My other thought is that, I have learned if I have been using one brand far longer than the other, it’s easier to stamp a much higher approval for the one I’ve formed a great familiarization, and bond with, opposed to the new, more foreign brand. Each brand would need to be given an equal amount of time of use. I definitely see a distinct difference in the two brands. I wouldn’t even mind using both.
Agreed again! I did enjoy using the Arteza markers, and maybe I am more biased towards the Posca Pens because of their popularity. I think that we all tend to subconsciously choose art supplies based on popularity of brands from time to time, but there is always room for brands to improve, even those that we hold so high and praise to be the best! (:
U appreciate your honesty, lol. I was about to say that it seems like Arteza never stood a chance. Mediately you were using negative descriptive words about them but as an artist I get it! I really do. We fall in love with ideas and we fall in love with our favorite tools, toys and products. 🥰 The Posca has done well for you for a long time. "If it ain't broke don't fix it", right?! 😆😆 That said, thank you for doing this price. I have been struggling to figure out which brand to spend my money on. I need something that is bright, brilliant, solid and opaque, not streaky and translucent. So it seems like Posce would be the brand for me and I could buy specific colors separately of the Arteza. Thanks again and I loved both landscapes ❤️
I’m seriously so glad I clicked on this video. You basically answered all my questions about these two brands. I like using the gradient method for my works, and my question was how opaque arteza would be for that purpose. Thank you so much for making this! It was EXACTLY what I needed! 💯 Also, oddly enough, I like the Arteza piece more.
I have used many brands of acrylic paint markers, including Posca. I prefer Arteza over Posca. I think people think because something is expensive makes it better, I’ve also used no name markers that are just as good.
I tried to keep the colors close, unfortunately the Arteza markers didn't quite match the lid color for every marker, but that is to be expected with most markers. (:

Thank you so much! I definitely agree that perspective can be based on experience, but regardless it is always fun to try new things and see how they work! (:
To me every marker has it's own use and ive looked into both kinds of drawings with arteza and posca and to me arteza are meant for more realistic drawings compared to posca for a pop or anime/cartoon style but everybody has a different opinion on what they like and use.
This was a really good video. Mira Byler does the blending this in her Starbucks cups video, but that was maybe the UA-camr you were referring to. I haven't tried paint markers. I kinda want to now.
I believe that I was thinking of Mira Byler, I love her videos! I appreciate you leaving such kind words, if you have the opportunity to use paint markers I definitely recommend them! (:

Hey, I think that this video was very well made, the music, the camera, the lighting. I kind of assumed you were a very popular artist and got surprised by the low view count. That just tells me you've got a lot of potential especially in the video to compete quality wise. The biggest issue was I think you might of both overused and under utilized aspects of the pen. I think it would of been useful to do some smaller tests like hearts, or shapes. Layering the different colours. (Black on white, white on black). On the video the Arteza pens looked more vivid and bright which was in contrast to your commentary which tells me that the arteza markers have something pigment wise which for some reason makes it looks brighter on camera. There were a few moments you sounded frustrated and I think part of that was both projects were very big and time consuming and that you were disappointed with aspects of the pens that they never advertised for. (Mixing them with water) Which isn't bad! Its just I would of wanted to see more examples of seeing how the Arteza's did with layering up close though! And maybe some tests with art that is more pop and less painterly in style not because the art was bad, it was good! But because those are things posca does well with and I wonder if Arteza would too. So in conclusion, I think you did an exceedingly impressive and professional video but that your focus on doing two finished pieces that were quite large took away from testing the features individually n a controlled matter and that the project might of taken over the later half of the video. I think you can only get better from here. Have a good day.
Thank you so much for this comment! I truly appreciate the constructive feedback. I think that I was trying to accomplish so much in one video that a lot really got away from me. I have been think that I may do a part two to this video in order to cover a bit more information that I may have skipped over or didn't touch on at all. I attempted to create that bold and "pop"ish look that you usually see with Posca art, however my style of art kind of ended up creeping its way in and the final piece looked a lot different from what I originally had planned. I definitely plan on using these markers again in future videos, I will try to cover more info on them in said videos as well. Thank you for you support, and again thank you for taking the time to let me know what I need to improve on in the future. I hope you have a great week and you're staying safe! (:
AllyVine Art subbing to see ur possible part 2. Also u jumped from like 47 to 61 subs in just a few hours. I as surprised u didnt have more when i was trying to check out ur other videos. ur doing a good job
I absolutely agree with you and also believe that Arteza appeared to be more vibrant in color with the end results. I enjoyed the video but wanted to see more of the comparisons you mentioned. I'm in the market for purchasing a bulk set of paint markers and rely on some of these videos to make an informed but wise decision on my purchase.
