    If you really don't understand why you were at fault you need to stop riding or get some training.

    You were at fault for not looking where you were going. Also, earlier, overtaking the vehicle nearest the crossing inside the zig zags is a 3 point offence.

    • @StormTEC
      @StormTEC 25 днів тому +1

      The reason the zig zags are there is so people don't crash into pedestrians crossing the road. And you can clearly see in the video that's not gonna happen. To even bring it up is pedantic as fk

      @StormTEC
      The reason they are there is to stop people crashing into pedestrians, it's the law! So pointing out law breaking isn't being pedantic. You can't pick and choose which laws you feel like obeying.

    You are at fault here, you shouldn't be where you are with your bike in the first place. Filter all the way to the front so you can be first off the line when it's green OR sit behind an actual car while waiting. Don't do this half-assed stuff you are doing now and just moving in between cars at random. The position you took indicates you were planning to go right. You are giving mixed signals (positioning to the right while not having your turn signals on) and trying to manoeuvre in a tight space. Don't do that. The number one rule when participating in traffic is being clear in your intentions.

    Not noticing a turn signal on the car in front. Totally bikers fault. Also, car behind probably thought you were also turning right (your position behind the car) but hadn't bothered to put your turn signal on.

    I wouldn't be filtering in a line of traffic where the cars are already over the centre line due to lack of space, unless I could get to the head of the queue. You're literally sitting in front of oncoming traffic. In a situation like that, you always want to be fully behind the vehicle in front, or as I said right at the front of the queue. Not sticking out on the wrong side of the road.
    Then you didn't do a left shoulder check when setting off, even though you knew you had a line of cars to your left. So you were surprised by the black car in your blind spot, even though you are the one who positioned him in your blind spot. You're on the right of the sliver car, at a crossroads where you look like you're going to turn right, given your position. But then suddenly you criss-cross over to the left of the silver car, confusing the hell out of the driver in the black car, and again without even looking.
    It's good that you're asking for advice, but honestly I would go back for more practical lessons, because you're making some really basic mistakes that are going to get you in trouble.

    Worst riding I have seen for ages. Never filter (overtake) on zigzags. Your dangerous riding gives bikers a bad rep. Looks like you could do with more training and less arrogance.

  • @StormTEC
    @StormTEC 25 днів тому +3

    Next time: put yourself in front of the silver car, front wheel just over that white line, making sure you get to accelerate off first and you avoid this kind of side-by-side stuff.
    Just own the road, take the lane, don't be nervous about doing it and dont give a fk if they beep you or whatever.
    If I was in the black car I would have waited to see what you were gonna do, but that's because I'm a biker too, the car drivers have their brains turned off as soon as they turn the ignition on.

    Poor positioning regardless of who's at fault. You see the silver car wants to turn right. The only 2 options I would consider there are:
    1. Filter past the silver to be first
    2. Wait behind the silver car towards the left side, seeing as you know it will have to wait for oncoming traffic before turning and you will need to pass on the left

    Better asking how you can prevent this. Answer: don't deviate from your line unless you are convinced it's safe to do so. Car driver doesn't "Think Bike". You must anticipate on that possibility (by checking your surroundings before entering the queue again)

    Comments as usual are rather harsh without offering much help... Good on you for posting the video, that takes courage and shows a willingness to learn. My take is that your lane positioning to the far right behind the silver car has made the drive of the black car assume you may have been turning right. This is likely where the confusion came from and unfortunately most drivers are too impatient and only focus on the gap.
    A few things to consider for next time.
    - Have a positive position. Dont leave space for cars to cut around you as they normally will try.
    - I guess this is a smaller bike (125cc). Meaning some cars can out accelerate you, so just be careful when approaching changing lights.
    - Make eye contact with the divers, Signal you intentions. Sometimes a little hand gesture just to say "woops, i'm not in the best position but I'd like to move in front of you" can save you. Also lets you know if they've seen you!
    - Make sure there is space to get back in lane.
    - The safer thing in this scenario would have been to sit beside the black car with your left signal on showing the driver behind them you want to get back in lane. Doesnt mean you have priority but would give you more space and time to correct things.
    If you can afford it, some advanced lessons are always a good idea.There's even some good material on youtube from Roadcraft Nottingham - Motorcycle Training, that channel has some useful tips.
    You only get better with practice, best of luck!

      I also am hoping to take my a2 soon, depending on how much insurance will be after passing. If its too much I plan on watching the channel you recommended, and get the A1 instead.
      Also the advice you have given me is very good, so I'm going to presume you're a biker. If so, I passed my car license without any lessons just by watching youtube and private practice with my dad. Do you think it's safe to do this with A1? e.g. no professional training just utilising youtube channels and practice.

    • @GaryCoul101
      @GaryCoul101 24 дні тому

      @@BikerBains I'd reccoment the A2 test as you can still ride the bike you've got with it and can upgrade to a bigger bike at a time that suits you. You do need to be 19 for the A2. If not 19, I would still wait as you will want a bigger bike eventually. The A1, A2 and A level are all the same test sat on different powers of bike. So it will cost more in the long run to sit all 3.
      I would highly reccomend training with a motorcycle instructor. I've learnt a lot from training videos but I still had mistakes picked up of 1 to 1 training with instructors. They see what you dont notice. You can look up who is close to you and thier reviews. Often you can get taster lessons cheap or even free.
      Also something to keep in mind is the standard between motorcycle and car tests are vastley different. Motorcycle tests are judged harsher as you are operating a machine that can kill you easily (lets not forget).
      Also also, ashley_neal youtube channel has some really good material. His advice totally changed my outlook on driving and riding.
      Hope this helps. :) And if you're ever about the worcestershire area we can go for a ride!

  • @PokerMuppet
    @PokerMuppet 25 днів тому +1

    You're on the right behind a car turning right and you are cutting across in front of traffic that yo are only next to due to filtering so you have put yourself in an incorrect position. No glance before moving off or before you started moving across their lane, you've literally barged your way in front of other traffic. Fairly typical riding in London but it's poor and dangerous. The fact that you have posted this asking who was at fault shows that you have little understanding of the rules of the road or bike safety and are in desperate need of training.

    Biker is at fault as usual they've failed to recognised the broken harzard lines for oncoming traffic, they've then run out of road and forced themselves along side another road user, then they've made an irrational unpredictable manoeuvre with dangeriously limited space and time and exactly what you expect to happen has happened. There's no courtesy or consideration for other road users. It's this type of road user why people "Think Bike, Think Wanker".

  • @wundermax1993

    normally the black car should have seen you overtaking him so he is not paying attention. As for you, you sould have seen the turn signal and positioned yourself behind the first car and ideally you do that BEFORE the green light by looking back, creating eye contact and showing your intent. When the green light comes you can only do this in standstill, otherwise you would have to have much more skill not to rear end the grey car while getting behind him on the move, because you need to look back in that case too.
    edit: the reason I think the black car was at fault too is that car drivers should treat motorcycles as other cars. in this case he didn't respect the motorcycle and did not leave him the lane. Ususally drivers are simply pissed off and jealous and say you have no right to have it so easy and not get stuck in traffic so they get aggressive. In reality if you are driving a car in this situation you have to accept that you will need to increase the distance to the bike when the green light comes and let him decide whether to overtake the grey car or get behind him. Simple as that, common sense. It also is legal in most countries to overtake standing cars at a red light.
