Man...just hearing the music of the intro brought the feels...
Yes 🙌
What a time 🥲 Windows 95…. Oh my god THX! for the upload ❤️🩹
He'll yeah
This just unlocked a deeeep part of my brain. I was so young when I played this. To be honest I’ve never seen past level 4 before today, I could never make it lmao.
Same
Same here man it was an difficult one for sure 👍✌
@@briwood6328 You should try again as adults. I made it to level 8 on my first try on Normal difficulty.
This was a hard game, I could make it to the tiger 2x, but could never beat it, lion king was easier than this imo
Those backgrounds always looked so mysterious. I always played the game thinking we'd be able to reach there by side scrolling through the game.
Yeah same here. I used to spend ages trying to work out how to see more of the background. I sometimes wished I could jump through the screen and check it out for myself haha
OMG YES I THOUGHT I WAS THE ONLY ONE THINKING ABOUT THIS
I remember playing this game as a kid and when I'd get to the second level, I'd always mess around with the tree that made you go up and down like an elevator for hours. I always loved the sound effect they used for that part.
Cool man
Trippy
it was overshadowed by a couple of masterpieces. It was released before Aladdin and around the same time as Earthworm Jim, and that’s some tough competition there
I just wanna say, there's something about the way you play that's inherently entertaining. You completely capture the essence of a cheeky mancub playing in the jungle like he owns it.
virgin was a grandmaster of animations
It was Disney animators. Disney would draw the animations for Virgin, and Virgin would simkpky digitise them, change them into pixel form. But that's the reason the animations were so good in these games, particularly in Alladin, because it was Disney animating them
Albeit Virgin did learn a lot from them and managed to do some great animations themselves by hiring full on cartoon animations to work on their staff and digitise their animations, so that we ended up with games like Earthworm Jim that are tremendously well animated
@@duffman18 I won't say this is true. I find Jungle Book to be the least impressive Disney adaption from virgin. It greatly depends on the software animators. This game feels like a huge step back from Aladdin which was developed by the guys who later founded Shiny Entertainment. Take a look at Earthworm Jim: the animations there were top notch.
My childhood 🥺
Anyone from India played this game
Me. And this wasn't recommended but I searched for it.
@@sauravdeore8186 cool.
Only the 8 bit nes version😁
I played it from Bangladesh.
This was my childhood. I only had the nes version, tho
childhood memories
ikr
@@pcguyalt can i get this game again?
Love the music, love this game
THIS GAME!!!!!!!!!! Oh man, it was a real masterpiece, considering the detail amount and colors in it!
This and Sonic 1 were the first games I ever had on Sega Megadrive 1.
When I first encountered Kaa, I was scared was very scared, sicne I hate snakes! XD))))
P.S. The level where u jump stones to get to King Loui - was a real challenge! I remember sweating when trying to beat this level.
+digimaks king loui level is the most difficult in the game , the last level I got through in one go , but the stones in king loui level took me a month.
that level is ridiculously frustrating and king louie is also pretty freaking hard
@@dogpetdog Ugh, true, at least game developers left savepoint elephant before Loui fight.
To beat him requires good memorization of his moves pattern, and keep switching weapons for the right moment.
@@dogpetdog every Disney game for the Mega Drive was like this. It was because of kids renting games from shops like Blockbuster. So with every game, the devs would put in a ridiculously difficult level at some point in the middle, that would be impossible to beat unless you tried it 100 times. So that it'd be impossible to beat the game on a single rental of 2 or 3 days over the weekend. The kids would be forced to buy the game themselves and then practice for months until they can finally beat the level
Seems to be a thing with British developers in particular. In this case it was Virgin who made all these Disney games for the mega drive/genesis. And they put these absolutely nonsense ridiculously difficult levels in all of them. Bastards. Apparently they didn't understand that making a game difficult but fair, makes it more repayable and will get more people to buy the game so they'll beat it over and over, instead of having an impossible to beat level midway through. That's why games like Mario 3 are infinitely replayable and get more and more fun the more times you play through it. Because it's fair. There's no over the top difficult level in it to catch out people who rent games instead of buy them
Another British developer who always did this was Rare. Like the infamous level in Battletoads for NES, only the 2nd level in the game, and most kids never got past that 2nd level, the turbo tunnel, so they missed out on the majority of the game because of that stupid level
@@duffman18 even when you get past and think you've mastered that stupid turbo tunnel level repeated plays you're going to die because it's hard as fuck...thanks for a level skip code, asshats...you know what is weird? battletoads for game gear is a significantly different and better game, altho the turbo tunnel is still hard as fuck, it's easier to beat then the genesis one...
so with jungle book, king louie is actually not that hard once you figure out what to dodge and how to move and stand, khan on other hand is madness and unbeatable unless if you cheat and take hits, fucking ridiculous...also probably the hardest game on the 'mega drive' was revenge of shinobi...hard as fuck game, also an amazing game, every level was an endurance and forget that last level, it's IMPOSSIBLE, it's a giant maze, i had to get help from youtube, i had to cheat, there's only one way and one way only and about a million doors, the end boss is super difficult for all the wrong reasons and super stupid, his hair is a weapon and it seems easy at first but it is definitely not, you have to move a certain way and if you don't, you die
Oh my goodness. I beat this game so many times when I was younger! Great times! Great game! 😄
I'm impressed! I'd always get stuck at super hard parts!
one of my favourite classic games
If I Get This Disney Game Would I Enjoy The Jungle Book on My Sega?