Thank you for this. As a new acrylic artist I rushed and bought Arteza before knowing about the Posca trend going on in the community and was wondering if it was worth investing in more pens now that I know. This video helped a lot. I think it’s good to have both, if you like marker art
I SUPER love your "blending" method. It looks very cool. Smooth blends aren't so hard, though. A quick swipe of the finger between two wet puddles does the trick. Not as cool looking as the dash transition though!
I've always wanted to try the Molotow markers but they've been a bit too spendy for me. I have heard great things and hope that I can try them out for myself at some point!
Arteza Colors.... are simple one the best brand made in the USA, and extraordinary quality, I use for years this brand , Is a breathtaking Colors ...... by the way they always have great discounts and the Help for the customers is fenomenal .....
The more I watch youtubers use posca pens, the more tempted I am to buy them. Any suggestions on a starter set? Also the slow motion tape removal was very satisfying. Thx for that!!
No problem, thanks so much for watching! I know that Posca marker sets are usually a bit spendy, so if you are able to just get the single markers that might be the best option because you never know if you'll like the medium until you try it. I have the 15 count set which, on Amazon, retails for 40 dollars American, but you can also get and 8 count set on Amazon for 20 dollars American, which I think is a much better option for a starter set. I know that craft stores like Micheals and Hobby Lobby also sell the single markers, so this is also an option if you want to pick and choose colors. Hope this helps!
The Arteza pen nibs that are supplied in the pens can be taken out and turned around, so you have a large bullet tip and a finer tip, plus the spare nibs which are chisel one end and fine on the other end. They work really well over dark colours. I'd have been interested to see you do the comparison on black card, so we could compare the opacity. I find you have to shake and pump the Arteza pens quite a lot as you go along.
I just posted a part 2 to this video in which I test on black paper with both products! I also found that the Arteza markers needed to be shaken a lot more, but they still work great for a budget marker!
I definitely prefer the sky in the Arteza piece because of the better variety of shades. Posca wins in terms of opacity, the blue and brown didn't struggle to show up over the navy and black.
I make quite a bit art with poscas, my biggest downfall with them is how they mess up the paper. I’ve looked into may different types of paper but the best one for me is the Stratford marker paper, it still pills but not as much as the previous paper I’ve used. I also recommend buying japanese poscas on Amazon bc the Japanese ones are cheaper and since they’re on Amazon u don’t need to wait for a store to get stock Good luck :)
It is pretty tough to find a good paper that works with paint markers, I'm glad you've found something that works! The paper I used in this video worked alright, but I think I may take advice from you and try the paper you recommended! I'm definitely going to look at those Japanese poscas on amazon, I'm always looking for more colors! Thank you for your support and your advice! 😁
I know you say the Posca pen one is brighter, but i don’t see that. I think arteza pens look better. The sky in arteza is amazing. Thanks for doing this. #teamarteza
That isn't a skinny nib... That is the part of the nib that is supposed to go into the ink inside to draw it through the nib to the chisel tip. The choices for the nibs are the bullet nib that come with, and a chisel tip option you can switch to.....
@@LePetitChatNoir79 Never said she couldn't. Just letting her know why they weren't the best quality at that point. I wouldn't want someone to come to a review and decide not to get the Arteza ones because they think the nibs are bad.. when really they were just not the correct end if the nib. No need to be rude about it.
@@lemontea4587 I didnt say she did. .-. But I do know looking at the video I'd see the tip and how its fraying and think it was poor quality. Because I did think that, until I realized what she did. :p Please stop trying to demonize me for point out her mistake. I was just trying to help her understand that she was using the nibs wrong which could have an effect on the outcome. Good grief.
I would love to purchase the arteza paint markers one day and you also deserve more subscribers girl! 😄 And question, are you gonna review more art products whether cheap, expensive, recognizable, and obscure such as Crayola like their crayons ( the 24 pack is my absolute favourite ), Faber Castell Classic colour pencils and watercolour pencils ( which I have 1 of them that is the 24 Watercolour Pencils set ), and Pentel Oil Pastels Set ( which unlike the others having 24 colours which I normally bought this one has 25 Oil Pastels and they are surprisingly pigmented but difficult to blend unless I use heat ).
