This was one of the better efforts of The Bible Collection, my favorite of all the "David" movies. I have no idea how many times I've popped this in my DVD player over the years, . . . maybe 20? Leonard Nimoy's portrayal of Samuel was brilliant, though too short lived! The actor playing Jonathon gave such a nuanced performance, it was hard to take my eyes off him. I've never seen an actor who fits Saul's physical description in the Bible, handsome and head and shoulders taller than all others, but this actor's performance is so noteworthy, that can be forgiven. Does is sound like I'm a big fan of this production? I am! :-)
In the nation of Ancient Israel hurling stones with a sling was considered a deadly weapon. David was a marksman in using that type of weapon. He was courageous because as a shepherd he rescued his sheep from lions and bears according to the scriptures. David was only 12 Yrs old and he took down a giant that was 9.5 Ft tall. When David hurled that stone it went deep inside Goliath's forehead. God's Holy Spirit played an active role in that because the Philistines were God's enemies. Jesus Christ was a descendant of King David according to the scriptures.

And when the Philistine looked about, and saw David, he disdained him: for he was but a youth, and ruddy, and of a fair countenance. And the Philistine said unto David, Am I a dog, that thou comest to me with staves? And the Philistine cursed David by his gods. And the Philistine said to David, Come to me, and I will give thy flesh unto the fowls of the air, and to the beasts of the field. Then said David to the Philistine, Thou comest to me with a sword, and with a spear, and with a shield: but I come to thee in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel, whom thou hast defied. This day will the LORD deliver thee into mine hand; and I will smite thee, and take thine head from thee; and I will give the carcases of the host of the Philistines this day unto the fowls of the air, and to the wild beasts of the earth; that all the earth may know that there is a God in Israel. And all this assembly shall know that the LORD saveth not with sword and spear: for the battle is the LORD'S, and he will give you into our hands. And it came to pass, when the Philistine arose, and came and drew nigh to meet David, that David hasted, and ran toward the army to meet the Philistine. And David put his hand in his bag, and took thence a stone, and slang it, and smote the Philistine in his forehead, that the stone sunk into his forehead; and he fell upon his face to the earth. So David prevailed over the Philistine with a sling and with a stone, and smote the Philistine, and slew him; but there was no sword in the hand of David. Therefore David ran, and stood upon the Philistine, and took his sword, and drew it out of the sheath thereof, and slew him, and cut off his head therewith. And when the Philistines saw their champion was dead, they fled. And the men of Israel and of Judah arose, and shouted, and pursued the Philistines, until thou come to the valley, and to the gates of Ekron. And the wounded of the Philistines fell down by the way to Shaaraim, even unto Gath, and unto Ekron. And the children of Israel returned from chasing after the Philistines, and they spoiled their tents. And David took the head of the Philistine, and brought it to Jerusalem; but he put his armour in his tent. And when Saul saw David go forth against the Philistine, he said unto Abner, the captain of the host, Abner, whose son is this youth? And Abner said, As thy soul liveth, O king, I cannot tell. Giants down, now 120,000 will follow 😁🗡
British were in Israel back then?
Seriously? Either Goliath is a normal size man or David is really big.
The Bible says Goliath stood about 9 feet tall and David was actually a little kid when he faced him, some people say he was like 11 or 12 years old at the time, were talking like maybe a scrawny little guy compared to Goliath
@@petedog1017 Actually he was 15
@@petedog1017 Yeah isn’t Goliath suppose to be 9 feet tall
Lol that guy is not over 9 foot tall. They could at least got someone who was close like 7'5-8 foot that guy looks likes he's 6'2
If that's Goliath then I could be him if I grow like 10 more inches
That was blood everywhere at galaya
David looks like a young Joel Osteen
Check out the video I just posted: David and Goliath | Rare Accurate Version | Best KJV Bible Movie
I think he looks like Michael Jackson.

Very biblically incorrect!
God was not begotten and was not begotten) This was said in the Qur’an, and did you know that Jesus was mentioned in the Qur’an more than our master Muhammad and the two Messengers, and God said about Jesus (And they did not kill him, nor crucified him, but it was likened to them) This is the truth and we love our master Jesus, the Bible has been distorted so you will find There are many copies, please read the Quran . God is one, God is like no other, God has no son
this is not what the bible says
Did i just saw Golliaths junk
