I always felt bad. He was so close to getting out, but I guess he had nothing else to lose.
He did what he did to take an L for his cellmate so he wouldn’t catch a serious charge that would keep him locked down longer. In one scene his cellmate got caught with a shank in his mattress during a shakedown that Malachi hid in it. His celly got off with a one time warning. So yea Malachi took one for the team to keep his cellmate out of trouble.
this guy was my favorite in this movie. Such a deep brother. Great job by Clifton Powell in this movie
I love how he proved as an actor that he don't always half to play bad guys he can also rock the the house playing heroes aswell