Ahh memories…The music in Sega games was always fire. 🔥
The collapsing ruins level was insane, I remember losing to this stage for god knows how many times
It's basically a parkour level, with very limited platforms to stand on, and the fact that some platforms literally disappeared upon stepping on made it even more difficult
I remember being impressed by this level as a kid. It felt so precarious. In contrast with the brick-hopping dungeon level in Aladdin, which was pure frustration.
This was the only game on Mega Drive that never finished because i never had intrest in it because i found the first level boring back then, so i never even played level 2.
Now i finally tried it again and at level 3 i fell in love with the game. As an adult playing for the first time i got up the collapsing ruins without dying once but i only had 1 life left for the boss, but this is a pretty easy game since on the next try i’ll be up the steps with all lives and continues because there weren’t many death traps and the bosses have so many weaknesses.
best video game version of the jungle book!
Awesome
this brings back good memories . that's the first game i played in my life, beside tomb raider 1 and half life 1 and rayman 1
The Treevillage was a pain in the neck when I was playing this game. So was a level with King Louie.
This one is colorful, good control, and does a very good job when it comes to translating movie scenes into game levels
I never forget about this one
I always wanted to play or even know a game of the Jungle Book like this existed. After playing Aladdin and The Lion King, I am bothered to why I never had a chance to play this game. Never saw it advertised or anything or on any of the store shelves. Well nice to know Jungle Book actually got to make into a Sega Genesis game.
This should have been on the compilation they made with Aladdin and The Lion King.
Because that was Aladdin and The Lion King, not Aladdin and The Lion King and The Jungle Book.
Agreed
I just came here to listen this song.
same here
Man when life was good 😂😂used to play this everyday after school
It just brings back all those good childhood memories.
I loved this game 20 years ago.
Me too
🌴🌴🌴The elephant level was my favourite! 🌴🌴🌴
Me too. Wanna see a female character my friend and I created?
Wtf lmao
Sega Genesis was the king of platformers. I've been playing this a lot lately and it's right up there with "Aladdin" and "Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse" as the best Disney game on the system. I preferred Lion King on SNES.
Holy shit I've been trying to remember that mickey mouse game forever haha thanks
Mega drive era bom demais the best
This game was amazing!
I remember getting this game for my 8th birthday so many memories ♥️
Thats awesome dude
This game looks awesome .I wish I had a Genesis.
Good memories
I wish Disney continued making games of their old movies, we could have gotten a Robin Hood game made by Virgin, feels bad, man.
This was the very first game I played when I picked up that Sega Genesis controller at 5 years old (1996) and never put it down ♥️
very good game. When i finished it on Mega Drive my friends didn't believe it... i wish i could record the longplay like we can do today.
WOW THIS BRINGS BACK SOO MANY CHILDHOOD MEMORIES!!
After nearly 7years I've had the privilege to see this game. After all this time when I heard this music I was back in 2015. Those were some good old days! 🥲
as a 6 year old kid i had the hardest time beating lvl 2... i took me waaaay too long to realize that i needed to throw bananas at that fucking snake
Everything about this game is fucking bangin.
I had the original around when it came out. My aunt gave it and NBA Jam to me because she got it for her kids but they were too little to know how to play lol
15:05 I like that. A boss fight that has the "boss" give you a bunch of free fruit instead of fights you.
Right in the childhood.
Took me untold ages to understand how to use huts in that mothertrucking village. I mean seriously, HOW was one supposed to guess it?
I remember this old game!
Wow really nice. Childhood memories men,,,,I'm practically gonna be stuck on your channel all day. How are you recording these videos?
wow, this brings back old memories. thank you so much for the upload. T.T
thanks so much for upload
I will never ever forget this game
Ahh I remember this game. The SNES version anyways. Could never make it past Kaa though.
I remember the game grumps played that version and Arin had a total fucking freak out over something in the gane
Cant wait to play this on switch
Modern Games cannot Compete with this masterpiece!
That final boss is so hard to beat

16:37 - I never understood why did they use Boss Music for Baloo scene. At first encounter I thought you suppose to throw projectiles at him as a boss. They should of used some other music for Baloo, perhaps Bear Necessities from the first level would of fit better. What you guys think?
i used to dodge his fruits and shoot at him with boomerang 😂.
