Some of them on the ground clearly WERE incompetent.
Standards have to be lowered to accommodate DEI mandates, and the fruit of that was very clear in this event.
Exactly the opposite. The Director does not coordinate security plans - she's an executive, sitting in an office, doing budgets and policy.
The AGENTS who were responsible for designing and executing security screwed up.
Who was the lead on this team? That's the real question.

@@cryptidsntunes The Director can set policies and control budgets, which can have huge effects on the work of the field agents. For example, if they needed 30 agents to do the job correctly, and she says they only get 12, that's not on the local guys. They are going to have to work with it.
If she sets a policy that agents cannot be positioned on sloped roofs, that's not on the local guys. They are going to have to work with it.
I agree there certainly was a lot of incompetence on the ground, but we don't know the whole story yet, so it's too soon to be exonerating this DEI appointment. We don't know who decided to leave those rooftops vacant, and we don't know what budget decisions were made.
What we DO know about her is that she's very, very stupid. Either the story about the rooftops being sloped was a lie, intended to cover something bad, or she really believed that.
If it's a lie, she's very stupid to think anybody would buy that nonsense. If she really believes it, well, that's pretty stupid.
Either way, it proves she should not have the job.

So Whistleblowers told Senator Hawley that a number of Trump's Secret Service detail were not Secret Service at all ,but pulled from Dept of Homeland Security Investigations Unit. Who were they? What SS training were they given? How many protecting Trump that day were DEI (diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) hires? How many protecting Trump were not official Secret Service Agents but rather substitutions from other departments?
Collectively the security detail did a horrible job.
Anyone that puts their life on the line for another deserves all of our praise. The shooter allowed on the roof with a gun is another matter entirely.
Something fishy about the whole thing. Trump is secretive about the “injury”. No medical record released, no doctor statement, no talking about the injury in detail. Nothing.

What they did was not show the unedited video from start to finish, this is common. People ramble and will often speak off topic, hence the editing. When they edit they have to set up what the interviwee is about to reference next, otherwise there wouldn't be any smooth transitioning from one response to the next. This keeps it short and able to be aired as apart of a newscast which is typically an hour long. 60 minutes does long form interviews, local news stations do not.

Jill needed all the real SS agents for her Pittsburg rally; the DHS provided Trump with fill-in agents who were formerly investigative officers.
Complete BS statement about SS can’t dictate where an event is held. OK not where it’s held but they have LOTS of demands. When Obama showed up at our company location for a dedication ceremony some company personnel were restricted access to their own facility and a specific guest list of executives was provided and approved; after background checks. Instructions given about keeping a specific door open to be used for potential escape, an elementary school across the street was closed the day of in case Marine One needed to land. Day of: SS agent kicked in, and damaged the locked door, two hours before Obama arrived. So again I claim BS on this reporting.

Maybe we dont throw the whole apparatus under the bus sure. However I see no one taking accountability. No firings, no resigns, to break downs of their failures and them admitting to all they failed on and how they will correct it. It was a massive failure with no responsiblity taken, no moving of personnel, just "ahh fugedaboutit."
So when an apparatus does not fix itself, does not discipline itself, does not take accountability for itself, then the whole thing is corrupt. Or enough is corrupt where the power to the apparatus is located, that all faith is lost in the unit. THerefor people are going to blame the entire USSS.
This problem is everywhere in government. Substandard people are put in positions where they never should be. WHen shit goes wrong they say oh well. It keeps getting worse. There is no real accountability anymore and everything is falling apart at the seems.
