- This multifunctional hatchet from Oknife is A compact & light EDC hatchet. Coming in at only 10 inches and about a pound in weight. This would come in handy light chopping and cutting tasks, while the hammer face is perfect for pounding things like tent stakes. this hatchet holds it's edge through use and resists corrosion as well.

The husband likes the larger one, like others have said this would make a great tool for the garden like breaking yo large roots and for me help with the fruit trees.

Evening Grey. Aww, it's so cute. 😉 Seriously, for myself, the hammer head on hatchets has so many uses out backpacking or camping. Though I am not a fan of smaller/short handled hatchets, (most you find are one piece stamped out cheap gadgets) it could be carried on the belt without getting in the way, and it would weigh less. I could see a use for it.

Grey this smaller Oknife hatchet would be awesome for women that done have much strengthen in their wrist. The striking distance would be much more stronger. I would use hatchet in the use of quartering my venison, when I'm butchering. the hook part when sharpened real sharp, could be used to skin the hide off the carcasses.

Full tang is nice mine is fiberglass. I can see the smaller one good for hiking, and the big one for camping or Bob.
How is the fiberglass, do you get any vibrations when using it?

This would be an upgrade. I'm still using a wooden handled one.
I have a few wood handle ones, which can be easier to fix in certain instances, but I do like the feel and comfort when using this one.
I like the smaller size for me. Would be great for camping trips. I miss having the pry bar that is on the larger one.

Since the handle is flat I have to wonder if they're comfortable to handle. Both would fit nicely into a BOB. I don't own a hatchet so don't have a favorite.😄

I have bought a hatchet but it’s not as nice as this one.
I really like the larger one, I plan on taking the smaller one out over the next few weeks and seeing how it feels when using it to accomplish similar tasks that I use it'd big brother for.

I have the bigger one and can not get the hammer head is loose and will not tighten up
Have you contacted them. I've heard they have added loctite to the screws in the newer stock. 🤔
@@GreyManPrepping I put loctite on. The problem is the screws are as tight as they go and it’s still loose. I read a lot of reviews and I’m not the only one with the issue
Oh, OK, I miss read the comment. I have read similar instances of folks having issues. In a reddit forum, some folks tack welded to solve the issue, but honestly, you shouldn't have to go that far with it. Have you reached out to them? If so, what was the response. Thanks in advance.
my completely uninformed opinion is that they may be too thin and light.
The larger one I've beaten up pretty good so far, and it's held up.
