I'm watching this just to be prepared
Brianna Austin same
Brianna Austin its not scary at all
Same 😂
It’s fun, you will like it
How was it
Woah....this coaster is intense
Ela Ballsack not rly when u ride it
@@ikimforever um this ride is intense when you ride
it's intense af
Donovaniscool31....not for me
HAVE YOU RODE X2 , OR KING DA KA?
Just went on this one today. Definitely one of the scariest rides I ever been on, that first drop was intense.
Black Kakarot I went on it 2 times in a row
Prison Mike Ahem Ahem Ahem I WENT ON EXPEDITION EVEREST in animal kingdom Florida which is way scarier and I also went on “Superman the ride” in Six flags New England
Well for me the scariest thing was the dementors
TEAL HDXD lmao how is expedition eversest scarier in any way
It's exactly like twisted collosis in Six Flags Magic Mountain, it reminds me so much about it!!
I think they could have added more, but it's still awesome.
I agree, they should have added a few more banked turns and maybe another inversion, like a barrel roll or something, after the zero-G stall.
legojack gaming the thing is SFGAm didn't have that much room for a new coaster
Loki Dominoes Good point. it does occupy quite a small space of land. It's actually quite impressive that they were able to fit that much in.
It's a Monster
Yass wish it was longer 😫😫 but it's still awesome
The thing I love about this ride is that it’ll scare you shitless, but it’s actually really smooth! You don’t feel jostled around, and by the end I didn’t have a headache at all! I was terrified beyond all belief but physically the ride didn’t mess me up at all which was really nice!
WT
Yass, my home park! Great video.
Thanks :)
same
Your lucky to have this as your home park im stuck with six flags St. Louis
Lnboria Are you kidding me? I have CALIFORNIA'S great america :( At least we're getting Railblazer next year tho :/
FungusGD Californias great America is a lot better then Six Flags St Louis
This is definitely an underrated coaster
I agree, but I think the reason it is so underrated is because, even though it is extremely intense, compact, and has awesome elements, they are way too jam packed and are too rapid for the coaster to feel complete.
I strongly agree with you friend
Love this ride, I just wish it wasn't so damn short. A problem I've noticed with a few coasters at Great America. Especially when compared to their equally massive sister parks like Magic Mountain, Great Adventure or Over Texas. Even when compared to their competitors like Cedar Point. Goliath, X-Flight, Superman, Dark Knight, Joker, Demon and Whizzer are all kinda short rides to be honest. There are two coasters there that have any real length and that's American Eagle and Raging Bull. All the others are Ok to short.
Sw1zT1m3 Let’s be real here, some of the roller coasters that you listed are long, like X-flight or Superman. All of the rides have a past, most of the rides have a short space because of that, for example say they replaced V2 then what would go there because of its odd placement and odd shape.
@@innocent.vibes.7262 I'm sorry but I am being very realistic in my assessment. And I utterly and completely disagree with you. Superman for instance is indeed a short to average ride at best. Before Superman was there in its same spot sat Shockwave. Which was a much bigger, taller and longer coaster. Furthermore look at a similar ride to Superman called Tatsu at Magic Mountain. They are basically the same type of coaster from the same manufacturer. But one is far superior to the other. X-Flight is a compact-ish ride that barely goes that high and is average in overall scale. Great America is over 300 acres of park land. They have the space, they just rarely use ingenuity with that given space to accommodate for bigger, taller and longer coasters. But to be fair, it could be that they are just cheaper when it comes to spending money on their versions of big bang rides. But using V2 was a bad example. Because rides like V2 are one of the few times Great America took advantage of space and used it accordingly well with little to no taking down of other rides. I do agree that it would be hard to replace a ride like that within that space. But to be honest, Magic Mountain does this all the time and they have at least 5 more coasters than Great America. Not to mention bigger, taller and longer versions of some of the same coasters Great America has. It's really no excuse. Except for maybe V2, Maxx Force and probably Joker, Great America has just not been using their space as well as they could have been with a lot of their coasters.
