The different pictures of when Christ was carrying the cross and fell for the first time and so on it's called Stations of the Cross, I grew up Catholic my entire life so I just figured I'd leave the name thanks for the video Ron! Happy Halloween!
I wasn't talking about the stations of the Cross. I was answering Ron when he said he didn't know what SDS stands for on the headstones of the brothers, father's and priests and bishops and Cardinals
Oh Ron, there's a story related to the school. Not scary but still sad and tragic, all the same. A student named Mickey Crowe became a local basketball legend there in the early to mid 1970's. He was a very talented player who was coached by his father. But after his high school career, Mickey got lost in drugs and alcohol, and mental illness. He was homeless on the streets of Washington, D.C., when he witnessed the attempted assassination on President Reagan. He later returned to Wisconsin and is still alive today in Eau Claire. He also has since co-written a book. On a more pleasant note, Ron, the next time you come to Saint Nazianz, check out the Tom Cat Lounge. The owner is a big time Marilyn Monroe fan and has her pool table room decorated as such, plenty of Norma Jean memorabilia.
It sounds so windy there? Inside the crypt, it sounds like whispering. Am I the only one who hears whispers? Good, creepy episode for Halloween!! Thanks Ron!!
I’m here all alone…….. my husband’s at a Halloween party but I stayed home TO WATCH THIS HALLOWEEN PREMIER! UPDATE: It was worth staying home for. It Made me jittery. My husband came home and I was watching the video with my EarPods and he scared the @#$ out of me!!!! LOL.
Great story Ron and a very spooky place. That wind sure added some drama haha. It's such beautiful grounds though and it's sad to see some of those buildings so unkept.
Was it just me or was the background audio super creepy, the sounds off the highway, the creaky door, the birds, it was all just super eerily kinda creepy. 😳 This made a great Halloween video 😁
The squeaky door in the mausoleum was a perfect addition to the atmosphere 😊. Definitely a creepy place, so quiet. I expected a ghostly student to peek out the window of the seminary! 👻
I live in Wisconsin and had a coworker that went to school there. He never said too much about it. I went to Catholic school and had the meanest nun ever! Sister Leah, mention her name and all my old schoolmates shudder! Schools nowadays need Sister Leah’s, that would straighten kids out!
Thanks for sharing this with us Ron. The scenery there is very nice and the use of the drone was amazing. They call those the Stations of the Cross. If my cousin was here he could tell us all about the history of this place. I remember hearing him speak of it periodically years ago. He was a Monsignor in the cathedral of the catholic faith here. Unfortunately he passed away back in May of this year. I am not a hundred percent sure but I believe he has been there from the way he talked about it. In his early years with the church they moved him around a lot. I remember hearing him even mentioning Father Ambrose name in the conversations at family gatherings. Thanks again Ron be safe on your travels and peace be with you. 🙏🙏✝️✝️
The term for the Picture stops is Stations of the Cross. Maybe all those pigeons are the souls of the deceased monks and nuns protecting the property. Too bad though it has gone to ruin. A good one for Halloween.
Well I gotta say that this place is extremely odd, weird and beautiful. The creepy factor is huge. Kudos to you Ron for that exploration and taking us along 😊
I saw a cornfield and the first thing I thought of was, "The Children of the Corn." That cemetery is very spooky with the wind howling through the trees and headstones. There is NO such thing as a picture of Jesus extant, today. Those buildings stand as silient sentinels to the past. Thank you Ron for taking us through the churchyard.
@@FacesoftheForgotten yes, please don't let that happen. I recall you mentioning something similar in a recent video. Very unnerving... please be safe! Great show... thank you
It is the Stations Of The Cross you were thinking of. It is a series of pictures or carvings portraying events in the Passion of Christ, from his condemnation by Pontius Pilate to his entombment. The images are usually mounted on the inside walls of a Catholic churches or chapels but may also be erected in such places as cemeteries, corridors of hospitals and religious houses, or on mountainsides.
Ok, I was late to the party I love your videos Ron but I just couldn’t wait up last night due to the time difference in the uk. You are braver than I would be on my own and it’s a true pleasure to keep you company as you explore these places for us. It seems such a desolate place and yes you could feel those up,easing vibes considering it was a religious place. I can’t understand how the state was able to just take the land? The school - 🫣 the ghosts of children abused by nuns! Oh my goodness, that’s a little close to home, my Dad experienced the cruel coldness of nuns along with their physical abuse of little children 😡. He was around 7 and was attending a Roman Catholic school in the uk. That was back in the early 40’s. Following his death I dreamt he was being nursed back to health in heaven by -- the same Nuns! He told me it’s the penance they pay. Obviously a weird dream but it left me wondering. Thanks again Ron
That door trying to close behind you freaked me out Ron. You were brave to stay in there I would’ve been so out of there! I personally love religious art, but I am with you… I do not like that picture either. I would like to know the history of that picture if you know who painted it, and what the story is. Happy Halloween.

Hi Ron, and Happy Halloween. Great videos, keep up the great work , really enjoy watching your videos. I very seldom talk but that is my shyness problem. The altars you spoke about are for the Stations Of The Cross. Take care.

I don’t really feel anything evil, I feel a lot of sadness.
Oschwalds body was moved many years after his death to a chapel in the village.
A lot of the broken windows were a result of the 2000 tornado

Those small, grotto like frames were most probably for the Stations of the Cross, which would be twelve stations.
It's sad that all that property is abandoned and all those buildings falling apart.
