He didn't want a divorce, because she had inherited, land and money. She also had a life insurance policy. He needed all of that to carry on a new life. What a selfish, evil, beast.
A divorce would have cost him some money to obtain, if he got away with murder, he came out ahead with her inherited land, money, and life insurance policy. It's proof there is nothing new under the sun, for sure.
It's a common practice, especially in Europe and other places where burial space is limited. It's not just a Catholic practice. I've seen bones dug up in cases where the payment wasn't made by the specified date. It puzzles me that the relatives of any deceased wouldn't make arrangements to pay for a grave after such a long time.
This story held me in rapt attention from beginning to end, although it was a very sad tale to listen to. Such disrespect of this lady both before and after death and her children having to live under the shadow of their father's deeds. He was a sadistic, selfish man and he got what he deserved in the end. That was excellent reporting, Ron and to read from contemporary newspaper articles just brings it all back to me. It's so sad that her grave cannot be located, thank you for leaving that rose as a remembrance.
Sometimes families will not use headstones in case they attract ghoulish types, which may be the case with outlandish stories such as this. You would think later generations would have placed some kind of simple marker though. My family is living in various countries of the World so I would probably never get to visit grandparents graves. I know where one is in the same country as I, but it is on the other side of the country. My father spent money to have his father’s grave marked with a permanent headstone etc. Grandfather had died young, but with four children and one stepchild to support his widow took them back home to her original country. She had already lost her original husband and one brother in France during WW1, before she had married grandfather, then lost a daughter while he had served in India. Her husband had a cross and a marker on his grave but time had almost obliterated these before my father had travelled there in his later years. He renewed the lease on the grave and hoped we would attend to any future needs there. I am yet to travel to that state and see if grandfather’s grave needs any attention. I do visit my father’s grave as it is close to home.
Chilling thought : Being that this happened in the late 1800's....the butcher could have just laid her on the floor, knocked over an oil lamp, or placed it too close the curtains, walked out.....and the house would have burned down. Not having the methods back then to investigate how the fire started like we do today etc., body found amid the ashes (well maybe skull and a few bones)....he might well have gotten away with it all. (Horrible accident). It is sad the wife has not even a marker.
There is a cemetery in Hugo, OK called the Mount Olivet Cemetery. It is the burial site for circus performers, Freckles Brown and the famous Lane Frost, the bull rider.
Another tragic story of a forgotten woman but, not by you Ron. You seem to never forget anyone. R.I.P. to all the forgotten in that cemetery!❤😢 Stay well my friend!❤
"He had those big fat hands and they were trembling " Ron, you are a gifted storyteller. You just crack me up 😂 May 2024 be a blessed year for you and your loved ones. Aroha from NZ ❤
Ron, I dont know if you've ever covered the place yet, however, if you haven't, I'd highly recommend the mutter museum in Philadelphia, PA. It's a museum of natural oddities and it lives up to that name. They even have an insanely eerie display of skulls that belong to murderers. If you're ever in the area, check it out. Well worth the p.o.a.
I heard you say that there was a $500 insurance policy for Theresa. Wonder why her brother who would have either been the beneficiary or her children with him acting as their guardian didn't use that to bury her with a stone. RIP Theresa. Her husband got his due, that's for sure.
Thanks for another interesting and well researched video, Ron. Sad that her family didn’t pay for a proper burial. Thank you for sharing her story. She is not forgotten. ❤
Thank you Ron for another interesting story, very sad that Theresa doesn’t have a marker. But thankfully you’ve brought her back in memory. A sideline: You talked about the German - Austrian families , made me think of how many 1000’s and 1000’s of the people immigrated, their broken language in America, trying to live and settle into a new country. I’m from central Missouri, where there were many many German immigrants that settled here in central Missouri on farms and in the cities.
Hi . Great vlog . Very interesting but sad too . Her husband was totally nuts . Poor kids too live through that life of evil with their mother killed by father . Thanks again for all your great vlogs. Deborah 🇨🇦
Teresa was very pretty young lady. He only thought of himself. No disregard for how his dirty deed would affect his children! That man was a self centered, greedy person. Great video! ❤
Mon Dieu. You are right, very sad and tragic ending to a life and then to not to be able to find the grave of the person. You tell the stories so well, Ron. I wish you a great day! 🙂
As I was watching this you had ducks honking, at the same time ducks flew over my balcony. Very interesting stories. Love how you narrate them and walk the area.
Just a few days ago I went with a friend to look for forgotten relatives Graves. At St Joseph we I found my grandmother's and uncle's grave but although we printed out maps were hard relatives were buried, we could not find markers. We were told they may have been palpers graves.