Thank you so much more the support! I do absolutely plan on reviewing a ton of other art supplies, I am actually working on another review that should be up this week! But I have a wide range of ideas of things to review and yes, they vary from cheap to expensive supplies! Make sure to be on the lookout for more videos this week! 😄
I dont know if its just because i like the color combo on the arteza more but i think that piece is my favorite, both are really pretty though!! I hope you get more subs, this was v easy to watch and enjoy :3c
I use the stippling to blend POSCAS. I learnt it when working with ink and ball points and when i used POSCAs and found they didn't blend, I used this to blend them. However, I don't use them like this. I actually use lots and and lots of dots to blend them together. Also, finer tips work better but they are so much more time consuming. Although, i like this style, too.
I love the posca pens and we sell them at the art store I work at but my *god* are they expensive, even with my employee discount, especially for the limited amount of colors they put in their packs! I have been looking for an alternative!
It seems like the prices just keep going up too which is a bummer. I've noticed that more local (not chain) art supply stores charge a bit more, which is understandable because its a smaller business, but it definitely sucks for us artists 😭 Definitely try the Arteza ones, I also will be posting a review for another alternative brand here in the next week or so, make sure to keep an eye out for that as well! 😁
Arteza is a very good brand to start with, and some people have a lot of success creating impressive works of art with these markers. Personally, I like the consistency of the Posca's a bit more, but overall the Arteza's are still quite good for the price!
Great Video. Thank you. I'm looking to paint on leather and don't know which brand to use. I tend to like access to making fine details, which makes the Arteza seem a better choice. Do you know which is best for drawing on leather? Also, if I need to apply a protective coat for either one after the drawing on leather?
Thank you so much! I just used the Canson mixed media paper, it crumbled a bit when working on these pieces but overall it held up pretty well, I would definitely recommend this paper for paint markers!
I do not have Posca Pens but am going to buy them. My Arteza Markers are too transparent. For surface design work, opacity is a must. Arteza is just not opaque enough.
I am looking for some Markers that you can use to paint Statues that you make with Clay. But I don't know what the Markers are called. can anyone help me out?
The Posca pens are not difficult to find in the states. Thats 100 percent untrue. They are actually one of the most readily available paint marker brands out there. They come in singles and sets. You can get them on Amazon, Michaels, cheap joes and just about every art supply and craft store in all major cities and online. Arteza on the other hand I've personally only seen on Amazon.
Personally speaking, I have had a hard time finding them in the states. My local art supply stores and even the bigger chains are almost always out of stock on all color/nib options for Posca pens. I wasn't speaking as though it was a fact, I was stating my personal experience in acquiring the markers. They are definitely in abundance online, but the prices online are usually steeper than physical craft stores, from what I have seen.
Fabulous and well executed demonstration. Very thorough in conveying the details of both! Thanks for this demonstration. I hope that you will do more with many other different media. Namaste
If you are looking for pics pens try Jo-Ann’s I found a stand although I mistook the metallic for black so be careful when reading the colors and check each shade on the stand.
Isn't one of the things with Posca that you can get just a single color if you want to? And I'm not sure if Arteza lets you do that, just order one color. I don't have either, but would want to start with a white and black Posca.
What paper did you use? I've been wanting some posca pens for a while, and bless my mum she got me some arteza' s for Christmas and it chewed my art paper up!
I actually made a video where I used both of these markers together, I posted the video a couple of months ago! I haven't tried these particular markers with any other brand other than each other, but they both worked well together. So I would imagine that as long as you're using acrylic paint markers with these markers they should work well! 😁
My arteza paint markers came in a cardboard box the only plastic was the tray the markers were in and the bag the extra nibs came in. Also on artezas website they're cheaper. Like I bought the 42 set and I paid $43 dollars without shipping. So it's about a dollar in change per marker. Where is a $16 count of posca pens are $28.99 at walmart.
Arteza usually has a lot of sales that help with the price, I just used Amazon because that's where I bought my particular set. It' good to see that they switched to cardboard though, I definitely would've preferred that packaging. But for the price, I think Arteza markers are great!
I tried Arteza and was very disappointed. They started to dry after the first use and were not easy to revive. Also, the light blue was almost darker as normal blue, with some green hue. Pink was really magenta. In other hand, I'm neither happy with Posca... the paintings look like shalk and I have constant problems with watery and dried markers. Have not found my brand yet.
