I agree that White should be rejected. But, I rebuke you for accepting the heresy of the conciliar decrees that damn men to hell for KEEPING the 7th day Sabbath. You are absolutely deceived by the devil of hell if you think a bunch of late-coming gentile bishops, 300+ years after Christ, were sanctioned by the "Lord of the Sabbath" to damn men to hell for keeping the 7th day Sabbath. Jesus spoke about such Tradition in Matt. 15:3, "Why do *you break the commandment of God for the sake of your Tradition?"*

When Orthodox or Catholics claim their institution is the "one holy Catholic and apostolic church" and imply others are outside salvation, they invariably run into contradictions and have to resort to something akin to the Protestant "invisible church" idea to resolve them. (Catholics usually call this "the heavenly church" or something like that).
In the case of Orthodoxy, there isn't a single Orthodox Church - they started schisming as early as the third century, and today we have Oriental Orthodoxy (Armenia, Egypt, Ethiopia, Iraq, India) against Eastern Orthodoxy (Greece, Ukraine) against Russian Orthodoxy (Russia). Russia and Ukraine are literally putting us all at risk of nuclear war due partially to this dispute. It isn't clear if Serbia, Bulgaria, Romania, etc. align with either party. Then we have smaller schismatic groups, like the Orthodox Church of Ukraine, that were once regarded as heretics but suddenly become full Orthodox when they reach a property agreement with one of the patriarchs. (Can you even imagine God sending you to hell one day, and then counting your soul redeemed the next, simply because people you've never met in a home office reach an agreement about the clergy pension plan with another Orthodox outfit?)
In Russia, we had a supposed true church underground, that wouldn't accept the KGB-managed church. I understand that's all good now.
Some time ago, the Oriental and Eastern Orthodox agreed to let bygones be bygones and accept each other as valid churches. (This seems to gloss over some questions about the Biblical canon, as the Oriental Orthodox have a different set of deuterocanonical books, especially the Ethiopians.) But they aren't yet formally united. So obviously, the "one church" rule is pretty flexible.

The thousand years is symbolic of the period between the Ascension and his second coming on the last day in which he reigns in heaven with his saints. The first resurrection is the spiritual one in which believers pass through the ordeal of bodily death to spiritual life in heaven to await the bodily resurrection and general judgement on the last day. That is why John saw the souls of the Martyrs in heaven at the altar of God and called this the first resurrection in Revelation 20. There is no literal political reign of Christ in the carnal city of Jerusalem for a thousand years. David's throne is the heavenly throne where he sits now. He is exalted now. When he comes again, it will be the new heavens and new earth. No left behind narrative but the eternal state.
      Acts 2 KJV
29Men and brethren, let me freely speak unto you of the patriarch David, that he is both dead and buried, and his sepulchre is with us unto this day. 30Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne; 31He seeing this before spake of the resurrection of Christ, that his soul was not left in hell, neither his flesh did see corruption. 32This Jesus hath God raised up, whereof we all are witnesses. 33Therefore being by the right hand of God exalted, and having received of the Father the promise of the Holy Ghost, he hath shed forth this, which ye now see and hear.
34For David is not ascended into the heavens: but he saith himself, The LORD said unto my Lord, Sit thou on my right hand,
35Until I make thy foes thy footstool. 36Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.

Christ himself says "you make the word of God of no effect, but by your tradition."
Leaven, even a tiny bit - spoils the whole loaf.

Well, The Ancient Church is always attack by "Christians " as Idolatry. For they failed to Understand a very important thing. Not everything is written down in the Bible, There are the Written and oral Traditions, Orthodox means "Right teaching". And you assume to call the Apostolic Tradition as " Traditions of men" you're probably deluded Because I've been A Protestant also before, and I can tell you that the Protestant Church did not even Hold what the Apostles Held and Died to Preserve. For Instance, Standing, Bowing and Prostrating during prayer.. Is an Ancient Christian Tradition from the Earliest Centuries Even Before Islam Came! Can you believe that??? Yet none of those Christians Regarded this Holy Tradition which came from Christ handed down to his Apostles. Instead they Abandoned it and Began Teaching and Creating what Seems "good" to them.
Modern "Christians" cannot even Prayed that way because they will say it looks to Islamic where as Islam only came 600 years after Christianity.

