Volunteer Point, Falkland Islands - A Day with the Kings Penguins!

Whether you are visiting the Falkland Islands for the day during a cruise or exploring by land, a trip to Volunteer Point should be very high on our list of things to do in the Falkland Islands. This is a very special place and one of the few where you can spot King Penguins in the Falkland Islands. Our day trip out to see the king penguins was a highlight among highlights of our two week trip to the Falkland Islands.

We were there in February. The road is very rough but I still took pics along the way. Penguins were not overly sold.

I flew to the Falkland Islands via Chile on LATAM, there are also RAF Flights for those coming from the UK. I found the prices to travel here similar to traveling in Europe or slightly less expensive in some places. Accommodation is around £100-200 per person per night (season depending). A dinner was around £15-35, pack lunches were often included or available at the lodges. Tours could be £50-200+ depending on the destination. Hope that helps a little bit!