So, this is late and I didn't catch it, but you blended with water correct? Even though they are acrylic, you might have seen better results if you used some form of Alcohol based liquid. I don't know if it would work the same with the pens, but I know if you use it with other acrylic paints say for example Acrylic house paint, you can thin it with something like Vodka without losing pigment, but again I don't know if it would work the same with pens. Loved the video!
Thank you so much for the support! I used Canson watercolor paper, it pilled up just a little bit in a few spots but overall it was the best experience as far as paper goes with paint markers that I have had thus far. Hope this helps!
Very true! I personally enjoy when companies provide packaging that also functions as good storage, makes it easier to keep it all neat, but I can see why some people don't mind it 😁
They both would definitely work for calligraphy, I haven't personally used them for calligraphy but I have seen people do it and as long as you're careful they should work out great! As for being on the canvas, I would think that they would work but you would have to be pretty careful, the canvas is usually pretty textured and the paint pens have a tendency to splatter on uneven surfaces. However, if you go slow and are meticulous with your lines, I would think they would work just fine!
This is a good video. OwO but DO NOT USE WATER WITH ACRYLIC PAINT. It is not meant for this medium. I found the best thing to use with acrylic paint is airbrush medium. It makes the paint usable without messing with the opacity.
@@allyvineart574 no prob I am actually using both the posca and Arteza. they both have their strengths and weaknesses. though I swap from paint markers and acrylic paint. I make custom shoes and love to glaze them with folk art Holo glitter finish..
I am not absolutely positive on that, however a lot of people pointed out a lot of different things that I missed in regard to the Arteza markers so I will be making a part 2 video to answer all of these questions, I will definitely make sure to test this as well!
@@allyvineart574 great, cause I am looking for some cheaper paint makers than Posca to draw on stones. But the colours need to be waterproof. So I am waiting for your second video :)
I know that people have used Posca markers on denim after first priming the clothing with a layer of white fabric paint. I'm not totally certain about the Arteza markers on denim, I would imagine they would work similarly, however it seems like the Arteza markers are a bit more watery, so it would likely take multiple layers and I would definitely use some sort of sealant on the clothing after you finish your artwork. As for washing, I'm not totally sure how either marker would react after multiple washes, but if you do create art on clothing with either of these markers definitely hand wash and hang to dry, I wouldn't risk throwing them in the washer or dryer. You could also get a scrap piece of denim from old pants and try the marker of your choice on the fabric first, then see how it lasts in the wash before creating a full piece on your pants. I know this wasn't terribly helpful, but I am hoping for the best for you! 😁
I have never personally used either marker on glass, though I know for certain that Posca markers can be used on glass. Because of the similarities, I would think the Arteza markers would work as well! You probably don't HAVE to put anything on top of them, but if its something that is exposed to weather or people/things touching it, I would definitely put a light clear coating on top. I will be making a part two to this video, I will see if I can test both of these on glass!
They both can be used on either surface, although for the wood it would be best to lay down a layer of gesso or white paint before hand so that the paint from the markers doesn't bleed throughout the wood, and you'll get brighter colors this way! I also suggest putting gesso down on stone if it is a darker stone, just for brighter colors and to allow the paint from the markers to stick to the stone a bit better! 😁
I've only personally used the real brush pens, and I think that they're pretty great! Although I have never used their watercolor pencils, I have heard amazing things and in my opinion I feel you would have better blending control and color variation with the pencils. I just feel that they're a bit more versatile. The water brush pens, although nice, are really more focused on a marker like watercolor effect, while I would think the pencils could give you a bit more control and a more realistic feel to your art. These are just my opinions, but I hope they helped!
For some reason, I can't find the Posca Pen Navy Blue color ANYwhere.. ?? And I mean the thick variant you're using in this video. I can only find them in the fine nib version...
I only have one because it came with a set that I purchased, I know as of late Posca Pens are pretty hard to come by. Have you checked Blick's website? I know for sure that they sell lots of single Posca markers, they may have one! Otherwise I'm not sure where else to look, my local craft stores are always sold out of every color. I hope you find one!
