She is so beautiful inside and out. When she spoke about her father dying from lung cancer, she was so graceful in her sadness, it was heartbreaking. It made me cry. What a beautiful person
Chirsty's demeanor is so pleasant, calm & cool. Her interviews and practical insights are very inspiring for young women growing up. She's truly waaay more than just a pretty face!
She is simply the meaning of beauty I have never seen a more beautiful smart amazing woman Good for you Ed Burns . Your a very lucky man indeed. Congratulations to you both .
I’ve watched everything about Christy nowadays and i became a huge fan. How someone can be so beautiful and so kind same time? She’s down to earth even being one of greatest super models of all time.
Christy 😇❤ is beautiful inside and out. She is very intelligent and educated: graduated with honors 👩🎓 with a bachelor's degree and a master's degree 👩🎓 in public health. Very creative and inspiring lady: created and produced the documentary called "no woman no cry." 💁♀️ christy 😇💙 is an amazing woman and humanitarian 👌
She's not really salvadorean, but she must share some of the culture her mom passed down. Probably ate sone pupusas and I know she went to La Libertad with her mom
@@lotusssypringa She is half Salvadoeran, her mom was full. Yes, she's absolutely American but she has Salvadorean blood in her. But no matter what she is, she's lovely inside and out.❤️
Christy has always been my favorite supermodel. I always admired that she went on to get her masters when she could've easily lived off the money she made modeling. An interesting fact is that Christy's sister is married to Ed's brother! I don't know which couple married first but how rare is that?
I love Christy... one of my fav of all time.. but i can't believe she didn't like the modeling world in her generation saying its the worst time to be a model. A lot of models today would DIE to be in her modeling generation days. Those were the days of the supermodels and they were idolized. Versace hires all the biggest girls for his shows and its so great to see all of them in his shows.
Maybe because she was part of something that had never existed before. Current generations have that reference to a fashion era that will never return. Models today have them as references, it is impossible to be yourself.
Someone called Christy Turlington a "fashion industry anomaly" and that person may be right. She was discovered at the age of 13, and being so young and with so much money it was easy for her to go off the rails (just look at Edward Furlong for a name). She lived her best years in fashion, she made a mountain of money that she invested in her education, at 25 she enrolled in a university, and now she is a girl who promotes healthy living. It really was touched with a magic wand!
This shows that no matter how much you earn and how glamorized you are, you will never feel fulfilled because it is ultimately meaningless. This is probably the reason why she wants to do something where she feels it has real meaning.
That's a very rude, arrogant and thoughtless thing to say. Her career certainly didn't fulfilled her but that doesn't mean that others can't find fulfilment by having a successful career. For example, Noami Campbell, which is also one of the original super models, still runs on catwalks to this day after over 30 years since she began modeling. In her case it clearly fulfils her or else she would've stopped a long time ago. Who are you to call this "meaningless"? Your comment is the only thing meaningless here. In the end everyone has to decide for themselves what's meaningless or don't.
You're right, everyone does what they want with their life and she simply had fun until she reached an age where she simply stopped having fun. It seems like a very glamorous job, but I know people who do this and it is definitely not a job to stay in for a long time. Christy changed her mindset at 25 because she decided to broaden her mindset. To be fair at that time she was dating actor Jason Patric who wasn't too enthusiastic about that world, that was her definitive push.
She didn't used to be my favorite supermodel...I guess i thought she was too angular or something. But maybe I've changed, I think she is just gorgeous. And wow, such a great person. So lucky.
Turlington’s a pretty great lady. Yeah, she’s amazingly gorgeous, but she’s very intelligent, educated and uses her fame for the public good. Her documentary on the dangers of childbirth is one everyone should see.
Making a comment on that she said "the images they hold up of the 80's and 90's are cringey" and outdated. She was right to say that with the big shoulder pads and over made-up look and the BIG-NESS of everything, yet all that style since this video was shot came back into fashion around 2018 onwards! Fashion always goes full circle! ~some of your comments are 8 years old and the 90's has definitely had a fashion resurgence in late 2000's early 2020's!
Gianfranco Ferre would turn in his grave if he heard his era labeled as "drag" nvm the fact that it is poor taste to use the term "drag" as an insult when many drag queens can be beautiful in their own right, implying that "drag" is trashy
@@SirJamestheIII For God's sake, can no one say anything anymore without someone feeling offended?! So much culture of "political correctness" is making us all frantic.
