I just cut off the cigarette “male end” and wired it to my 12V DC panel. I connected the wires using Wago’s. Easy peasy.
Since my ICECO fridge had a 15 amp fuse I added a 15 amp fuse on my Blue Sea Systems fuse panel.

....and everything goes POOF!! including my brain! 🤯😵 If I have to do all of that just to make a product work the way it SHOULD, someone owes ME some money back! Glad it worked for you, and I still appreciate your sharing your methods 😊

I have an Iceco fridge too. It's being powered by a 100 AH Lithium Iron Oxide battery charged by a dual (alternator or solar) charger. Problem was that the Iceco shuts off when it detects the battery VOLTAGE (not amps or watts) go below about 11 volts assuming it's hooked up to your starting battery so you're not left with no starting battery power. But Lithium batteries don't have to be protected like older batteries. You can run them all the way down and they'll charge right back up. And so there is a device that keeps the voltage at 13 volts regardless of battery charge. It fools the Iceco fridge into "thinking" the battery it's hooked up to has a full charge. It cost about $40 and is simple to install. Just wire it between the battery powering the fridg and the fridg. It is a: Valefod DC to DC High Efficiency Voltage Converter 8-36V to 12V 10A 120W Buck-Boost Converter.
Those cigarette lighter power ports never were intended to power anything but a cigarette lighter - back when almost every driver was a smoker. They wiggle loose. They blow a fuse then when you unscrew the cap to replace the fuse (if you have one) the parts fall between the seats. The 5.5mm 'barrel' type DC plug is becoming the standard though there are others. I like the Anderson Power Pole connectors. Secure yet easy to connect and disconnect. Though some light soldering is required.

Great video, I’m always so impressed with your ability to do things like this. I have zero desire to do anything like this but love how empowered you are.

I wonder if your generator display is including the loss converting from the internal battery down to 12 V or through the inverter converting into AC, while your other meter is just showing the energy going to the refrigerator? What I mean is, the inverter consumes power just running, and then when it converts DC into external AC power there is inefficiency as well. The internal battery may be 48 V or more, I don’t know, but I assume there is also inefficiency converting that to 12 V for output.

That makes a lot of sense and probably what could be happening! Thanks Old Goat!
