It's contemporary or ancient music?
No thank you, I don't want the Chinese government watching me and controlling me.
Beautiful music though.
Hydrogen Atom Relax, neither Chinese or American gov has interest in a loser...sad to see how brainwashed you are, care less about politics you will be better, and for sure, don’t ever think you are a such important person that even attract foreign gov to spy on you. At least if I am CCP I wouldn’t waste a penny on you
This makes me miss something that I’ve never had.
Same... Maybe inner peace
The same to you
That means I have lost it forever.那意味着我永远地失去了她。

"a song doesn't need lyrics if the composition itself is poetry"
it has lyrics, actually! The original song is Unsullied by MAo Buyi, from the OST of Ashes of love. definitely give it a listen too!
Ooooh Ashes of love, i knew this was sonething i heard before, the prigibal song is also lovely
Lovely quote.
U can search for these beautiful Chinese musical instruments playing many ancient and modern songs on UA-cam. These instruments include Guzheng 古筝, Guqin 古琴 (has a deeper sound than Guzheng, this is the one played by Lan Zhan in The Untamed), Dizi 笛子 (a kind of Chinese flute, held sideways, this is the one played by Wei Wuxian in The Untamed), Xiao 箫 (held vertically and played by blowing at one end of it, sounds lower and deeper than Dizi, this is the one played by Wen Kexing in the Wuxia drama called Word of Honor), Pipa 琵琶 (a sonorous, four-stringed, pear-shaped instrument held upright on the lap when played, sounds very intense, this is the one played by the Scorpion King in Word of Honor), Erhu 二胡 (two-stringed, sounds very sad, like the voice of humans), Suona 唢呐 (very loud, used at both traditional Chinese weddings and funerals), Hulusi 葫芦丝 (cucurbit flute, sounds very beautiful and melodious, from Yunan province, in the south of China). My favorites are Guzheng, Guqin, Xiao and Pipa. Since I watched Word of Honor, I love Xiao and Pipa more. 😁 This channel called ‘Zi De Guqin Studio’ is amazing. Hope u enjoy them.☺️

for the first time my hyper active 4 year old son was sitting calm and just listening for 4 minutes. Thats magical
That is Awesome! I'm happy to hear that. That is the amazing power of music. And this instrument is so insanely beautiful in the hands of such a passionate player.... So Now you know what you need to play a lot around the house! this channel here seems to have a ton of amazing music on it.
I was a street musician for 20 years. Nothing makes music so worthwhile as the appreciation and rapt attention of an innocent child.
Connecting with another soul through the language of music before they've mastered their spoken one.
It's an honor and a privilege to bring peace and quiet to a busy young mind.
Get your son a guitar and let him play with it how he wants. See where it goes, you never know.
That is not hyperactivity, it is just being a kid. If you in USA please do not feed them Adderall and Ritalin. And music like this definitely attracts attention.

This is why I wanna learn how to play the guqin 😂
If she played for 8 hours straight I would listen to all of it
Yeah Me Too, Its Very Relaxing 😌
If she played for my whole life I would marry her.
If I had the money I would hire her to play in my garden. It's such a pure sound and played magnificently.
it's "guqin- jade" on spotify
I actually looking for that long
For those wondering about the difference between the two similar Chinese instruments Guqin and Guzheng: Guzheng was an instrument for ancient musicians to entertain others, while Guqin was an instrument for ancient scholars to entertain themselves.
Guqin was one of the 4 arts of ancient Chinese scholars: Qin, Qi, Shu, Hua (Guqin, Go, Chinese Calligraphy, and painting)
there is no way to compare and say one is better but the other is not. Both guqin and guzheng are beautiful.
What does go mean?

I think most people don't see how insane a performance this is, the intonation on an unfretted string instrument is hard enough already, she did it 100%, and on top of that, she managed to hit every single harmonic very precisely too. This is what years and years of practice and a lifelong passion would look like, mind blowing, breathtaking.
It is stunning wish I knew her name!

I was very impressed with the subtlety and precision required to do what she did for the very reasons you mentioned. Easily one of the most memorable piece of music I have ever heard.
True just look at how her fingers move...amazing
It's unfretted but has indication of what frets she on. Takes absolutely nothing away from how amazing she plays, of course.

You better check your history the harp has been there longer and I don't recall King David playing this instrument. I studied the Guzheng for a while as I have been playing the harp for over 20 years. I was and still is looking for a different kind of string instrument to back up the harp. My Guzheng teacher is Chinese and a very nice lady. I worked for a all Chinese company I was the only black American there. I will say they treated me with the up most respect. And though my uncle died from this virus and my sister had it bad. And for much sure I hate Xi. The Chinese people I worked with and studied with are beautiful people. So I might give this instrument a try. Besides I can get it here in the US.