@@xkee2013 Yeah, especially Cedar Point's ride that is similar to this (forgot the name), it's longer than this and packs more thrill I'd say. I do wish SFGAM focused on building one giant, longer, and more of a thrill roller coaster as opposed to several shorter ones. Just my opinion
@@xkee2013 To be fair though Raging Bull at Great America is a good coaster
@@TrustySteeringWheelTray Totally agree with you. Especially keeping into account how big Great America is. They could intertwine some of the bigger, taller and longer coasters to compensate for space. But for some reason they don't do this. Magic Mountain does it all the time.
Some of the new coasters I'd like to see at SFGAm is a worlds only dueling flying coaster on the level of a Tatsu. They could call it Superman Vs. Bizarro: Challenge Of Steel (This could replace Superman: Ultimate Flight).
A spectacular worlds first only dueling RMC Raptor coaster. With one side being green and the other side being yellow. They could call it Green Lantern Corps.
A massive one of a kind RMC T-REX coaster called Legion Of Doom.
A worlds tallest, fastest, longest MACK Xtreme Twister coaster. It could be themed to Chicago. Call it Windy City Twister.
A next level new age MACK Water coaster. With better water elements. Call it Aquaman.
That's just a few of my personal ideas.
I Live Near Great America And Goliath's Drop Is Seriously Crazy.
Im going on it for the first time tomorrow and im soo excited. Ive been on everything else but goliath because ive always been too scared but i decided not to be anymore
I honestly love the stomach-dropping feeling of steep drops
@@Eevisbeevis you just brought back so many memories omg, anyways have fun! i was scared the first time but after riding it multiple times it became really fun
I've gone on every single ride at Six Flags Great America! Goliath has by far the scariest drop of them all! If you ride Goliath then Raging Bull you can really tell the difference. I recommend going if you've never gone there.
Pheonix same! for me at the first time riding it I was scared but it was so fun at the same time
Anyone else get an ad about the new ride Mardi Gras Hangover 😂
Awesome Goliath POV! I've been to SFGAM twice before but I cannot wait to ride this thing!!!! Looks so awesome! :)
Goliath Conquerer It really is cool! I cannot wait for it! :)
Goliath Conquerer Me too but only a few times like four or five or SIX!
Goliath Conquerer I think so too, same with Fury 325 at Carowinds!
Just watched the new SpongeBob, was so good!
Goliath Conquerer In your state?
I went on this it scared this shit out of me
Night Fox Gaming me too but its fun doe
NMA Productions I'm 11 years old and I rode every roller coaster at six flags great america and this is my fav
I’m 9 and it was soo scary!,I almost cried because I was so scared, THERES only a lap bar and a thing around your shins to keep you secure. It’s so scary. 😳 I couldn’t even scream because of the air flying against my face because it goes straight down. It felt like I was falling, like if you had one of those falling dreams and you fall from the air!
we went to GA for a 8th grade field trip last year (my first time going), my friend cried, and I was a little shaken up,but it was amazing
MagicAngelina08 honestly to me the drop was the worst part when I when I went on it, the rest isn’t that bad
This is my favorite coaster there (along with the Superman) :)
Mariah Brice Same. My favorite rides are Superman, Goliath, Raging Bull, and the Viper
Supermans mid tbh. My fav rn is raging bull
Goliath at Six Flags Great America !!!
Incredible ride My First RMC- not sure how to rank it in my top 10 wood or steel.
Unfortunately here in Italy we won't have nothing similar! We had a great wooden coaster but was demolished in 2007 due high manteinance costs.
That sucks :( Hopefully someday you'll get lucky and something good will get built !
This was what I mean in my last post: it.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sierra_Tonante. (Also available in English)
+James C DUMMY!!!! I GOT ON THAT THING AND I WAS SCREAMMING ALL THE WAY TO HIGH HEVEN!!!! DAMN, I BET 1,000,000,000 I SCARED EVERYONE!!!!😫😫
I was able to go on this once. Loved it!!!!!! I want to go on this ride again.
The park was much more balanced when they had ShockWave and Raging Bull as their premiere coasters, long.. with mid-course breaks. They should have never bothered with Superman. They should have replaced ShockWave with an original B&M floorless with a Dominator-type steep twisting drop and a little variation on the Medusa layout... and called it ShockWave Reloaded or something. seven inversions and interesting banked sections to make up for the figure 8 finale we lost with Iron Wolf.
