i have the kindle scribe and still haven't been able to get it to load PDF's. Somewhere down the road I'm looking forward to it - since I have several large work related docs I need for reference. I tried emailing (after setting up my work email as "allowed') with no results. I truly wish you could just plug in a USB drive rather than the janky setup in place.
I have had that issue before, which is why I have just uploaded a video sharing how you can quickly upload PDFs to your Kindle Scribe without using email. Hopefully, this video will be helpful for you: ua-cam.com/video/x6J9HoN8NF0/v-deo.html
The scribe is not as large as I thought it would be. I was hoping it was as big as my iPad Pro which is 10.5 inch. The difference of 0.3 makes a big difference.
I agree with your comments about the screen size compared to certain other devices on the market, so I thought that the following update may be of use to you, given that the BOOX Tab X has a 13.3" display. The brand new BOOX Tab X has recently just been released, and for reading PDFs, it seems to be a much better option than the Kindle Scribe. For a closer look at the BOOX Tab X, please feel free to check out our latest videos where we not only unbox and review the BOOX Tab X, but also directly compare the BOOX against the Kindle Scribe. I have the scribe and wish there was some way to increase the contrast on a pdf (non-converted version). Even though we now have a larger screen, many PDFs are not readable due to this issue.
I agree that some of the settings are quite limited. There seems to be only the options to: change the brightness or warmth settings: or select ‘dark mode’ to invert black and white which might, in certain cases, help with readability.
I have one right here too, a 64gb. I haven’t opened it as yet because I might send it back! Lenovo has just brought out a yoga paper that seems like more suitable for my use.
The Lenovo looks interesting. The are meant to be a number of companies releasing eWriters in the first quarter of 2023. So, if you don’t have an immediate need, then it would be worth waiting to see what is coming out.
Great question! I have just uploaded a video dealing with this, hopefully that will help answer your question. Rotating PDFs on Kindle Scribe: ua-cam.com/video/CYN86F3whz8/v-deo.html
I have the first gen remarkable, and it's ok, but getting pdfs on it is sort of cumbersome and there is not light. for me, a built in light is a HUGE improvement for my old eyes. Yea, I know, there are clip-on lights and stuff and I've used those in the past, but this is a game changer and I'm switching to scribe for reviewing pdfs and marking them up. Thanks for review.
When you send your scribe a PDF though the email, Amazon makes a copy of the PDF and then converts it to a kindle exclusive format and vice versa when you email it back. You never actually write on the PDF. Also, regarding Boox devices, while I can’t speak of the UK customer service I’ve been using Boox devices for three years now and have had great service experience and have received more updates for Boox devices than I ever have received for my kindle.

Do you mean put it into the reader? He talked about that at 6:49. Then you send it back to yourself. But I think it's permanently transformed into the Kindle format.
After watching so many writing pads, I realise you are locked into some kind of system or other and pay for a monthly subscription. I can do without that sort of unnecessary expense.
Yes, you don’t need a subscription to have a Kindle Scribe as you can just send documents to it to read. You can either upload documents or purchase one-off books from the Kindle Store. For the avid reader, Amazon do offer a Kindle Unlimited subscription, but again it’s not mandatory to have that if you don’t think that you would benefit from that membership.

I can read pdfs in landscape mode in my kindle paperwhite. They removed that option in the scribe?
Great question! I have just uploaded a video dealing with this, hopefully that will help answer your question.

hi, silly question: you can only make notes on the paper white, not mark it in any way like on this new one, right?
Does the kindle scribe with 300ppi make a tangible difference to the reader experience compared to 220ppi?
Is it possible to place my PDF document there via USB cable (without internet)?

You didn't show page flipping on the PDF. Is it slow? fast?
