🍗 Ready to dive into heartwarming flavors? Check out our step-by-step guide on the classic Chicken and Dumplings using biscuits! Especially crafted for beginners, it's foolproof and absolutely delicious. Unlock this comforting recipe and beginner tips on our blog now! alvaradocommunityfarm.com/eas...
    Ingredients
    ● 2 large chicken breasts or whole chicken
    ● 1 stick of butter
    ● 3/4 to 1 cup milk
    ● 4 cans biscuits
    ● salt and pepper to taste
    Note:
We are using chicken breast in this video, but you can use a whole chicken if desired. The amount of milk used can vary - the basic rule is to use just enough to help thicken the chicken stock. Time to boil bone-in chicken breast will also vary slightly, but 30 minutes should be sufficient.
    Makes 6 to 8 servings

My son and I when to a restaurant in Raleigh, NC. It was called Big Ed's. It was outstanding! I had the chicken & Dumplings. I liked it so much that I came home to make it myself. And yours' turned out so good I won't have to drive 50 miles again. Thank You!

I make this the same way so easy, the only thing I do differently is I add a can of cream of chicken to the soup base along with the milk, makes it a little more creamy. I to like my dumplings chewy lol, maybe add a little biscuits for more dumplings. 😁

I’ve never been able to make chicken & dumplings until I stumbled across your video. The only thing I did different was I used heavy whipping cream. I had some that I was going to have to throw out if I didn’t soon use it. The dumplings turned out perfect! I was so proud of myself and my husband couldn’t stop bragging about them. I may have been the cook that day but I give you all of the credit. I finally did it and it only took me 55 years to get it right. I’m putting these on my menu again for this week. I can’t thank you enough!! Have a blessed day😊

    • @stevelogan5475

Kathy, if you need to make this really quick, maybe guests show unexpectedly, worked late & come home very hungry, keep a couple of cans of white chix breast & a jar of chix base in your pantry( not chix broth) the chix base is strong concentrated chix paste & replaces the flavor you get from skin on / bone in chix stock( though her recipe is best, this is just a time saver & is delicious) follow her recipe, but you do not need to cook the chix in the can, add veggies to your pot if you like.you can have the whole meal ready in 25 minutes. Hope that helps you also ma'am, God bless. I'm a 56 old Irish man from Kentucky & have been cooking a long time, i prefer scratch, but this short cut works in a pinch.

your mom's recipe is perfect. You might try, if you haven't already... making gnocchi instead of the dumplings one day... it will have the same consistency that you like... however... its like making the pasta ahead of putting it in the dish... super easy... and they are delicious made with potato, fried in butter as well... real comfort food. I make my gnocchi with leftover mashed potato sometimes... that usually contains garlic powder, salt and loads of pepper, a good bit of butter, and heavy cream...(I know... its why we only have it once a week, if that... sometimes I chunk in a dash of parmesan too.) But... makes for an ooooh so good gnocchi!

Surprising recipe .. Well, in Italy, they do not sell the biscuit dough, already packaged and portioned, therefore, I would have more steps, if I wanted to execute, your recipe, that is, create first, the home made biscuits, make the balls with the dough, throw them into the pot with water and butter etc ... as shown in the video. Thank you for giving us your video recipes, my dear friend.

I simply use a bag of frozen mixed vegetables, taste just fine, also, you're getting something from three food groups, bread, meat, & vegetables.