Iron Wolf was short but extremely intense. It's too bad it got so rough. If they were going to replace it with the worlds "tallest fastest wooden blah blah blah" they shouldn't have copped out on the length just to have a record breaking coaster.
X-Flight could have been a 140 or 150' tall coaster with a mid-course as well.
Deja Vu was great. Sucks it's gone, even though its maintenance was terrible. And why have they not simply replaced the back tower of V2 and put that crazy ass brake back in? It is not that expensive to keep replacing the tower (because of the strain from the breaking) every few years. They should replace V2 with a launched Intamin like Maverick, but with an Xcelerator type initial launch and 280 foot initial vertical incline/drop. - TO FINALLY reach their height limit.
Don't get me wrong, Great America is at least up there as one of the best theme parks in the country and offers some of the most variety of coasters.. but they frequently underwhelm and disappoint with these miniature versions of awesome concepts.
Imma say this, X flight is my FAVORITE ride at Six Flags Great America and people like me love it the way it is.
You actually took the words right outta my mouth!!! I love Six Flags Great America as it's my home park but every single thing you stated I have to agree with. Ever since I got older and started realizing how awesome coasters in other Six Flags parks and other theme parks were, I begin to notice something. I always wondered why whensoever Great America got their coasters, it was always compact-ish in its size and build. Especially when compared to the competition. That always bothered me and still does. The only two coasters that Great America has that really deliver on size and build are American Eagle and Raging Bull. Although the latter was dropped in its initial height because of Gurnee's idiotic height restrictions. Which makes no real sense to me because Sky Trek Tower is like 330 feet. Yet Raging Bull, Great America's tallest coaster is barely 202 to 208 feet in height at best.
When Great America first announced X-Flight and I saw the first drafts of it, I thought it would be their version of Magic Mountain's X2. But newer and more advanced. Boy was I disappointed. I like X-Flight but they could of done so much more with that coaster. I hate its compact-ish design. It should of been longer, faster and much taller imo!!
I love Goliath but think that instead of making that coaster from scratch, they should of just gave the RMC treatment to Viper. And re-themed it as Goliath. I think we would have gotten a much better coaster as a result.
They should NEVER try and RMC American Eagle. It is one of the the most unique rides Great America has. Besides, there are not a lot of classic wooden racing coasters anymore. As far as RMC-ing Viper is concerned, it's not unique. It's just another Georgia Cyclone clone. It's enough of them already in existence.
In the future, I would like to see a spinning coaster in the vein of Time Traveler at Silver Dollar City at Great America themed to Chicago. They could call it Windy City Twister!! And/or a RMC T-Rex coaster themed to The Legion Of Doom!! Great America has so much potential but they seem to fail to utilize it all. If Magic Mountain, Great Adventure, Cedar Point and Adventure Land can do it, so can Great America!!
I'm just glad you didn't say anything about batman, my favorite ride by far
Bruh, it’s a roller coaster
Nice POV of Goliath. That coaster looks awesome
Northwestern University bought out the park for its students. Went on this 7 times. Too good
The best little monster coaster out there... if only it were twice as long.
I remember I went on Goliath that drop was terrifying but the rest was super fun! Love this ride
Probably once of my favorite RMCS.
OMG that ride is sooo fun! The drop isn't as bad as it seems. Sometimes you can't even tell if you're upside down or not because its so smooth. By the way, they don't have really anything to hold on to so putting your hands up is the best option. Also, I have a tip for when lines are really long. Go to single riders. You might not be on the same car as your family but you get on about 10x quicker. They don't care if you talk to your family either. My sister and dad were talking the whole time and they still let us on as single riders. Sorry to write a whole novel 😂😂😂
awsome video
i love rollercoaster toooo
i visit six flags gurnnee
and cedar point
and indiana beach resorts
😄😃😀😊☺☺
i LOVE BEING OUTDOORS
Rode it today for the first time! Amazing!
with the joker ride now open, this ride has shorter lines now! specially early morning. i love it.
mikelor06 same but my mum lost her sunglasses on the joker ;-;
If This ride was just a bit longer it would probably the best RMC in the world and maybe a top 5 rollercoaster period
yk in 2021 it is going better than ever, idk why like the airtime hill after the drop is just beautiful
Me , and Goliath are best buds we always go together and if you haven’t been on it it’s ok!! Don’t chicken out I’ll give
Ya the inspiration to ride it ;) I just went on it a few minutes ago so I have to make this short bc I’m going on it again right now so!!!!!
