The title "Goddess of the Mountain" straight away explains the concept of immortality. Mountains, sun, moon, stars, sky, sea...all of these are immortal. They remain where they are even when generations pass by. They have stood there forever... And have seen people, animals, insects, birds, trees leaving this world. But they themselves can never have the opportunity to leave the world. The "Goddess" here is the spirit of the mountain. It's a personification. She yearns to enter mortality. In the picture, we can see how the flowers behind her are wilting and yet, she herself can't wilt. She must have lost a thousand loves of her life and yet she still can't be a mortal. It's painful, agonizing and tiring. And the song is just a way of telling us her sufferings and what a curse it is to be an immortal...
I hope one day, this beautiful goddess gets rid of this curse and her yearns could be answered.

Life is meaningless alone. Sharing the world with another, even if it’s just one person, can alleviate the loneliness of immortality. In a way, death is what gives life meaning and determine it’s worth.

The woman/goddess here only suffers despite being immortal because she deludes herself with the idea of the possibility of being eternal lovers in paradise when we give emotional value to love and lust in the first place only to create meaning in life and we only create meaning in life to feel more scared and less curious of death.
However lustful or "pure" their love could've possibly been in the said paradise, the lovers would soon realize the delusion of the emotional prizing of both lust and love once there would cease to exist any reason to create meaning in life because there would be no death to be scared of. Having either sexual or "pure god-honouring romantic activities" everyday would soon seem as monotonous as being alone in the mountaintop.
the poet himself died of suicide so it clearly looks that the poet himself struggled to find meaning in his life and couldn't see that we don't live because of meaning in life, but rather we create subjective meanings of life to feel motivated to live

My mom introduced me to Ancient Chinese Music when I was really young. She usually listens to those every time she sits down beside her unfinished canvas and proceeds to paint Gongbi. We moved to another apartment and thus shared the same study room. I would always wait for her to settle down, wash her brushes and turn on her music playlist. I admit I’m often motivated when music’s around.
Hours upon hours, we stay silent, sitting back to back. Me, doing my homework and revising for the next test, and her, outlining and colouring while bringing birds, koi and lotus flowers to life. The room is filled with nothing but those mellifluous pieces of Guqin and Bamboo flute duets.
I too love celtic music. These music are one of a kind.
