"Goddess of the Mountain" is the name of a Chapter from an ancient Chinese book of myths and legends that goes by the title "Chu Songs - The Nine Verses", dating back about 400 B.C. This chapter depicts a rather melancholic story of a goddess' promised meeting with her lover that was not meant to be.

The title "Goddess of the Mountain" straight away explains the concept of immortality. Mountains, sun, moon, stars, sky, sea...all of these are immortal. They remain where they are even when generations pass by. They have stood there forever... And have seen people, animals, insects, birds, trees leaving this world. But they themselves can never have the opportunity to leave the world. The "Goddess" here is the spirit of the mountain. It's a personification. She yearns to enter mortality. In the picture, we can see how the flowers behind her are wilting and yet, she herself can't wilt. She must have lost a thousand loves of her life and yet she still can't be a mortal. It's painful, agonizing and tiring. And the song is just a way of telling us her sufferings and what a curse it is to be an immortal...
I hope one day, this beautiful goddess gets rid of this curse and her yearns could be answered.

Life is meaningless alone. Sharing the world with another, even if it’s just one person, can alleviate the loneliness of immortality. In a way, death is what gives life meaning and determine it’s worth.

We try to create meaning in life because every human is scared of death because ta-da being inherently scared of death is highly beneficial for reproductive success and natural selection go prrrr. (if it doesn't make sense for scientific data, the life expectancy of people who have lack of sensitivity to pain and temperature(CIPA) is very low; most people don't live over the age of 25 years, and also the disease is extremely rare 🙂) And lack of meaning in life strays us away from the will to live and eventually strays us away to death by either neglect or direct suicide.
The woman/goddess here only suffers despite being immortal because she deludes herself with the idea of the possibility of being eternal lovers in paradise when we give emotional value to love and lust in the first place only to create meaning in life and we only create meaning in life to feel more scared and less curious of death.
However lustful or "pure" their love could've possibly been in the said paradise, the lovers would soon realize the delusion of the emotional prizing of both lust and love once there would cease to exist any reason to create meaning in life because there would be no death to be scared of. Having either sexual or "pure god-honouring romantic activities" everyday would soon seem as monotonous as being alone in the mountaintop.
the poet himself died of suicide so it clearly looks that the poet himself struggled to find meaning in his life and couldn't see that we don't live because of meaning in life, but rather we create subjective meanings of life to feel motivated to live
see teachings of Buddhism. It gave me all my answers as to why my emotional pain and suffering, like many others seemed to be rooted in ultimately nothing and felt like no amount or dosage of SSRIs and materialistic possessions/freedoms could cure it.

The most tragic situation is when you are trying to live your life according to a beautiful meaning but this is constantly frustrated by morons who act as if they are soulless animals. This type of situation is not tenable, and an early parting with the ugliness of it is understandable. What most people call ‘fulfilled life’ is like an infectious disease for the soul. No gods or goddesses would touch this world with a barge pole. This world is 100% anti-life.

He gave her a promise, and like a fool or a mortal would, she believed him until she was the only one left there, on the mountain.
On the place where she once laughed so happily, all she felt was numbness. The pain was no longer there, washed away by time until all her passion turned into coldness, and all was distant.
For she was a goodness, an immortal being, ruler of this world where mortals would bow down and worshipped her. Yet when she first saw him, she had fallen from grace.
For what was the meaning of life, if she could not experience death? There were times when she hated her immortality, wishing to disappear so she would be reunited with him. There were times when she was willing to fade away, just to see his face again. For life and death should be a cycle, yet it would never be so for her.
But, perhaps from the very start, she should have refused him. After all, she knew what would happen, knew it so well that her heart ache. But in the end, he had died, leaving her alone in this world.
In the end, he couldn't fulfill his promise to her after all.
From the beginning, it had always been her wanting, craving the warmth that he brought to her life.
Everything that came after that was just her fault, nothing more.