@@allyvineart574 Yea but nobody sells the thicker version. ;D It's really weird cause I've seen other people use one as well! They aren't even on the official Posca website anymore so I don't know what happened to them but I don't think I'll be able to find one :(
Honestly I didn't pay too much attention to this when trying them both out, if anything the Arteza markers may have been just the slightest bit more rough on the paper than the Poscas, but overall I don't think that it was so bad that you would really notice it. Both markers were fine with the paper!
I’ve tried pretty much every paint marker available and for me Arteza make the worst ones. They are not opaque, they streak, they dry shiny and sticky. There are other brands which have a cheaper price tag than Posca that are much better alternatives such as pilot pintor. I don’t want to sound like I just don’t like Arteza, I have used and still use many of their products and I’m generally a fan of them. However the paint markers are just bad.
I would think that both of these markers would function fairly well with drawing on a skateboard depending on what part. If you're drawing on the grip part I'm not too sure how it would work, but if you're drawing on the board itself I would think that it would work 😁
My bf's dad used posca pens and they worked well but i imagine both would work. Since there's more colours in the arteza pack, that might be worth looking into???
Did u shake these all vigorously before use? That prevents streakiness with posca most times.
I did, it may just be because its the first time I've really used them.

@@allyvineart574 Aw you too! I'll keep an eye out for anymore videos you do!
Thank you, I appreciate your support!
I'm glad that the video helped! Thank you so much for your kind words and support!
I SUPER love your "blending" method. It looks very cool.
Smooth blends aren't so hard, though. A quick swipe of the finger between two wet puddles does the trick. Not as cool looking as the dash transition though!
Thanks for the tip!
Dude that blending technique is awesome! I will definitely be trying it someday
I really like the gradient effect! What type of paper were you using?
Thank you! I used the Canson Mixed Media paper, nothing too special but holds up great for these markers! (:
Also what size paper was this
The paper is 7x10 inches, just the paper pulled straight from the pad! (:
@@allyvineart574 Might want to change your description then, it says Canson Watercolor paper.
I actually just did a piece with the gradient stippling. Good stuff. I use a combo of a Posca and Molotow pump markers on a lot of my work.
I've always wanted to try the Molotow markers but they've been a bit too spendy for me. I have heard great things and hope that I can try them out for myself at some point!
@@allyvineart574 molotow one4all are the best acrylic markers hands down, totally worth the money
Arteza Colors....
are simple one the best brand made in the USA, and extraordinary quality, I use for years this brand , Is a breathtaking Colors ...... by the way they always have great discounts and the Help for the customers is fenomenal .....
I do enjoy most of Arteza's products, but there is always room for improvement on any brand!
Thank you! I am getting some for my little nephew and i dont think he will mind the Arteza this was perfect thank you!
Great video, very helpful but the music is a bit to loud imo.
Any basic set works. LOVE posca
I also recommend buying japanese poscas on Amazon bc the Japanese ones are cheaper and since they’re on Amazon u don’t need to wait for a store to get stock
Good luck :)
@@allyvineart574 no problem! Poscas are tricky but once you figure out what works you can kinda find a flow :)
I think I will take a gamble on the Arteza pens at just over $1 each and round out my color palette with posca pens. Thanks for the comparison review,
I know you say the Posca pen one is brighter, but i don’t see that. I think arteza pens look better. The sky in arteza is amazing. Thanks for doing this. #teamarteza
Thank you so much! It definitely looks different on camera compared to seeing it in person. I'm glad that you enjoyed this! 😄
That isn't a skinny nib... That is the part of the nib that is supposed to go into the ink inside to draw it through the nib to the chisel tip. The choices for the nibs are the bullet nib that come with, and a chisel tip option you can switch to.....
I assumed it was a skinny nib as the nibs that came already in the markers were much larger on both ends, my mistake 🤷♀️
Pretty sure she can use them however she wants. 🙂
Enocia she never said the nibs were bad though
Both pieces are beautiful, but I think I like more the "messy" feeling of the arteza one. Thanks for the video ♥️
Thank you for watching, I'm glad you enjoyed!
This was really good thank you. I hope you come back your content is great.
Arteza is good because it blend so much than the posca markers
I dont know if its just because i like the color combo on the arteza more but i think that piece is my favorite, both are really pretty though!! I hope you get more subs, this was v easy to watch and enjoy :3c
Thank you so much! I still haven't quite decided which one I like more 😅😂
Oh he did say u could try a fixTIVE ON THE Paper. which will keep it from soaking up the moisture as fast. I wonder how canvas or gesso woul work?
