Kristen Bell wanted royalties for her appearances. A perfectly reasonable thing to ask. Musicians have been fighting for royalties for decades, and get screwed constantly by the big bosses. I have nothing but respect for Bell for sticking to her guns, and asking for what she deserved.
I honestly don't get why they didn't just recast the character. After all, Desmond changes faces like five times before the end, so why not Lucy?! Missed opportunities everywhere in AC.
Not to be that guy, but for a video game, that your not even the main character for in modern day or the past, you shouldn't get royalties. I thought the same as you at one point, but asking for royalties from people who never said anything about royalties in contracts or when hiring you, you can't get mad you don't get royalties. Again, side character, a more important side character but side character nonetheless. Musicians ask for royalties because they do all the work, and distributing music works differently from distributing videogames. It's a shame she felt the need to leave and it's a shame ubisoft fucked up her storyline just to what feels like spite her but she didn't truly need nor did she really do any work in the grand scheme of things. No programming, modeling, animatin, writing, directing, she spoke with emotion and got paid, it's what she signed up for.

I really liked how Machiavelli was handled in the game. In history, he very much admired Cesare Borgia, and the writers didn’t throw that completely out the window for the Assassin/Templar conflict. All the things he’s talking about (Cesare’s cruel efficiency and how he gains and keeps his power) is quite in line with how Machiavelli viewed him in real life. He was also historically in Rome doing diplomatic work for Florence around the same time this game takes place, with some business in France. Finally, in Embers Ezio mentions one of Machiavelli’s plays, which he wrote a lot of when he was banished from Florence after the Medici returned. Superb research from the developers. Edit: His outfit in Brotherhood looks really cool, and his robes in AC 2 were obviously referenced from portraits and his statue at the Uffizi.
I genuinely don’t think that Ezio killing Rodrigo would’ve prevented the attack. Rodrigo himself even says it wasn’t his orders to attack, it was all Cesares. If anything it would’ve made retaliation even more likely
19:52 Idk if it counts, but perhaps you could count the AC1 line "What they want is good, but the way they go about it, is bad, real bad" as foreshadowing, showing that she does think the Templars are, in a sense, working towards a noble goal. But after I learned in the Clay lost memories in AC REVELATIONS how she was actually an Assassin foreal, but simply got swayed by Vidic, due to the fact the Assassins kinda abandoned her, I think the line is just a factual objective description, and not denoting how she truly believes the Templars are people striving towards a noble goal, but just using the wrong means.
“I think this is the only time the series has done that, where it starts with the end of the game” no they did that in the first game as well, you confronting Al-Mualim but the connection in unstable so they drop you back to just before Altair is demoted.
See, I heard someone else have a different interpretation. Remember how in AC Unity, Arno had to take those hallucinogens to join the Creed. The theory is that this is something Al Mualim also employs, but just that the hallucinogens he uses are way less stronger. He essentially indoctrinates his initiates by promising them riches or women or something, and basically claims he can bring them to paradise. He does this by dropping them in that garden with all the women, and having the initiates be drugged out while it happens gives them the impression of being in Paradise, and believing Al Mualim to be some miracle worker. There's a chance he either A. Does this to all Assassin recruits. Or B. This is a type of ritual he does to new Master Assassins (to ensure their loyalty once more).

I saw this on a reddit comment and I thought it was a better option to kill Lucy off rather than her being a Templar double agent. It goes like this, the Templars find the Assassins while Desmond is still in the Animus and there’s a big shootout where Desmond gets shot and his mind gets corrupted which sets up the stage for Revelations while Lucy gets gunned down by the Templars. Rebecca and Shaun are then in a panic and struggling to find out what to do next.
Man i love the Brotherhood robes both from a design perspective and iconic angle since it's almost a Legacy outfit in other AC games but i'd say that the Revelations robes are my fav. Darker tones should be the standard as Assassin's robes goes, look at Thomas de Carneillon, Shao Jun or even Naoe
I recently played the Ezio Collection on Series X, the 4k, 60fps and HDR support really brought new life to these games, compared to when I played them on the 360.

I have to agree that Brotherhood is a perfect sequel, even if it's not everyone's favorite of the Ezio trilogy (though it is mine, and probably my favorite of the series). I'm looking forward to playing through it again after I'm done replaying 2 during those times that getting through Valhalla is feeling stale.
Naoe has a pivot blade but as far as we know she doesn't have a fire arm. But it also never made sense to me why assassin's should have a hidden gun. I mean a gun makes alot of noise so it's not really stealthy and i don't see the benefits of having a hidden gun. I mean you can carry a regular gun and hide it in your clothing. Having it hidden underneath your forearm isn't really practical as you first need to make sure every part of your hand is safe. And if the gun fires in a wrong way you could lose a hand or have a bullet in your arm or the bullet scrapes your arm. Or hand it isnt really safe or stealthy. Unless they use a hidden gun in a similiar way to Shay's rifle it doesn't make sense to use a hidden gun.
I would say 2 has my favorite main Ezio outfit but I go back and forth between 2 and Brotherhood for the best main outfit. Revelations main outfit is great as well. Armor of Altair is probably the best overall outfit in the Ezio Trilogy.