My mom introduced me to Ancient Chinese Music when I was really young. She usually listens to those every time she sits down beside her unfinished canvas and proceeds to paint Gongbi. We moved to another apartment and thus shared the same study room. I would always wait for her to settle down, wash her brushes and turn on her music playlist. I admit I’m often motivated when music’s around.
Hours upon hours, we stay silent, sitting back to back. Me, doing my homework and revising for the next test, and her, outlining and colouring while bringing birds, koi and lotus flowers to life. The room is filled with nothing but those mellifluous pieces of Guqin and Bamboo flute duets.
I too love celtic music. These music are one of a kind.

The mountain ghost is a beautiful, frank and infatuated girl. In the poem, she expresses her deep yearning for her lover through her inner monologue. The whole poem depicts that the mountain ghost and his lover agreed to meet somewhere one day. Despite the difficult road, she still rushed there with joy, but the lover failed to come as promised. In the wind and rain, the mountain ghost waited for his lover and forgot to go home, but in the end, the lover still did not come. It was getting late, and the mountain ghost returned to her residence. In the environment of wind and rain and the singing of apes, she felt very sad and sad. Ever since I was little I've felt this thing where I feel out of place not that things make me feel out of place everyone is nice they're just existing but idk I feel like just out of place really as if I was forced to be in this society. I don't feel like the timeline belongs to me even when i was like 3 yrs old or ever since I can remmeber. I'm 14 rn. But people say I'm too mature and adult like for my age , my parents have been told to make me act like a child cus I'm being tok mature for my age and that i need a childhood even when I waaas about 6 or 7 yrs old. I would stay inside all the time I wasn't allowed internet until I was 11 not kidding. I ALWAYS ALWAYS stayed indoors I've been to special events like marriages, etc maybe 4 times and that's it not kidding have been to the park 2 times only in my whole life. Have gone out with family and stuff for idk about 6 times. I dint even go to my brother's wedding there were about 300 ppls so .. I don't like social gatherings it's too much people not that I hate ppls I just don't like crowds. I want to stay in isolation, I can play any instruments I lay my hands on with a little guide in a short time, can learn many languages every fast and speak like a native speaker, i speak 9 languages currently that to fluent and like a native speaker. Been bumped up 2 grades. Cares too much about the things happening in the world, I don't wanna start a war so imma stop. I wanna change the things out of order, but ik anyways let's stop here. So, people would tell me the way I speak too respectful when I'm by myself my way of speaking is simple but when I speak to other even my family which are like my bsf I speak with honorific and etc. I can't change it,there's alot of thing in my life and about myself so let's stop about that part here. I won't say the name but in my country there's a famous astrologer that comes to him from all over the world he uses modern day tech to read the honorscope and what not okay, but my family don't really beliveß these stuff but in my culture you have to get your baby or child's horoscope and fortune or just qualities read by these people, and I just found out recently there's were papers and stuff so I asked my mum, she said when they went to get my fortune read they said I was like a very old soul full of wisdom, return of an old deity, and that my mother has a stone she collected in her cupboard inside a jar and that my mum picked up that stone and I was waiting for someone to notice me{which is the deity} , my mum was shooked like no one told this man anything about any stone whatsoever. He saud many other stuff , he also said that this birth of mine is the birth of the ruler n what not. Ik it sounds ridiculous but even before knowing all these even before using the intersent n living likeacaveman I would always be fascinated by everything tbh like poetry, music, art etc my mum said I would write about things I've never seen before as a poem n the poem would not look like it was written by a 10 yr old. I was also very. Very. Very, fascinated by healing others, swords yes just the swords, fan blades, needles, poison, just wierd weapons, horses, I would always want to cover my face for sm very strange reason, I want to save everyone good or bad I want to lead the bad ones the right but I always have wondered what is bad n wjat is good too, I want to finish off things which absolutely makes othethings life hell for the stupidest reasons. But sometimes I feeI'being unreasonable thinking theses. Anyways what I want to conclude is that These music brings me somewhere I think does not exist n idk how to feel at all
