Great video! I think what I like most about it is how the manager (or whoever is filming) actually acknowledges how much effort this employee has put into his organization to be more efficient.

I like the saying, "it's not what you do that makes you fast, it's what don't do." You obviously don't waste time messing around finding tools and that saves time.

I am an auto body technician that has about 7 years experience, but have been in the collision business for over 11 years. Im definitely taking notes on this guy's organization. This really made me look at the things i have struggled with about waisting time moving back and forth and not producing hours.....it makes you really think about your down time when working on cars. 2 thumbs up my man! I love this, working on organization as we speak! Im taking on an apprentice in a couple weeks and this will really help me keep a hand on things! Thanks for sharing your habits man!

I like the set up. I mix DIY things with store bought things when it comes to modifications. The trashcan is huge for me. Whenever I'm in a shop I waste so much time looking for a trash bin.

This guy is ready to make money. I am in the same process with my shop. Same ideas but I have a cabinet shop. I am doing the same thing with my new van. Everything needs a dedicated spot so I know where it is and at the end of the day it goes in the same spot.

Dude! That has to be the best tool cart organization I've seen. Everything has a purpose, very efficient, and alot of use in a tiny mobile package. I just picked up a blue US general and added 2 side trays. Definately gave me some insight on setting mine up.

Ryan, super job on the organizing. Very efficient and well thought out. The trouble with the Kaizen foam (besides how expensive it is) is that it takes up too much room. On my box, I tossed the drawer liners and bought 2 rolls of Duck Shelf liner. Nice and thick, very durable. I used some spray adhesive to glue the liner to all 5 drawers, the top compartment, and the bottom tray. Wish I could attach a pic. As for organizing, I have the socket rails from Tekton, where the sockets twist lock on the rail, and they make nice little clips for the side of the rail to hold a ratchet or extension. The rails come with labels, too, but I labeled my sockets because I am not able to see very well. I do like your idea of painting the caster locks red and green, and I will do that to my HF 5 drawer box.

He earns his money from beating the hours on an insurance quote, so of course he's going to be efficient & organized. If you want "base pay" in the collision industry, you're walking back and fourth to the big box. Nice tool cart setup & thanks for taking the time to put your ideas out there for others.