You're right, same here.
I've never played The Jungle Book on Sega Genesis before, but I played this game for the first time!
This, Lion King and Alladin used to come together in a pentium 3 assembled computer 😘 Good old memories ❤️
Big salute to Disney for converting huts into teleporters
People always harken back to Lion King and Aladdin Sega Genesis, but I don't as often hear this one, and it was honestly my #2 of the 3 games.
Yeah, i think this is a lot better then the Lion King in every way. It was a bit unlucky as it was based on a movie that was already 25 years old when the game came out and it was also realesed between Aladdin and the Lion King.
Memories come back got this game after years of search
Mowgli begins his journey “through the LION” to find the man village
Oh man, the nostalgia hurts! When I was 8, I played this game on my brother's computer. Never finished it, cuz I failed every time at a specific level, can't remember. Today, I'm gonna watch how this game ends. 😍
Never passed the ruins as a child.
Same. I could never get past the King Louie fight as a kid. I wish this was on that PS4 compilation of The Lion King and Aladdin.
@@joshuariddensdale2126 It is now, they realesed a a new version of it, both physical and digital, with this game, and the Snes version of jungle book and aladdin.
Omg, those childhood memories.
Срок 3 дня , не заберёте алконинзя, такое исполнение будет. Слезы печали и радости одновременно
Lindo demais esse jogo!!
aw remembering playing this when I was a kid
so many memories!
All you're getting in this game is bananas, a blowgun, boomerangs, a weird tiki mask, and underwear
Oh♥♥ I love this game, I love this music, I love all this ! Today I was gameplay , Is so good♥
Wow I want to play this game 😍👌
Don't need PS5, or Xbox Series X and all this new stuff,!
- I can't enter the house at 22:25 so I can't finish the game... Too bad :(.
Good old days.. Its reminds me when i was a young boy
I had this game an I always lost against the stupid snake!!! I never got to finish the game :/ I
Damn snake had scared the crap ot of me as a kid, sicne I hate snakes! So emotional factor made it harder to fight him. And in the game Snake Kaa is actually much scarier then his character in Disney cartoon.
i never completed that 3 money level, it was like a maze
@@digimaks What terrified me was when you lost the entire game, Shere Khan's claws would come out and I remember running downstairs to my Mom each time I lost 😂
I love this game
Cara que saudades ,comprei um ps4 mas falar verdade era muito mais emocionante jogar no mega drive era otimo
Miss the old days, i was playing it at my old computer windows Pentium 03
My childhood beautiful memories
I rented the SNES version of this and beat it during that period. I seem to recall that version being somewhat different from this one. Think I'll see if I can find some SNES footage...
Mogli's voice in this game sounds weird. Then again, any voice sounded wierd in the old console days.
Damn, that sega sound!
you match exactly my opinion: also The Lion King, the only other game you mentioned that I've played has been one of my favourite!
omg i played this when i was 4years old
this nostalgia
Same here , the epic music . c:
Oh i can't forget i played it 2005 when i was 4 years old
Damn, that level in ruins with blocks... I even saw it in my nightmares. And it was way longer...
oh my childhood...
This game brings back so manny memories. Never got past King Louie ruins level tho. xD
Same here. The furthest I ever got was the King Louie boss fight.
Loved this game in childhood. Pass all bosses.
Boss 22:47 was most hard in my childhood.
I play this game when i was child
I’m with vultures and I’m Baptist. A girl who goes to daycare at the church got called an angel by a fox. She’s 5 years old. Her name is Hailey. She was born October 22nd.
Her name was Anna.
They are little.
How is the NES version is it the same pretty much? I never had it when I was a kid.
It has the same level structure, bosses and enemy types, but it's totally different on everything else, specially graphics and music. You should look for it yourself. Good luck!
@@jesusvillalobos442 I forgot all about my comment haha. Thank you.
I've played this game when I was a little kid. I remember that we've had to use plenty of harddiscs to install the game 😂 i didnt play it on nintendo. Played it on pc. Dont remember what kind of pc. It was super fucking awesome. I'm 30 years old now. 😂
Omg I had this game I loved it!! Can u buy it on other consoles?
I remember when i played this as a kid, but sound wasn't working so im hearing this soundtrack for the first time XD
I hated this game so much when I was a kid but still play it daily
so much for Mowgli's howl
this version is so much easier than the nes verion
It looks harder to me (never played this one), like there's more going on and there's many more enemies. But maybe it's because the player doesn't wait for me to look around. Not having to find all the gems definitely sounds easier though. Also the boss fights seem easier?
@@Potkanka ez is subjective sometimes try it yourself to find out ;)
@@johndripper Yeah, might try it eventually...
Mowgli: Ow! 7:52
my old memories
5 years old. Your like someone who you know. Little Anna.
Anna is little.
The 4th level music was used in the Aladdin beta desert level
Disney put out great games in the 90's.
