I live in Calgary but I grew up in the Annapolis Valley in Nova Scotia. One of my cousins fishes every Spring on the Gaspereau River. He catches the Gaspereau, an Alewife, a type of herring, and he sells some of them fresh and he smokes some too, my favourite. Happy eating. Bon Appetito.
