    Tiger 🐅 electronic games were everywhere in the 90's. I had a few of them growing up. My favorite was Street Fighter 2 😊

      I never got to play the tiger version but absolutely LOVED playing street fighter on the Genesis when i was younger. It was like the toned down version of MK hahaha. I also remember tekken, such cool fighting games

      @RetroVaultMedias The Tiger 🐅 games were pretty basic. That's why they were only $20 new. But growing up I had a few. I didn't get a console until Super Nintendo. My uncle bought it for me for Christmas 🎄 My parents didn't really have the money for game consoles and games. 😄

    My aunt was a toy engineer for a toy manufacturer in Hong Kong. That company makes literally half of the mainstream toys for most major brands, including Hasbro, Kenner, Mega blocks, etc. They also made Tyco remote control cars and countless others I just cannot recall. I would receive endless boxes full of toys from my aunt that she took from the factory. Ever since I was born, I had been receiving toys from my aunt, so I never really appreciated how lucky I was getting so much toys from her until I realized most kids didn't have anywhere as much toys as I had. I received so much toys from my aunt that my mom had to give most of them away to other people's kids. In the late 90's I sold most of them on eBay for fairly good prices. I wished I kept many of those toys I sold because many of them are impossible to find or are priceless. I still have about 20 Tiger games. They were terrible, but also extremely fun as a kid.

      Wow! Your childhood was every kids dream and every collectors envy! I moved a lot so all my toys as a child god downsized put for moves a lot. Do you have any of the original Kenner dolls? I think my dad may still have some of those as he was a star wars but and never let me touch them hahaha

      @@RetroVaultMedias Yeah, I received a lot of Kenner dolls and other girl toys. I had genuine sailor moon action figures and countless Batman action figures as well as spiderman toys. I also had a lot of Ghost Busters toys that are now worth a lot of money had my mom not threw them away. Ninja turtles action figures and playsets were my favorite, but I sold those on eBay back in 1999!!! I am starting to collect many of the toys I had when I was a kid and toys that I wanted, but never had the chance to buy!!!

    Your way off with the 1995 date you mentioned at 2:39. The Tiger LCD games started around 1988, Mostly as a response to Nintendo's Game and Watch Series. The Batman game you showed was kinda of a clue as it clearly said 1989 on the front.

      Not a horrific price for the new ones even, I kind of want ones to make my children deal with the frustration beeping and limited gameplay haha

    Just subscribed to your channel. I remember the Tiger handhelds. I had a few of these when I was a kid, in particular, game shows, which you unfortunately neglected to mention. In particular, I had Wheel of Fortune, Jeopardy!, Family Feud, The Price is Right and Who Wants to Be a Millionaire. I should consider buying them again and mentioning them on my channel.

      That would be a swell idea! They even have the new releases of the games by Hasbro who merged with them in '98. Subbed back, I'll be waiting for your vid 😊🤞

    Tiger handhelds used to sell where i live under the brand of "TecToy", that was the local company also in charge of bring SEGA products to us here in Brazil, like MegaDrive/Genesis and Master System content in the early 90ies.
    I had a Paperboy "mini game" (as we called it) and it was my first and only way to play a video game out of my home for many years beside the cheap Tetris clones, and i have many fond memories of it.
    Only when the Pokemon fever came and people started to import GameBoys we got a sight of what really a portable console could be.

    I miss my tiger electronics and other cheap lil handhelds. HELL I even had the little fillable "pinball" handhelds that used water to just push little rings or small balls into pachinko like platforms. Good times ^

    I had Street Fighter 2 and later on, Toy Story; I kinda enjoyed Toy Story because it didn't try to be complex or modern like most Tiger
    games (you're Woody running and you gotta "rescue" certain toys when they pop up, avoid the RC car, and you win the level by
    rescuing Buzz)

    • @RetroVaultMedias
      @RetroVaultMedias  2 місяці тому +1

      I feel like the more si.plistic games would have been better. The more complex and high speed, the more confusing they got. Like the racing games on the R-zone. It was way above its capabilities and ended up not reading and playing well
      *Edit for spelling

    I had the wwf wrestling watch... Playing a game on a watch was mindblowing to my 5 year old brain... But I do remember that it was easy for the first couple of wrestlers then I got super difficult where it wouldn't even let you get a move in no matter how hard you tried

    • @RetroVaultMedias
      @RetroVaultMedias  2 місяці тому

      The limitations on visability with action games sure left a lot of what happens next up to the imagination and guesswork than anything, kinda like the r-zone ports (especially the racing one). I'm sure it had you wrestling with the choice to pick it back up again or not 😂

    I also liked having my Tiger games just for the art featured on it. I think sometimes we overlook what it was like back in the day to have the time to sit and analyze the art and letting our imagination run with it.
    Ninja Gaiden was my favorite Tiger game. I was about 5 years old in Texas and my mom told me there was a tornado coming and I had only a couple minutes to grab anything I cared about so I got my blanket and Ninja Gaiden Tiger game and jumped into her Mustang. I still have it today.
    Luckily the tornado didn't hit our house so the rest of my game collection was fine.

    To be fair some of them were actually decent. I actually have fond memories of the first Sonic game based on it actually being playable and having music, however I was ultra disappointed with Sonic 2 where they were not able to match or improve. Then again it’s only so much you can do with limited tech. Another good memory was Double Dragon 3 which some would argue may have been better than the GameBoy version and definitely better than Double Dragon 1 on the Atari 2600. Yes a home console version of a game exists that is worse than the Tiger LCD version.
