Watched one of your other vids re:clutches and ever since start in neutral, ended most downshifting, & of course use neutral whenever possible when not moving.
Further, thanks to syncho trans in my `78 B roadster I`m having great success at clutch-less shifting. I just don`t do it with traffic behind out of courtesy, as it`s a bit slower acceleration.

This happened to my mechanic. He started to hear noises and it turned out to be a prematurely worn carbon release bearing.
I followed all the rules and after 115,000+ miles the first gear on my 3 synchro transmission finally went bad. I had been nursing first for 45,000+ miles since the last time the clutch was replaced. The clutch surface and carbon on the release bearing looked almost new. The pressure bearing on the pressure plate was loose and the ears and on the release bearing were 1/3 worn through.
After rebuilding the transmission I ended up going with the Borg & Beck clutch kit, but with the TR7 5 speed clutch because it fits well and has 20% more surface area.

GOOD GRAVY!! $1500 bucks? Golly, I am glad I got in the habit of neutral a long time ago. Foot off the clutch. Thanks for these videos.

I had driven many times resting my foot on the clutch......lessons learned!

Can you reuse your pressure plate? Mine looks great, nothing loose, everything solid?

I would be disappointed if that happened to my car at 1500 miles. It really seems the clutch arm was not releasing properly.
