Your copper jaw covers look good. I never got around to making some for home use. I'm like you, I don't trust power tapping with the unbranded taps. Learned the hard way😅

I caught you mentioning 16 holes early on, I was thinking you would catch that. But 16..18 I guess it doesn’t really matter!

John you are right it really doesn't matter just aggravates me when I have these brain lapses. They will work fine with 16 holes.

Which app did you download from play apps ? Also what is the distance from the floor to your centerline of your lathe spindle ?

FsWIZARD is the app. And I will have to measure the centerline it is a Grizzly G4003G Lathe.
