Hi Chris, if you use any at all, I recommend going with silicone dry lube. In some of my old videos where you see me using bearing grease, it was more about getting the ball bearings and springs to stay in place during assembly...and bearing grease has that thick tack to it. I used to think lube helped under the washers, but over time I really didn't notice a significant difference so most of my have none. And at least a few dozen customers over the past couple of years mentioned using silicone dry lube with good results. They seem to use it primarily in their locking pin cavities and also on the faces of their weight plates where the plates come into contact with the discs. Hope this was helpful. Shoot me an email if needed.
Hi Broldak! My parts do fit knockoffs. I own several pairs of SelectTechs including OEM and knockoff 552s and 1090s. They appear in various videos on my channel. My kits are designed to be used with both. I should mention that my Disc Fix Kit and Locking Pin Kit work well with about 95-ish% of OEM and knockoff SelectTechs straight out of the box. That's based on all installations from June 2020 when I first began shipping kits, up to now - a few thousand customers. About 5% of the customer dumbbells I've encountered over the past 2.5+ years do not fit quite like the rest. They don't like my tighter disc tolerances designed to make the dumbbells feel more solid and less loose. Typically they fit tighter than expected as far as sliding the handle in and out of the base, or turning the dials. I attribute it to a number of things including damage, ordinary wear and tear, and dumbbell manufacturing differences such as this: ua-cam.com/video/FWIXejwvSys/v-deo.html and this ua-cam.com/video/gNoCLMKaza4/v-deo.html For these customers, they'd either have to tweak their pins/discs to fit their specific dumbbells, or request a refund and try to find some other used knockoff/OEM parts that fit. As far as my Grip Kits, they've been 100% compatible so far, knock on wood. And the only compatibility issue I've encountered with my Dial Kits is with a couple customer's 552 Series 2 bases that aren't the same shape as nearly all others. Series 1 and 1090 have been great. It appears that out there somewhere, on an unknown number of dumbbells, is a version of the 552 Series 2 base that was ever-so-slightly changed. Fortunately, I have only encountered this a couple times out of hundreds of Dial Kit customers. That base *can* potentially be modified to fit the Dials, but I don't have one here to give it a try. My kids tell me I'm incapable of a simple yes answer. I believe they may be right. LOL But seriously, I hope this was helpful.
What lubricant (if any) do you recommend for the locking pin, as well as any other moving parts?

Hey Joe! do you make parts for knockoffs??
Hi Broldak! My parts do fit knockoffs.
I own several pairs of SelectTechs including OEM and knockoff 552s and 1090s. They appear in various videos on my channel. My kits are designed to be used with both.