Let me tell you that it is exactly telling story about a longing for someone like what you've explained
To me this sounds like a young woman waiting beneath a cherry blossom tree while a gentle wind is blowing, making her hair flow gently with the breeze as cherry blossoms rain down on her, for her it feels like a memory from a dream, vivid and almost gone. Ziegler CADEAUX well said
I may not know what story this instrument tells, but I may say it offers me a warm and welcoming hug. So heavenly played it made me tear up, no words spoken. Only sounds that sway sadness in melodies. Like a grandmother's voice that tells me a tale of fantasy, a soft steam of comfort when it rings. I feel as if I'm being reborn into my body, soul replenished! Such a beautiful piece.
OOOH I love your description
@@bobbybeeman7280 Thank you 🙌🏻
Through all the crap on UA-cam, sometimes you encounter something new, something wonderful, something that hits you at the core. Thank you.
The instrument played in this video is Guqin. U can search for these Chinese musical instruments playing many ancient and modern songs on UA-cam. 😁 The way Wen Kexing played the Xiao made of white jade is so elegant. 🥰 Also, the Scorpion King playing the Pipa at 18:55 of episode 6 looks so cool. 😁 At 19:55 of episode 4, Qin Song, one of the four assassins of the Scorpion also played the Pipa.
This is a very informative comment thank you. I will listen to every list instrument here. 🥰
Finally someone who actually watched both Word of Honor and The Untamed just like me! 😁😁 I actually only watched two dramas before, the Untamed and Word of Honor but ever since I've finished both of them, I couldn't get over them!
@@nani-os6gx There are many out there who watched and love both The Untamed & Word of Honor 😉
So, could one say this is equivalent to a lap steel guitar vs a baritone lap steel guitar, with this instrument being the baritone version of the higher pitched guzheng. I love the way this sounds!
Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us about the ancient Chinese music instruments, my favourite is. Guzheng. Guqin and bamboo flute.

nani

Am from Uganda, East Africa but the way i fell in love with Chinese Guqin. Just wishing i knew how to play one
I'd play it for my kids, mum and sis and everyone around me. Good music
This is my first time hearing this instrument and it's like the soft weeping tone is telling a story as the enchanted low chimes tell the sadness in the story
Listen to "upwards to the moon" and be prepared to be blown away... no exaggeration ♥️
It’s telling you the story of how I miss a white girl that I have a crush that’s why it’s so sad
that's how Chinese instrument impacts on people
Watching a lot of Chinese historical dramas made me fell in love with Chinese culture but Zhao Lusi was one of the biggest factor why I started to love and been wanting to learn to play this type of instrument.
最近在听小说,突然想到这种级别的演奏在古代得是兜里有银子心里有诗词才能有幸听到的。生活在现代太幸福了😂

I'm a guitar player myself and I like playing the blues/rock stuff mostly. But this... it really inspires me. It makes me want to pick up my guitar and work out some dreamy chords and licks that are just as melancholic and emotion-filled as this. I listen to a lot of music and have hardly ever experienced as much inspiration from a piece of music. Thanks for this
It's an instrument of heaven and earth, played by the scholars of thousands of years. Good luck
Absolutely amazing sound. I wonder if someone made chords of this melody for a guitar
It has more than 3000 years' history.

As I listened to this music I could not help to relive my memories of my children as they grow before moving away. It brought back happy memories of my love for them and how they would make me smile throughout my life. They are now grown and on their own but, they still make me smile with my grandchildren. I'm glad that UA-cam suggested this to me. Wonderful instrument and wonderful music. Really enjoying it. Love the way you play the guqin, really peacefully and in harmony. I'm so in love with this. Good work! Congrats from Italy!
In Chinese civilization, the six gentlemen of the gentleman are the learning skills of temperament and quality, and the guqin is ranked first. This civilization advocates personal cultivation, but the body is dedicated to the society and harmoniously resonates with nature.

This song is so touching and yet there are people who dislike it, what's wrong with this world.
I been listening to this music piece for months, then recently watched Ashes of Love . While watching the show I thought “this sounds familiar “ 🤔 Now I understand the intro of this video.Beautiful music.
The Master said, "The Guan Ju is expressive of enjoyment without being licentious, and of grief without being hurtfully excessive."
This should be the best display of music, and the human spirit can be at the same level as the gods.
I watch this vid almost weekly. It's just beautiful. The guqin is truly an exquisite instrument.
