I use a hen lying on the ground, no stake and use a jake that's NOT In strut and have him on top of her. Man I've had some mad gobblers come zeroing in on that coupling. It's just too much for an aggressive Tom to let a jake mount a hen in his territory. If he sees that he won't see you, he's too focused on the decoys.
I agree, I always run a hen decoy but ive thought about adding a jake decoy too. Its just a lot to carry running and gunning on public land! Nice video

Dominance is a powerful thing!
Learned a lot from both videos!
Thanks for watching!
I actually haven’t used many decoys. I’m going to give them a try this season though. Great tips!!
Good luck this year man!
Valparaiso checking in!
Thanks for checking out the channel!

I’ve never hunted turkey on public, but I can see how carrying multiple decoys would be a hassle. You should check out some of the inflatable decoys.
I have the same exact Jake decoy and I have a hen. When would it be better to just use a hen compared to a hen and a Jake
Early in the season the hen and the Jake together should get you some good action. A little later in the year a solo hen might be a better option.
I like the look of that hen, may have to try it.
You really can’t beat it for the price!