Hey gurrllll
It's so beautiful I loved the way u did the gradient between the colours 😍😍
(P.s GIRL UR TATTO IS SO FREAKING GOOOOODDDD😍😍😍😍👌👌👌)
Thank you so much! I appreciate your support and your taste in tattoos 😉😄
That's a great idea! I'll have to try this sometime!
All I can say:
You are an amazing artist and you did an outstanding job!!
(I sound like a kindergarten teacher XD)
Thank you so much! Any validation is good validation 🤷♀️😂

Are the nibs that come in the markers also dual tip like the replacement nibs that you can just flip them?
Which brand had more vibrant colors?
Which brand would you suggest for craft painting and rocks?
Thanks
I love the posca pens and we sell them at the art store I work at but my *god* are they expensive, even with my employee discount, especially for the limited amount of colors they put in their packs! I have been looking for an alternative!
It seems like the prices just keep going up too which is a bummer. I've noticed that more local (not chain) art supply stores charge a bit more, which is understandable because its a smaller business, but it definitely sucks for us artists 😭 Definitely try the Arteza ones, I also will be posting a review for another alternative brand here in the next week or so, make sure to keep an eye out for that as well! 😁
I live in japan and theyre pretty cheap ngl… but then i look at prices online and😳😳 (u can also find them in like supermarkets and stuff)
I wasn’t sure which one to get but I ended up with arteza.... was it a good choice? It was £20 for 20 pens and posca are £40 for 10 pens
Oh like these paintings!!!! What kind of paper do you use? Mine is getting crumbly when I use Posca Pens🤷♀️
Thank you so much! I just used the Canson mixed media paper, it crumbled a bit when working on these pieces but overall it held up pretty well, I would definitely recommend this paper for paint markers!
@@allyvineart574 thank you so much😊
FYI: the Arteza nibs are reversible (or how I have seen them used) as the chisle tip has a fine point etc
I do not have Posca Pens but am going to buy them. My Arteza Markers are too transparent. For surface design work, opacity is a must. Arteza is just not opaque enough.
I now have my Posca Pens. Love them!!! Better than Arteza. Will let the kids use up my Arteza acrylic markers.
I detect a bit of bias here, this Arteza markers seem pretty legit from where I’m sitting. Both beautiful pieces btw, well done
I am looking for some Markers that you can use to paint Statues that you make with Clay.
But I don't know what the Markers are called.
can anyone help me out?
Awesome video! I’m going to be looking into buying the Arteza Markers now. Thanks! ❤️😊
Glad it was helpful!
They both look AMAZIMG! Thank you for sharing the video. Very helpful.
Thank you! I'm so glad you enjoyed!
Not sure if I like the 2nd drawing better bc you learned from the first drawing or the colors are a tad different But both brands are still great
Thanks for your review. I'll stick with Posca
Fabulous and well executed demonstration. Very thorough in conveying the details of both! Thanks for this demonstration. I hope that you will do more with many other different media. Namaste
Thank you very much!
If you are looking for pics pens try Jo-Ann’s I found a stand although I mistook the metallic for black so be careful when reading the colors and check each shade on the stand.
*posca sorry for the auto correct
Awesome, thank you!
Great video! Very helpful as I’m wanting to try them!!
I'm glad my video helped! Thank you for your support!
Isn't one of the things with Posca that you can get just a single color if you want to? And I'm not sure if Arteza lets you do that, just order one color. I don't have either, but would want to start with a white and black Posca.
You can get single colors of Posca pens, but recently they're hard to come by
Honestly, I like both but the arteza is more vibrant!!! I love the arteza one!
Thank you!
Nicely done
Different kinds of pens
I use both
Thanks!
Have you ever tried the molotow pens I find they are better than the poscas
What paper did you use?
I've been wanting some posca pens for a while, and bless my mum she got me some arteza' s for Christmas and it chewed my art paper up!
I used a thick watercolor paper, I believe it was Canson brand. It definitely held up well and I would absolutely reccomend it for Posca art!
Thank you! Can you mix brands of markers, or is it not a good idea? I was thinking you could use the Arteza to supplement some of the missing colors?
I actually made a video where I used both of these markers together, I posted the video a couple of months ago! I haven't tried these particular markers with any other brand other than each other, but they both worked well together. So I would imagine that as long as you're using acrylic paint markers with these markers they should work well! 😁
Thanks for this review, do you know if these Arteza markers work on that many surfaces as posca?
