Moved here to Covington back in December of 2020 from Houston Texas and I actually like it quite a bit here still don’t know many people here but what few I have people are very nice otherwise it’s growing extremely fast population for sure
That's great to hear! Covington has a ton to offer especially, if you're not a "city" person. Welcome to Georgia... 2 years later 🤣🤣. Thanks for watching and I hope you continue to watch... you're sure to learn more about the surrounding suburbs. You never know, you may want to make a move one of these days...
I was born, raised and still live in Covington. It's changed quite a bit in the past 40 years. It's grown but not too fast and has a very deep history. Also, you passed a bunch of movie/tv show landmarks. Covington is one of the most filmed in areas in Georgia with movie studios minutes from the square. Do your research and let people know that it's likely they will run into filming around town.
I have visited there once a year for the past three years, making another trip there in a few weeks. My husband and I are considering moving out that way. One thing that I love is the rich history and TV shows and movies that were filmed there.I think should’ve been included in this video.
My husband and I just built a beautiful home on a one acre lot in Covington. We will be moving in on Saturday. We moved from Florida to Covington to retire and slow down. It’s different from what we’re used to as far as the beaches and weather. But, I’m ready for the quiet life and more space for less money. I love downtown Covington its so quaint
My husband I live in Covington and we moved here from Conyers in 2018. We absolutely LOVE Covington and plan to always have a home here even when we decide to have homes in other places. Covington has created a place in our hearts. We love the down home hallmark Christmas movie feel lol We’re in our late 20s with 2 little ones and it’s a great place to raise a family. it’s always beautiful here in Christmas for sure. Our downtown area is one of the most beautiful downtown areas I’ve been to for a small town feel. Give it a visit
I was born and raised in Covington and I still live here to this day. Covington has maid a huge change from how it use to be. But like he said you can still hit some pockets that will show you signs of how Covington use to be but I love it here. Its a lot of new faces forsure we wave and speak but new people look at us like why we here 😂 this our home 😂😂😂
Relocated & Retired to Covington Ga in 2021 from NYC. We have adjusted to the slower pase & Country hospitality & rural living. No real issues or concerns.
Covington is my home town, still have family there so I visit often. I moved to north Georgia 20 years ago when my husband's job relocated. Unfortunately Covington is not the small, rural, crime free town I grew up in. The Atlanta spread down I-20 & housing boom changed our little town in the early 2000's. You can still see pieces of what Covington once was in the square with the historic buildings.
Hey Ms. Pauline it was about 1:30 pm. I will also make you aware that I purposely try to keep people out of my videos for privacy purposes (ie witness protection, people fleeing domestic violence etc.). It was definitely not deserted and had a consistent flow of traffic both in cars and walking. I hope that helps.
I paid $112,000 for my home in Covington in 2003. In 2024, these houses are going for $250,000 or more. And it is still nice and quiet, even on the weekends.
Well unfortunately if you don't have a car it can be a bit sucks and also jobs are quite difficult to obtain there other than that it's good to live in terms of retirement an all and the people are very friendly
@@leludallasmultipass Which is overpriced and not very good. I've eaten in them. I do like Butcher Block but not Stalveys. Don't bother with any Chinese restaurants there. I do see that a Panda Express may have opened there, reviews are not good but I will try. I am not picky I like my chain restaurants as they are usually pretty good and uniform. The restaurants in Covington have very short operating times, too.
I moved here in Covington in 2018. I’m not sure if this video is a good depiction of what Covington really is because most people don’t go down to the historic district for shopping or enjoyment. Dogwood Avenue has a very good shopping center with TJ Maxx, homegoods, etc. but this historic area really caters to people who have probably lived here most of the lives. Also blacks really don’t shop here in this area. We go down for special events maybe but this isn’t really a good depiction of what Covington really is.
Dude, I moved here from California. Don't tell people to move here. They'll ruin it. They're already building apartments. That's how it starts. Keep this place off the map! Don't come here!
Absolutely agree. We will definitely keep fighting to keep mass housing out of our area. Conyers has become a nightmare because of it. Small town vibes is best
Covington is absolute trash. Born and raised there purchased my first home there and just recently sold and moved. Was an amazing town to grow up in. But has grown to fast in a short period of time with no signs of slowing down.
We live in Conyers right next door. We moved from south Florida. We love it here
Thank you for this video Brother, exactly the area my wife and I are looking to move to!

No Panda Express, Cracker Barrell, Frontera, Culvers, Lowe's. You have to go to McDonough.