@Gia818Babe I agree with you completely. And those girls from that era still hold up today. Today's models are all nameless, faceless mannequins. They don't hold a candle to Christy's era.
likethepear. Don't ever be jealous of anyone's life or career. God made us all different. You're God's beautiful work in itself. Never underestimate that.🙏❤️
After everything that is appearing in the industry with the rapper Puff Daddy, you realize that people like Christy are what is needed as a role model, no idolizing, we have already seen what people who have too much power are like. But... Christy is another kind of public figure which is what doesn't exist right now, but I hope she comes back.
I love Christy and have always been a fan, but it's kind of insulting for her to say the fashion and modelling industry in the late 80's/early 90's was the worst time to be a model. Considering it featured some of the greatest designers ever (Gianni Versace, Karl Lagerfeld, John Galliano, Yves Saint Laurent, Dolce & Gabbana, Gianfranco Ferré, Marc Jacobs, Oscar de la Renta etc.), the greatest photographers (Steven Meisel, Herb Ritts, Peter Lindbergh, Richard Avedon, Irving Penn, Bruce Weber etc.), as well as just an incredible and unmatched amount of creative freedom to the models themselves. Images such as Lindbergh's British Vogue January 1990 cover with Christy, Cindy, Naomi, Linda and Tatjana, Herb Ritts' Rolling Stone 1989 shot with Christy, Cindy, Naomi, Tatjana and Stephanie, that amazing Versace 1991 show in Milan when Christy, Naomi, Cindy and Linda walked the runway to 'Freedom! '90'. They're timeless moments that are actually works of art, that took amazing talent by the photographers, stylists, editors, designers and models themselves to do, and all Christy has to say is that everything about it is out-dated? Kind of a slap in the face to many of the amazing people involved in the industry who helped make her the beautiful and brilliant supermodel she was and still is.
+caesar brighton I think you're taking what she said out of context and too seriously. She just meant that some of the fashions of the time made her cringe.
No, shes totally right. I always thought modelling in the 80's and early 90's was kind of cheesy with all the twirling and over the top posing. It got more relaxed, natural with Kate Moss. Then relaxed sexy with Gisele. Over the top doesn't date well.
My mum almost died from a post-partum haemorrhage when she had me as well (also her first born). Funnily enough, her body type and face was/ is quite similar to Christy's. I wonder if it has something to do with being tall and thin and perhaps the hips are not wide enough?
I'm sorry but I totally disagree. Christy is a woman who while her career as a supermodel lasted was the most realistic. Now, retired, live discreetly, without eccentricities, and has formed a wonderful family. For me, a total inspiration!.
will never get how people worship clothes horses who just promoted body issues. They were just tall and had to vomit and even sleep around to get anywhere with modelling. I've seen Christy lookalikes and even she looks sooo ordinary. Some models were facially pretty but without the makeup and heaps of photoshop they were nothing. They were extremely self entitledntoo
She is so beautiful inside and out. When she spoke about her father dying from lung cancer, she was so graceful in her sadness, it was heartbreaking. It made me cry. What a beautiful person

She is a modern day Audrey Hepburn. Elegant and classic beauty, with a kind heart.
More than just a Super Model. A Super Human Being. She was always my favorite model back in the day.
In her 40s and still the most beautiful model ever, just amazing skin and bone structure.
She looks like her Mother. She is so down to earth and intelligent.
Timeless beauty, no matter what her age. She is Audrey Hepburn, whose beauty never dies.
Christy is such an inspiring woman. I'm blown away by what she has accomplished. Her and Ed make one perfect duo :)
Did not know her mom was from El Salvador. Her parents made a good looking lady.
What a beautiful human being... A true super role model. God bless!

Thank you, Christie! You are doing God's work.
and way before that, there was Audrey Hepburn :) I am so fond of both!
When super Models rule the world. Christy is my favorite super Model.
I'm her biggest fan!!..
SHE HAS ALOT OF RESEMBLENCE 2 SASHA SOKOL. VERY BEAUTIFUL LOTS OF SOUL.
I met you this summer! had her son in my camp
She's down-to-earth, and not some stuck-up gold-digger model out there. . A real role model to look up to.
Fun fact:
The word supermodel describes ONLY three models:
Christy, Naomi and Linda!
I would include Yasmeen Ghauri, Cindy Crawford, Kate Moss and Tyra Banks!!!
@@blossom4237 Tyra is NOR a Supermodel. She is maybe a former Top model...
Christy's sister, Kelly, is married to Ed's brother, Brian. What are the chances of that?!
you're damn right, she is...the woman every girl should grow up to be!!!!!!!!!!!!!
she was just bashing the clothes, not the era