I haven't tested them on any other surfaces, but I plan to for future videos!
I never even thought about this, I'll have to try it! Thanks!
I like both of your pieces- thanks for the review!
Glad you like them! Thank you!
Thanks for posting! Can you say what kind of paper you were painting on and whether it shredded?
Thank you so much for the support! I used Canson watercolor paper, it pilled up just a little bit in a few spots but overall it was the best experience as far as paper goes with paint markers that I have had thus far. Hope this helps!
Great video! I love both Arteza and Posca!
Thank you very much! I thought that they were both great markers!
You can blend Posca colors on a palette or on paper immediately before the paint is half dry
I did my best doing this, I guess I was too slow 🤷♀️😂
Really I love how you do the blending method, I have to try it...thanks for this amazing video it was helpful...💜
Thank you! I wasn't too sure if it would work well but I don't think it was too bad, I hope you're able to find success with it!
It's so fascinating seeing a whole new art medium develop!
Thank you for watching!
I would love to see Poscas compared to Tooli-Art acrylic paint pens.
So coool, please keep posting
I've got some stuff I'm working on!
I mean the packaging does not madder the most! It is the pens everyone buys it for....
Very true! I personally enjoy when companies provide packaging that also functions as good storage, makes it easier to keep it all neat, but I can see why some people don't mind it 😁
Do you suggest either of these for calligraphy on canvas? Or do you suggest any others?
Thanks for the tip!
@@allyvineart574 no prob I am actually using both the posca and Arteza. they both have their strengths and weaknesses. though I swap from paint markers and acrylic paint. I make custom shoes and love to glaze them with folk art Holo glitter finish..
are the arteza markers water proof after they dried or still water solvable? I am not sure, cause they are water based but acrylic...
Which works better for denim pants and doesn't fade after multiple wash?
@@allyvineart574 this is very helpful :) thank you so much. I'm so inspired to create my own customize brown jeans now yayy
Kasey Golden has a couple of videos about posca/paint markers !!
I absolutely love her videos! She is definitely an inspiration for my art and this specific video 😁
Can you use either of these markers on glass? To make them permanent do you need to put something on top of them?
I have never personally used either marker on glass, though I know for certain that Posca markers can be used on glass. Because of the similarities, I would think the Arteza markers would work as well! You probably don't HAVE to put anything on top of them, but if its something that is exposed to weather or people/things touching it, I would definitely put a light clear coating on top. I will be making a part two to this video, I will see if I can test both of these on glass!
Your voice is so calming :0
Thank you!
When i will get this
The arteza and posca can be for any surfaces? Like stone or wood?
They both can be used on either surface, although for the wood it would be best to lay down a layer of gesso or white paint before hand so that the paint from the markers doesn't bleed throughout the wood, and you'll get brighter colors this way! I also suggest putting gesso down on stone if it is a darker stone, just for brighter colors and to allow the paint from the markers to stick to the stone a bit better! 😁
@@allyvineart574 thank you for answering my question and for the advice! ❤️
I enjoyed the comparison. Thanks. (The art is cool, too!)
Glad you enjoyed it!
I am in a denimma on whether I should buy the arteza real brush pens or arteza watercolor pencils.
Can someone tell me which one is better?
Please!
@@allyvineart574 thank you so much!

They aren't even on the official Posca website anymore so I don't know what happened to them but I don't think I'll be able to find one :(
Love this. Please make more videos like this!

I can kinda blend the Arteza markers by applying the ink then using my finger to blend.....haha my way.... fingerstyle!
Thats a great idea! I will definitely need to try this!
How did the Artezas compare to the podcast in making the paper deteriorate?
Honestly I'm team posca pens cause you can get different sizes nibs and they are very opaque but expensive
I agree!
2nd one looks better imo
Look that peeling though😍😍😍😍
Thank you!
do they do flesh tones?
From what I've seen Posca has a handful of flesh toned markers, but I don't believe that Arteza has any flesh tones in the paint markers specifically
@@allyvineart574 thank you
What if we want to draw on a skateboard?
I would think that both of these markers would function fairly well with drawing on a skateboard depending on what part. If you're drawing on the grip part I'm not too sure how it would work, but if you're drawing on the board itself I would think that it would work 😁
My bf's dad used posca pens and they worked well but i imagine both would work. Since there's more colours in the arteza pack, that might be worth looking into???
