    Hi. I need to buy a macro photography flash for dental photography. I have no knowledge about these equipments though. Right now im using a 18-55 lens, will this mf12 k2 kit be compatiblw with that lens?

    • @hypop
      @hypop  Рік тому

      Hi Vishakha, the kit will come with 49mm, 52mm, 55mm, 58mm, 62mm, 67mm, 72mm, and 77mm sized thread adapters. As long as the thread size of your 18-55 lens is one of these sizes it will be able to be mounted on your lens. The easiest way to check is to look on the inside of your lens cap, most brands imprint the filter size there. Hope this helps!

      @@hypop no, what i meant to ask was, will the picture quality as far as the lighting goes, be equally good with a 18-55mm?

    • @hypop

      @@vishakhatasgaonkar7061 Ideally if you were doing macro photography you would use a macro lens. A macro lens will reduce the minimum focusing distance which will allow you to get closer to the subject to capture more detail. Since the camera and light will be further back from the subject with an 18-55 lens you'll have some light fall off over distance. If a proper macro lens is too big of an investment at the moment, a recommendation is to purchase a cheaper macro lens filter to go over the top of your 18-55 lens first to try it out.

      I personally think Godox is better due to the wireless system and comparability with their full range should you choose to upgrade your lighting kit

    Great video! Thanks for pointing out the mounting issue to the ring. Not sure how Godox rolled this product out with such a crippling defect especially given the history they had with the AD300PRO mounting issue. I found a good rule to always follow with new release Godox products is to wait several months before you make the investment to ensure you do not encounter these types of issues before a workaround or fix is available. I do love Godox products and the value they offer us non commercial big budget gig photographers but these type of production issues does question their quality control policies.

      Totally agree with this point. Hopefully the fix goes out to retailers soon.

      @@hypop If the ring is snuggly tightened this is a non-issue. I have been using this system for about a year without experiencing this issue even once. In fact, I would have never known about if I had not watched this video.

    Just another note on these. Even though it has USB-C port on the side, it does not charge from a USB-C device, wall block or battery bank.
    I recently bought 3 MF12s and an X2T and the MF12s will only charge from a USB-A to USB-C cable on an old style USB-A chargers. I tried 4 different USB-C chargers(2x Apple, 1x Anker, 1x Belkin) and 3 different USB-C power banks(2x Anker, 1x Nitecore) with a heap of different USB-C to USB-C cables and none will charge the MF12. Also will not charge from a Macbook Pro with a USB-C to USB-C cable.
    Other than the charging and loose tilt mounts/mounting ring they are great small flashes. Have taken some great shots with them.

      You can, however, charge them via your car's usb ports. I have found that very handy.

    can I use it as an on-camera flash for portraits...I want to use it as a fill flash

    • @hypop
      @hypop  Рік тому +1

      Hey there, although you can technically still use it as an on-camera flash you'll still need an additional Godox trigger that's sold separately. The other consideration is that each MF12 module is only 12w's of power. It might be worth looking at a hotshoe mounted on-camera flash instead such as the Godox TT350 or the Godox TT685II.