Me and him always are best everyone says NO NO DONT GO ON THE RIDE ITS BUMBY NOT SMOOTH But I don’t believe that bc I come on to and its not scary (for me) never bumpy either ! But when we finish the ride I go to the front cart and say “ stay strong great ride love ya buddy” and I kiss the cart for Goliath to have good luck so if your lucky I really have to go bye but yes it’s very fun I’ll edit this later in a few minutes;) Anyway, the point was, it’s a very fun ride. If you even get the chance to ride it do it. I know your probably like "but it’s scary!," your going to regret it because you might not ever ride it again, good luck.
very cool but maybe do not kiss it
@@ihatezilla8187 I don’t actually kiss it, just pat it goodbye.
just don't understand why they're so dang short...
good ride though
Very small alotted space that Iron Wolf left behind. They made the most of it but i think they still couldve added some more. Whatever.
best rollercoaster at great America
The only ride I almost shat myself on
This coaster is not that long but It sure does make up for it for looking so intense.
Wish this was longer but great coaster
love Goliath!!
Can't believe Goliath got two of its records taken away: Being the tallest and fastest wooden roller coaster, but at least it's still the steepest ;D
What? It's not the tallest?
+--Hog-Oween Haunts-- Lightning Rod is the tallest now at over 200 feet, while Goliath had the tallest wooden coaster drop of 180 feet (having the record of the tallest wooden coaster) and the fastest of 73 mph, while Goliath only goes 72 mph.
+Tony Kim Lightning Rod is only 165 feet tall (same with Goliath and the drop is 165 ft tall
+--Hog-Oween Haunts-- Well Goliath is the tallest for having the tallest wooden coaster drop of 180 feet, even though the initial height is only 165 feet. That's why it has the record.
Goliath was never the tallest wooden coaster. As Tony said, it has the tallest wooden coaster drop, but that doesn't make it the tallest. The tallest drop is the tallest drop, that's it. Lightning Rod also isn't the tallest wooden coaster either. Though Dollywood (the park it is located at) claims it "climbs 20 stories," they have not verified their claim, and they made the same claim for another one of their coasters, Wild Eagle, but never verified its actual height either. The only records held by Goliath are the steepest wooden coaster and the tallest drop on a wooden coaster.
I went on this rollercoaster at the same park (Gurnee, Illinois) as stated in the description. I was expecting a lot more out of it. The first and only time I went on it, my hands were up the whole time 😕😂
Ended my 2015 season at SFGAm with an overall total of 122 rides on Goliath, and 101 rides on Goliath this season. Can't wait to be back at KI in 3 days or so.
Lol I ended my 2015 season with 3 rides on Goliath. That's awesome dude!
+Rock&Roll_Pat My friends have over 200. Pretty crazy.
I was just on this a few hours ago for my first time and I must say that it is amazing. I think I still like the raging bull more but it is still amazing and very rerideable.
It's a good ride but steel vengeance at cedar point is better but they're both good
Omg I love the goliath its my fav
Is it sad this is better then the official pov
Soo fun love this ride
Favorite ride!
I went on this it is my favorite! So fun!
By watching this makes me feel a little sick inside but it looks fun
I’m going Sunday and i really want to ride this but I’m not sure if I will like it. I have been on x flight,Superman,Batman, wizzer, viper, eagle do you think I can handle it
yeah you can definitely handle it
James C ok I think I’ll be fine after I shit myself going down the drop 😂
James C also if I can do this can I do raging bull
Savage Squad Gamer plz put spaces after the comma
Savage Squad Gamer oh yes u can Goliath is so much scarier then raging bull
Going there next week 👏🏿👏🏽👏🏻
I went on this scary af
LPGED then u chicken nah jk
rode this the first season it was open. i go every year for my bday july 2nd. i hit the water park first was all nice and oily from layin out set my speedy pass went on front row had no idea there is NOTHING over your shoulders just waist. nothing to hold on to lmao i was gonna slid right out of that damn ride! was the best rush. very quick coaster but was alot of fun! ✌💜
Sorry I'm a day late but happy birthday :)
This ride looks intimidating but it feels awesome
2nd fav ride at the park, 1st is raging bull 😎‼️💯
My favorite rmc
P.s. the only rmc ive ridden
This one was awesome, but I still like the Goliath at Magic Mountain better ;)
What is with Six Flags Great America and having all these roller coasters that are so damn short?
