"Thank you so much" I'm almost done writing my 1st book. Now I'm working on my next project a film script using google docs for writing. This really gives me good direction on how to format it and get my script going. Thanks a million.
Yo if anyone is having a problem with the margins, it could be your docs version uses empirical not the metric values, in that case use 3.81cm for the 1.5 inch left margin and 2.54cm for the rest.
Does anyone know, should the whole script be double spaced? Or something like 1.5 spaced? Also, are lines of space like when ou hit enter needed between dialogue paragraphs, action lines, and slug lines for industry standard? Thanks!
with the finished screenplay (139 pages) on Google Docs.... how can i register it with... the WGA? I tried to copy it to notepad and register it with the writers guild of america but the format is all messed up and shoved to the left..... will WGA accept that? i cant copy the link and register it... it doesnt work that way
Am quite sure text copied to notepad from any script writing program will remove TABs and alignments as those dont exist in notepads txt files. I am not in US so not clear about screenwriter guild submissions, but mostly export pdf send to producers, cast and crew. Not sure why they require such a dated text file system.
Is there a way to navigate through your script with Fountanize, as there is with programs such as Fadein, where you can scroll on a window on the right side of your screen and jump to a specific scene?
Yes, what I do is make the scene heading and actual heading. So first highlight your scene heading and then go over to where it says "normal text' and click on that, then hover over heading 1 and then click "update heading 1 to match" then it will automatically load onto the side. Then the next time you need to do it you can just highlight the heading and go over to normal text and click heading 1.
Google docs is via web browser no install needed, only on phone or tablet you might want to install the app version so not working via browser and can also work offline.
No, just have new slugline or scene heading and keep going on same page, unless you are already too close to the bottom of the page the start new page a bit better.
Anything you script you need to learn about and there are video and articles about shots framing and transitions which teach you about what meaning they add to the scenes.

Thank you so much for this!!! Please do make more of this
How is your spacing on the title so perfect it’s not to together or to far!
If I write quite long dialogue, will it go all the way to the right of the page?

I’m probably late but I’m pretty sure nowadays it’s single spaced. It used to be double spaced but I think people now do single spaced

How do I start a new paragraph
Do you start a new page for a new scene?
No, just have new slugline or scene heading and keep going on same page, unless you are already too close to the bottom of the page the start new page a bit better.
If we don't know about transitions and shots then how to write script then??

apparently you're not supposed to show Page 1 FYI