I had to stop last night and take care of my fur baby. What a jerk he was. I'm behaving here LOL. Great job Ron! As usual thank you so very much for sharing 😊
"bought the farm" is a euphemism for death. this could be a threat from Abel to Layna's dad about letting them date. Plus, I appreciate how your editing of "Abel" makes the name sound like "As$hole".
Such a sad and bizarre story about this family Ron and this was a awesome story!! Sad for Teresa i hope she is resting in peace...rip Teresa 🙏😇. Super sad for their kids and sad the daughter died og Spanish flu and later the son died too...i hope the children are resting in peace as well...ty Ron and hsve a great week ahead 😊...Graat job 👍... Mary from Arkansas
So basically the church punished poor people for not being able to pay for a grave. And then think of their families enduring the anguish of knowing their loved one's remains would be desecrated. It 's so awful that anyone would ever think that was ok. That is tragic.
Thank you Ron for taking us along on your journeys of the forgotten. Really appreciate all the dedication and hard work you put into researching into the lives and deaths of all these people, most very tragic and sad, some not so much. Look after yourself and take care.
My heart breaks for Theresa and her family. A horrible end and the end forgotten for a time. Thank you, Ron for bringing her story to light and for celebrating her life with a beautiful yellow rose and the recognition she so deserves. Rest In Peace, dear Theresa. ❤🙏❤
I havent read all the comments but I think its odd that the murderer is buried in a marked grave. In a way he is given that small bit of dignity.but his murdered wife is in an unmarked grave. Odd and very sad.
Oh my stars! How incredibly sad! I’m going to take a small sidestep and feel sorry, too, for the (apparently) clueless lady who first thought he was single (I can truly see that happening - in his line of work he wouldn’t be wearing a ring), but to then find out he killed his wife to be with her! I wouldn’t want that on my conscience - to think he might have killed somebody as the solution to make way for a life with me. Dear heaven. 😮😮
Wow, quite the intriguing story! Seems like the most brutal murders are in situations where someone could just get divorced, and instead plots evil. Poor Theresa 💔 not only died a horrible death but then put in the paupers section and now in some kind of mass grave. What about her brother- he should have followed up. Can't help wondering of Lena knew he was married before, I mean come on she must have heard at least from customers in the restaurant. Great job Ron, at least the FOTF gang can now remember poor Theresa ❤
It breaks my heart that there are unmarked people buried on top of each other. At least they are still buried there and their bodies weren’t disposed of. Rest in peace.
Interesting story and how it's also tied with sausage killer at least justice was had for her killer I feel sorry for the children who endure the aftermath
Great story Ron. That is creepy that they just bury people on top of each other if the plot isn't paid for. It sounded like they gave them plenty of time to get it paid for though. I'm glad the husband was found guilty for what he did to her. It's sad that this woman was murdered by her husband, then she's been lost with no grave marker of where she lays. Thank you for taking the time to get these details & share this story with us.
Learned something new - term graves. Very interesting. Sad that Teresa’s marker was never paid for! What a sad story, the husband got what he deserved.
Such a tragic story rest in heavenly peace beautiful lady wherever you are laying at rest 😢 🕊 ❤❤❤❤ once again a story told with love and respect thank you Ron 😊
I imagine the children’s Uncle used any inheritance to raise the children. Placing a marker on the mother’s grave waste as crucial. I hope the children understood.
Term graves, they have these here in France. My husband enquired about a burial plot for his ashes when the time comes and he can choose a plot for 30 years for €260 or if he wants 50 years he pays €300. Of course after fifty years nobody who knew him will still be alive. Graveyards here do not expand in size so I understand why they re-use graves. For full body burials, once the payments are no longer made, the bones are removed and placed in an ossuary for final rest. This is also in the cemetary.
Ron for a moment i thought you were going to say he chop her and fed her to the people thank god it was not as i was thinking ron your are my #1 in my book stories 😅

No divorce just for the money, kill get the nice bits and remarry, a monster in optima forma. Great story again Ron thnx.
May Theresa and her children R.I.P together .As for the father the less said the better, safe travels Ron,🙏🙏🙏👍🇦🇺

9:45 "He had those big fat hands"
I can totally picture this man in my mind.

I truly hope her 2 granddaughters got to live a better life.❤❤
This guy is an amazing storyteller. If he wrote a book I would totally read it.
The poor woman, I can't image that she is resting in peace, great story, thanks.

So sad she was murdered by her husband, heartbreaking her grave can not be located. That's unbelievably sad. RIP wherever your are dear lady.
Thanks for another interesting and well researched video, Ron.
Sad that her family didn’t pay for a proper burial. Thank you for sharing her story. She is not forgotten. ❤
Note to self: If time travel is undertaken, avoid this neighborhood...

Why didn’t her brother use the insurance money for her burial & headstone? Doesn’t say much for him.
Loved your story Ron. Lee Hutt