SFGAm was my home park growing up, and I am so grateful I live in Los Angeles now and have Magic Mountain... their coasters are nice and lengthy especially the B&Ms (Tatsu, Riddler, Scream!). Raging Bull is the only worthwhile B&M we got. X-Flight is cool and all but pathetically short and Superman is one-trick pony.
Superman, Batman, Goliath, X Flight... all incredibly short. Superman should have gotten better treatment. It is the most BASIC flying coaster ever. Pretty much after the first drop and that first inversion there is that one giant banking curve that gives you a little thrill and that's it. They could have easily maxed it out at 160 or 170 feet tall like Tatsu and maybe even had a mid-course break that dropped into the inverse version of a corkscrew, much like how the first inversion is the inverse of a giant loop. It could have been a lot longer. And X-Flight had space constraints but they still could have made it a little longer. Batman is the original B&M invert so that's understandable. Goliath is SO short.
Raging Bull and Viper are the only roller coasters whose ride durations justify their wait times.
I've never been not his ride but I'm going next month so....it's definitely gonna be a first
Has any one else been on this coaster besides me ps so much fun on actual thing
Don't you hate it when your in line to go on a ride and your the only kid in line... I get more scared.
I went on this when I was 9 and I was the only kid
*The Goliath* Was My First Roller Coaster Now That I Seen This I Think How Bad Ash I Was When I Was Eight Years Old 🤤
Looks pretty awesome, but same complaint I have with iron rattler, way to short. a lot of wasted energy there. Why build it so tall if your gonna only make it a 20 second ride?
Do you have anymore roller coaster pov's from each and every six flags parks across the country?
Six flags great america is my home park because i live in chicago and ps been there 9 times
I don't remember it being that intense when I rode it XD. Probably because I kept my eyes closed for the whole time.
|-/
||-// :)
Smol Bean -.- I'm flipping 11 years old and I went on every single ride at six flags great america with my eyes opened
Has it really been nearly 6 years since this ride opened? It feels more like last year.
I'm gonna ride this tomorrow 😬
Six Flags Great America
im about to go tomorrow thanks for the warning lmao
Boy oh boy was i hyperventilating going up the hill on this yesterday
I rode this with my friend’s mom and I literally started crying 😂 This is super scary, but also fun. But I still can’t ride it again.
To be clear, most RMC’s are built using an already-built wooden structure, so it’s not as expensive. This is a ground-up meaning they build their own supports which costs more. And we all know six flags isn’t going to spend any more money then they have to.
Looks like a lot of fun but damn is that a short ride.
all rides are just a few seconds.
+gabybnb74 Do you ride often? Not all rides are a few seconds. Matter of fact, the only ones that short I've ridden have been Top Thrill Dragster and Kingda Krap.
Some may be almost 2 minutes, usually 1 minute 30sec
I went on it and it was amazing I rode on it last Tuesday
Did you film all of the SFGAm coasters?
Everything except Superman, the mine train, and the Kiddie coasters. But I filmed everything interesting
James C do you not enjoy flyers?
I don't really like filming them. It's very uncomfortable trying to do that and also the waits are ridiculously long since it has horrible capacity
Have you been on a flyer?
Manta at SeaWorld Spencer Harman
Came to this because the top video result had a horrendous popping, crackling kind of noise, literally couldn't even hear the coaster or wind because of it 😂
If you do this ice with no hands ( hands up ) then you get an intense free fall feeling from the waist up on the drops
It goes upside down and only has a lap bar? There's nothing over your shoulders?!
Yep ! Nothing over the shoulders :)
+James C dang that's one thing I can't do, how tight do they put it?
it's super tight and they also have a thing to hold down your legs. But there's really nothing to hold on to except this little black this on the side LOL
It's really fun. Don't let the little things stop you from going on it. The loops are suuper smooth and I actually like no harness better now that I rode it.
