficult because National used so many different names, even for the same machine. Your best bet is to visit Needlebar: www.needlebar.org/main/national/index1.html And see if you can spot yours. I have been able to track down a few serial numbers, which may allow you to estimate when your machine was made. 618,854 = 1895 1,111,005 = 1910 2,314,288 = 1913 3,299,867 = 1922 These dates are from images of machines showing their serial numbers from websites that also give a date. I have no way to verifying how accurate they are. Thanks for writing!
Hello, I have this Paveway sewing machine. How do I find the serial number so I can date it? In its current condition, the hand wheel does not turn. I’d like to research this machine before I start disassembly. Thanks! It’s similar to a 1910 treadle machine I’ve seen on another you tube video. This one is a table top with a wood case.
Hi! And thanks for commenting! The serial number for National Paveway machines is stamped into the edge of the base under the front slide plate that gives access to the bobbin. There are no lists of National serial numbers and their corresponding dates, so dating them is almost impossible. Complicating things is that National had different serial number systems for several of their model lines. For Paveway machines, here are the few numbers I've been able to find: 1,111,005 - 1910 2,167,857 - 1913 2,314,288 - 1913 3,299,867 - 1922 I hope this helps. Good luck with your restoration!

I miss it too, but the server it was on was having so many problems I was no longer able to correct problems.
@@wayneschmidt490 I'm so sorry to hear that, but thank you so much for all of the interesting things you shared with us over the years.
Wayne, did you give up on your website? I noticed its no longer working.
