Well salute to you , for getting under there and doing it yourself. Truck looks clean ....very video , god bless . Happy new yr .you have inspired me even more to continuing to work on my 89 gmc sierra, early stages, its a plow truck for north jersey area ...more of a project for me ...but very nice congratulations 🎊
Very good job, for your first time replacing the catalytic converter Betty 👍 You removed both O 2 sensor's without ( busting your knuckle's). It looked like Mr. poncho wanted to help you.🛠️🔧. God Bless you and your Husband.
I've never seen anyone with so much patience and your so nice. I enjoyed watching your video. Thank you you did a fantastic job. I'm going to subscribe to your channel. You deserve it. I feel like if more people knew about your channel. You would get alot of subscribers. Tons. Thank you. I wonder where you got the catalytic converters from? Maybe you have them in description. I'll check. 😊
I'm wondering the same thing. A different video says he used a jack stand (or two?) to support the transmission. I wonder how and where he put it. And if he used anything extra to spread out the load without moving too much when I remove the brace.
There’s still codes on and I’m not sure if they are from the O2 sensors or from the cats. Because they were so cheap I’m guessing they don’t really work but the truck runs fine (well sometimes it takes a few turns of the ignition to get it running and I can’t figure out what is causing that) Who knows 🤷♀️I would say: if you can afford it OEM is your best bet

I have to admit that it is still on. The truck runs great except that sometimes it doesn’t crank on the first try. Other than that, a light on doesn’t bother me (knowing that I did everything I could to get it to turn off) . I don’t drive it much so I can’t really know if the catalytic converters work well or not.
Sorry one more question. Did this catalytic converter kit work for you. I looked up the company and the price is just perfect. Did your codes go away? Please and thank you
The codes did not go away I’m not sure how much I can trust that cat because of how cheap it was but it might be my sensors but I didn’t have them in for long so I know they were pretty new 🤷♀️
Betty you are awesome I don’t see any women doing what you are doing I have 2013 Silverado 1500 I must replace mine in 1 assembly I must remove cross member bar sell your old ones
I had to rewatch the video to see. Cause I didn’t remember. Yes used floor jack to hold transmission up and quickly dropped the support bar (seems like we just removed the bolts and only had to lower it an inch or two to slide the pipe through) then bolted it back in place.
@@NotamechanicBetty just wondering if you guys used a 3ton jack to do so. Also, did you torque the clamp that connected the pipes to a certain spec? I am trying to do this in a coming weeks lol
@@blackhouse7646 I’m pretty sure it was 3 ton but I do have a transmission jack from harbor freight that I might have used it’s been a while. I just tightened the bolts as tight as I could

I had to watch twice. No wrench throwing or busted knuckles! That a girl Great Job! 👍

Thank you for your nice words and also for subscribing.
That was awesome. I just found you and aspire to be you
When you took the transmission cross member, did you have to hold the trans with a jack?
I'm wondering the same thing.

Yes she did
Thanks
Did codes ever come back with aftermarket cats? Every place I go tells me to get oem from dealer

I would try changing your crank sensor for the cutting out problem
Can you share the website where you bought the parts