It's pretty tight. There's also a shin restraint so you'll feel way more secure :)
+Alexis Vega its so much fun!! i went on it last week for the first time , i was really really scared but when it was done oml i had so much fun!!
guys i need your help. i rode superman n x flight n all the other ones but not the "big ones". What ride will help me graduate to ride this n goliath??? please respond
Justin Valle Honestly I find superman the scariest... so if you handled that then you should be fine on this and raging bull
Justin Valle superman is one of the "big ones"!
How is this ride considered safe even though it's a lap bar on an upside down loop
Went on this today, it was fun.
omfg your such a nerd
Sluta Hoey true
+sanaaalexis just wow sanaa never thought to find you on some roller-coaster video
Sluta Hoey who is you
A friend
So, um, are we going to ignore just how steep the drop is?
Is the first drop bad?
This looks better then the one we have here at mm
😕
Are you crazy!?!? The Goliath at Magic Mountain is way more beastly than this one. Don't get me wrong this one was awesome, but I'll still take the Goliath at Magic Mountain over this one any day!
Yea. The only good parts of Goliath at some are the first drop and helix. The rest is forceless and underwhelming. This is an RMC so I know it's gotta be far better and far more intense than our Goliath at SFMM. Can't wait to ride this and all the other RMC coasters.
Roller coaster was my worst nightmare. I hold it in my pee for 30 minutes while in the line
Next time we go to Chicago I KNOW I'm going to ride thos
have yall ever been to olympus? this is kinda like hades
I SAW THE SKY BELOW ME TWICE
RMC does the best rides haha. you dont expect a shorter, not as tall, ride to be an intense as most hypers haha
What do you use to film? Do you have glasses? Cool Vid!
Oh, I've seen you in some of JiggidyNDG's videos. +James C uses a GoPro Hero 4, I think. I read a reply to a similar comment that I think said so. (Sorry for answering so late lol)
yeah I am...
Is it scary I am going on it soon and I’m 7
Next time I go today
of course you're 7 you play fortnite lmao
Your probably scared for life
This guy needs a windscreen like if you agree
Closed when I went to great america
I'm still too scared to get on this ride. 😅
Princess Kitty nah dont worry my bro is 17 and he too scared. I went on it like billions of times
While looking in the comments I saw some people saying “other Six Flags have better rides” or “the rides at Six Flags Great America are to short”,if you did write one of these comments then you should realize that people spent there hard work on that ride, they spent months trying to figure out what how the layout would be ect. Also just because of short rides or to long of lines, that doesn’t mean that you have to hate it and say rude things about MEH HOME-PARK
This ride was the most horrifying disturbing ride ive ever gotten in my entire life 😢😢😢😢
I remember getting on this omg
This ride is like exactlly like the ride joker in six flags discovery kingdom...
You will not see me on that thing ever in life
Simone Pearsall same here
It’s basically the cyclone at six flags New England
is it scary? lol i have been on ever roller coaster at siz flags great america all 1st seat except for goliath because it looks scary. Now the only part that does to me is the drop and riding upside down. Is it really that bad?
Hannah, I went here earlier this year and it was my first time going since my 8th grade class trip. The only coasters I rode then were Demon and American Eagle. My girlfriend put me on Goliath as my first coaster in over 16 years. I was scared, but the restraints are super effective. There is a seat belt and restraints that lock your legs in. And since there is nothing over your shoulders, you can get a huge thrill of weightlessness all while completely safe. I never once felt insecure while on the ride and it was amazing. I urge you to go on it. That first drop is TO DIE FOR! Don't cheat yourself, ride this coaster!
It's not bad at all. It looks way worse than it actually is :)
I completely agree !
heavenlyhannah !! Front seat omg what a baby everybody knows only the best people are in the back back is the best everybody thinks front is better but back you get more airtime learn ur facts
Sharkboyryan uhm okay?
🎵 HELL TO THE NO NO NO 🎵
KayVlogs no it's hell to the yea yea yea its so fun
Bro when your on the drop it looks so much higher up then it dose in this vid