    • @deaconjohn7875
      @deaconjohn7875 15 днів тому

It was future from the perspective of the feast itself. Sabbaths are a shadow of things to come additionally because our Sabbath is the eternal rest of the kingdom of heaven as taught in the book of Hebrews. It is not the seventh day corresponding to the old creation. It is about the new creation. That is why the old is a "shadow". The old Law is a unit. To be under any of it is to be a debtor to all of it. That was Paul's argument in the book of Galatians. Jesus gives us the new law, his own commandments which internalize and expand the eternal elements of the old law but it is not the old law with part removed but Christ gives the new Law. The old law is not destroyed however, it is still valuable scripture but it is fulfilled and exists today for our instruction but we are not bound to it as a law of commandments and ordinances. St Paul argues this a great deal in Ephesians and Colossians. We are not under the old law of Moses but live instead within the new law of Christ. We reject the Judaizing heresy as a yoke of slavery. The new testament does not teach the continuation of obligatory weekly seventh Day Sabbath, feasts of old covenant, food laws etc. This is not continued as legislation in the New law of Christ but "Christ is the culmination of the law for the justification of all who believe" Romans 10:4.

7th day Sabbath was established by God (Gen. 2:2), affirmed by Moses (Ex. 20), kept by Christ (Lk.4:16), by Paul (Acts 17:2), by all believers everywhere since ancient times (Acts15:21).
Then, the "mystery of lawlessness" that was "already at work" in Paul's day, seduced the gentile converts that eventually formed Councils that literally damned men for KEEPING the 7th day Sabbath.

      2. You misread Colossians 2:16 precisely backward. Who is more likely to be judged: the person keeping or breaking the Law? Context proves Paul was negating the "Traditions of men" (V8,22). We know Jesus, Paul, and the earliest gentile converts kept 7th day Shabbat (Lk. 4:16, Acts 17:2, Acts 13:41).

Sabbatarianism is a damning heresy as it put the person under the whole law and its curse of not keeping all of it. Leave the shadows of the old law and walk in the light of the reality of Christ!

The Greek Text could have used the word for un- leavened bread( Azymes) in the Eucharist but the word for leavened bread( Artos) was used instead, a loaf. The bread is unleavened figuratively as Paul describes..

The Law DEMANDS UNleavened Passover. The text of Luke 22 calls it UNleavened. It was Passover. Period. Paul calls us UNleavened in regards to Passover because the Law requires UNleavened bread. Break your conciliar Talmudic conditioning. The Greek word can be used generally for "bread," in the sense that pitas, rye, white, wheat, leavened, unleavened, are all *bread.*

@@deaconjohn7875 Philo and Josephus referred to unleavened bread (matzah) as "bread" (artos). [cf. Spec. Leg., II, 158; Ant., II, 316 and Ant. III, 142]. The Gospel writers could use the general word for bread in the context of the Feast of Unleavened bread because everyone knew, beyond dispute, that it was UNleavened. Also, look at Eusebius's "Church History" (bk.5,ch. 24?), where Polycrates defends the ancient Quartodeciminism of Antioch "when the people throw out the leaven" versus Rome's false date that was canonized at Nicea, even though Polycarp was a 14er.

@@1ChasingRays We are not under the old Law and Christ is the Living Bread. Whatever the law demands are for when the laws and ordinances were in force, not now. We are not under the old law. Historically the church always used a loaf for the Eucharist. The dead unleavened bread is only of type....now the kingdom of God is likened unto a leavened loaf.

20And again he said, Whereunto shall I liken the kingdom of God? 21It is like leaven, which a woman took and hid in three measures of meal, till the whole was leavened.

10For there are many unruly and vain talkers and deceivers, specially they of the circumcision: 11Whose mouths must be stopped, who subvert whole houses, teaching things which they ought not, for filthy lucre's sake. 12One of themselves, even a prophet of their own, said, The Cretians are alway liars, evil beasts, slow bellies. 13This witness is true. Wherefore rebuke them sharply, that they may be sound in the faith; 14Not giving heed to Jewish fables, and commandments of men, that turn from the truth. 15Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled. 16They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.
