      Brian did 780 for five (=1RM 877), Martins 803 for five (=1RM 904) and Thor 888 for two (=1RM 914). Brian and Martins are in their last week of Training before contest and Thor has 8 weeks to go. Still Thor did the lifts who were most impressive. We will see if Brian can keep up and close the difference in deadlift to Martins in Santa Monica after building up after his harmstring injury. Even though Brian will beat Martins when it comes to upper body strength, as Martins won't be at 100% due to his nerve issues and Brian has nothing lost in this regard. Thor is the one without major injuries which decrease his performance and he is currently and still the strongest of all three of them it seems.

    Guys, I'm sorry to be the bearer of bad news but:
    1. We're not going to see a 501kg Deadlift at the Arnold Classic. Eddie Hall trained for Months at the Deadlift to get it right.
    2. Brian Shaw's best days are behind him. Hamstring injury or not, he's now where Big Z was... his age is too much of a factor to stay top 3.
    3. Cheer for these Strongman now more then ever before. This isn't a career you stay in for the long hall and even Thor may be considering only 1 to 3 more years of competition before hanging it up. This group is the best of the best!

    • @nicholascameron6603
      @nicholascameron6603 4 роки тому +1

      @Vegans Suck I'm not saying that 500kg will never be broken... it's just not happening this soon at the Arnold. They can put 510kg on the bar, but it won't be lifted.
      With Brian, age is a huge factor. Your body takes longer to recover from intense exercise as well as injury. Keep in mind that Shaw is 6 year's older than Thor. Shaw even admitted that he's had to switch up his training routine to allow for a quicker recovery. That's code for more rest days.

    • @nicholascameron6603
      @nicholascameron6603 4 роки тому

      @Vegans Suck I hope you're right and we see the Deadlift record broken but don't expect it. I can tell you're passionate and a big fan of these guy's but getting stronger doesn't occur in huge leaps and bounds, sometimes it's baby steps. Back in March of 2018, Thor lifted 472kg (1041 lbs). Eddie lifted 500kg (1102 lbs). So Thor needs to add more than 28kg (61 lbs) to the bar for a new record lift. That's not easy - infact it's an Everest climb! The difficulty is also that you can't attempt the record in your home gym, needs to be live. So everyone is saving their best lifts for the Arnold which is literally around the corner. Again... too soon. Thor will do it one day.

    • @nicholascameron6603
      @nicholascameron6603 4 роки тому

      @Vegans Suck Go to the gym and Deadlift your one rep max, then add more than 61 lbs the next year. I will tip my hat off to you if you are able to pull it off. If I am wrong about the attempt and Thor has it in the bag as you claim, I'll revisit this after the Arnold and tell you that you were right. If not, don't comment on Deadlifting.

      @Vegans Sucklike I said... wait until the Arnold and let's see what happens. I think it's too early and I lift bro. Not sure what your numbers are looking like but from the way you talk they must be huge! Since you obviously lift a ton you must clearly know how the human body performs under pressure. My friend, I lift with local power lifters and the addition of 60+ pounds in a year is massive. It takes so much dedication in the gym and your nutrition has to be on point. Just 2 weeks ago, my buddy hit 675 lbs on the Deadlift. He needed two full rest days after that. The amount of physical strain it takes to lift consistently is unfathomable. But why am I telling this to you... you obviously know everything. Don't forget about me... when the Arnold is over and the Eddie Hall Deadlift record is unchanged I'll be sure to reach out and say hi! 👊
