- You've never seen anything like this Washington, D.C. house...I promise. Imagine an old home from the 1700s right in the middle of a bustling city filled with things like a Disney crown that's been to Buckingham Palace, a goat statue wearing false eyelashes, and collections of curiosities like pink gnomes and plastic bunnies. It's truly a magical home.
The home belongs to former Vogue editor Deb Waterman Johns, her husband, Ben, and their four kids. Deb is the co-founder of SCOUT, a brand known for stylish, functional, and affordable bags. She has more than four decades of experience in the fashion industry and her love of pattern, color and design is on full display at her whimsical Georgetown home.

She should call it the "Curiosity house" like the Curiosity shop. Very whimsical and vibrant! I'm a collector too and the one thing I noticed, everything has it's place. That's the difference between a collector and a hoarder, it's all about taking care of your things and them having a place to be seen.
I love that she didn’t go traditional and went more modern in a home that most would try to delicately preserve its antiquity.

This terrific, handsome palace is this interesting woman's brain - exteriorized, with minimal interruption. It is a warm, sunny, incessantly playful, inquisitive, exclamatory, clever, cerebral play space. I suspect her progeny benefitted, and were/are nourished by her attitude. Our hostess also reminded me of the actress Judi Davis.. terrific.
She is amazing and her home reflects that.

Each room is a little treasure box different from the next. I love the use of different soft colours in different room. Its really cheerful. I love love love your eclectic home. You are such an artistic person. The wall colors make everything in the walls pop. I’m a maxi list too. I have art all over my walls. I can’t move like I used too. Need knee replacement and an arm with bursitis tendonitis. I love shopping thrift stores finding vintage items. I miss not able to do more decorating or painting. I can watch this video over and over.

love this home. its alot like my familys summer home in the berkshires. every room is a different color & theme but all welcoming & warm. my mum loves color too & we all adopted her wonderful sense of style. but this one goes beyond!!
