Pretty solid feeling guitar for the price. Clean, simple, workhorse design. I like that it's not just _yet another_ carved-top strat, like too many of the other ones Schecter puts out.
It's amazing how many finishes look 100x better in person than they do in the pics. There's a few Gibson finishes that look craptacular on the websites but look spectacular when you actually see them. Great video Robert.
I recommend this guitar for whoever enjoys playing it. I really don’t pidgeon-hole guitars to specific genres. If I want to grab my Ibanez Xiphos to play a blues jam because to me it plays and sounds good for that application, what do I care what anybody thinks I’m “supposed” to be playing? Maiden have played Strats throughout their entire career, Billy Gibbons plays a T-Bird, John 5 is the biggest Tele fanatic on the planet, and two of the biggest rockers on the planet Joe Perry and Ted Nugent have both been playing hollowbody guitars for decades. Don’t let anybody tell you what YOU should be playing except YOU. 😉
Congrats on your new Schecter! I own 3 different Schecters; The Schecter PT Fastback IIB, the Schecter C-1 Exotic Tremolo and the Schecter PT Special and they all serve me well.
Holy cow! I had an (almost) identical experience before buying this guitar (charcoal burst). Originally played it in a Guitar Center; I was in love with how good the neck felt and the aesthetics but didn't pull the trigger before the guitar was sold. Almost a year goes by and I was back and forth between buying a PRS, the Schecter SLS Elite, Ibanez S61AL. Found a used CR-6 online at a reasonable price, in excellent conditions (minus the allen wrenches) and made the sale. I have a little string buzz on the G-string but it plays beautifully!! In my opinion, this guitar may be one of the best-bang-for-your-bucks out there. Excellent choice Robert!!
Man, crazy. Same deal here. Been eyeballing the same guitar and finish for about a year. Ended up buying an SLS Elite at the time, but this one kept gnawing at me. I didn't care for the pickups. FF to this past Saturday, I find one used online with a Duncan JB and Jazz already swapped into it. Got it delivered just yesterday. I'm super happy with mine as well. And the finish on mine is stunning as well. Congrats, Robert!

I wouldn’t consider either one of them to be “the best”, just different. They’ve got similar finishes and the same body style, but the similarities end there as the two models have entirely different specs. The body woods, construction types, pickups, and electronics are all different.
a friend of mine has one CR6 pro. The guitar is awesome. Tha pickups, whatever they are, are great for metal playing. Clear sound, nice bite... I really like them a lot.
It’s one of the best guitar values on the market right now. The pickups are Schecter USA Apocalypse pickups (as opposed to their import electronics that you see in a lot of their lower end guitars). I don’t know what they’re modeled after, but they sure do sound killer. I play mine all the time and I’ve never even considered changing anything out.
Very cool, you got to always love new guitar day. I had a Schecter not to long ago, mine was the full Apocalypse with the sandblasted ash. I loved how it felt and looked but that got traded in for a massive upgrade. However I have always loved their burl tops with the matching headstock.
My name is Sawyer, I'm using my wife's account. I bought this guitar last Friday on sale at guitar center. man oh man, it is so sweet. It's the sweetest guitar I own, besides my '69 strat. Best bang for the buck, hands down.
I generally don’t do them because I hate them and I think they’re boring as hell. But in this case, I wanted everybody to see exactly what it was like straight out of the box.
I have one of these. Love it! I put duncans (59 and jb) in though since the stock pickups were a bit hot for me. Also, i did duncan smooth pots and crl usa blade switch, which barely fits in that shallow cavity.
Bought the same auquaburst yesterday at GC. Beautiful top...and the neck was very smooth and easy to play. It absolutely crushes power chords on Marshall Plexi.
Yep, they’re great guitars. Possibly the best bang-for-your-buck guitar on the market today. Mine’s a couple years old now and I still play it all the time.
Two variants of the same guitar. Near as I can tell, the specs are identical except for the pickups. I’ve not heard the Decimator pickups that come in the C-6 Pro, but I’d be surprised if they were much different from the Apocalypse pickups in the CR-6.
Mine came out of whack. I had to adjust everything from neck relief to action and intonation. It took me an hour or so to get it perfect. 1.3mm action measured at the 12th on low E et 0.8mm on the high E, a little bit of buzz fret but nothing that plays through the amp. If the sustain is good enough I do with a little bit of buzz fret in order to get very low action
That’s surprising to me. I just had to make a few minor adjustments to mine right out of the box because it was already just about perfect, and I haven’t needed to adjust a thing on mine since I then, and mine’s a few years old now. It’s STILL set up how I like it. It rarely even pulls out of tune. It’s been as rock solid of a guitar as any other that I’ve ever owned, and I’ve owned a lot of guitars.
@@RobertWJackson It buzzed pretty much everywhere. A simple truss rod adjustment made it play right but action was pretty high for a shredder guitare I'd say (but I'm a beginner strictly speaking so I may be mistaken). It was around 2.5mm on low E and 2mm on high E measured on the 12th fret.
They make that one in a lefty also. I've been kinda thinking about it. I know they have other colors and finishes. But that's what they gave us leefties....Nice guitar.

Schecter usually sets their guitars up and make sure they are stable before sending them out. They used to come into my store with no issues. If they need a neck adjustment etc they prolly sat around a larger stores warehouse or distribution center before being sent to you. I have had my eyes on a Banshee 7FR with sustainiac for a bit now :)

@@RobertWJackson Ah. Reaper definitely seems like the better buy, specs wise, at the same price. The glossy body on the CR6 (especially aqua burst) grew on me a lot, though.

Those aren’t cracks, that’s wood grain. The fretboards on a lot of import guitars aren’t sanded with uber-fine sandpaper, which also seals the pores. Yours also looks a bit dried out. Hit it with some lemon oil or whatever your fretboard conditioner of choice is and it’ll be fine.

Yeah, it sure would be. But I don’t think my viewership is anywhere near big enough that Schecter or any other major guitar company would consider that as a good investment. But if I were in the market for guitar endorsements, Schecter is definitely one of the companies that I would seriously consider! 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
Man that's a lot of HUM...
She's beautiful!
Thanks!
What the fuck is that hum?
Please catch your breath lol
When you buy a guitar off the internet, there's always going to need repairs.
Not this one. A slight neck adjustment and it was ready to go.
actually no one believes me but I have bought 4 guitars on ebay and guitarcenter and i havent got a bad one yet... as a matter of fact both companies as long as you look at where and who your getting from will be insured....
@@corryburton2660 Good to know. I'm a man who likes walking in the store and get a feel of a guitar before buying it.You can't do that on the internet. Have fun playing your new guitars.
@@howardcunniffe8738 I do understand trust me but im just saying I have had really good luck... although I would stick with a brand i knew....
@@corryburton2660 I never said I didn't trust you.I'm just saying I'd rather walk into a store and get a feel of the instrument before buying it.Plus right now I don't need to buy another guitar.I'm fine with the 2 I've got.
i just got one of these. does your fretboard have a bunch of little cracks in it? this is what mine looks like- i.imgur.com/MF4Boky.jpg
