Good talk. Everyone else, Orthodox or not, please stop arguing online. Don't feed the trolls, and pray for the sincerely curious to find a local priest. People are giving and getting pat 2-3 sentence answers to questions that should be discussed for hours or days (or a lifetime?), hopefully over coffee, with a real flesh and blood person who cares about you. Orthodoxy is an incarnational faith!
Sir, I believe you have good intentions with your post, but please allow me to give you a new perspective. I am Orthodox, newly illumined on this past Holy Saturday. I am 49 years old, and spent the entirely of my life opposed to what I believed Christianity was. I wouldn't have walked into a church to save my own life, let alone sought out a priest for any reason. Around age 44, a change began to happen, first in my mind, and it was due to the "arguments" I read online. The very people (fellow Christians) you are chastising for "feeding the trolls" began to work though my lifetime of disbelief by presenting legitimate, rational arguments to those who repeatedly and constantly pronounced the mainstream, secular views as "the truth". I read and researched the things they said, slowly learning that everything I had always thought to be true was nothing but a lie. Without those people championing the legitimacy of our faith, I may never have opened my eyes to the truth of Christ. I owe them all (poor arguments and excellent ones alike) gratitude for softening my mind and heart to the salvation I now know is attainable only in Jesus Christ through His Holy Orthodox Church. While I don't disagree that to become deeply fleshed into the faith a priest is required, the door must be opened somehow, and in these modern days of social media and internet discussion threads, it is the best reach Christians have to spread the saving message of Jesus Christ. Arguments and discussions lead to enlightened thought. Enlightened thought encourages seeking truth, and seeking truth opens the door to the Holy Spirit. Was every single argument I read online a catechism? Of course not. But it was ENOUGH to lead me exactly where I needed to go when searching in spirit and in truth. Folks who are truly opening their hearts to the Holy Spirit will hear His voice above the noise, and truth will come through, but only if those who are "on the ground" so-to-speak, preaching amongst the people still have a voice. We are Christians. We should never cease spreading our message of salvation, through any means available, in the face of doubters, deniers or "trolls". Be blessed.
Father Josiah, this video is so very important! In a world where there is so much confusion manipulation and propaganda on all levels we pray this video (with our Lord's help) open our spiritual eyes so that we realise that the Jewish Messiah is the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ ...
Christ is risen! Fr. Josiah doesn't mince words. I appreciate his candor in talking about this issue. Catering to Jewish sensibilities does them a disservice in regard to their salvation. By God's grace, may all the lost sheep come back into the fold.
17:52 Never lean on your lineage.... I had an uncle who was a Catholic Bishop and as much I looked up to him I know my own in Jesus is what brings salvation.
Jesus didn’t have an axe to grind at all against Rome, because being God in the flesh he foresaw that Rome in the early 300s AD was going to recognize Christianity for the whole Empire. Yes, Jesus came to save every human but especially also to fulfill the Old Testament prophecies as to the Messiah, to give the Israelites ( the chosen people) another chance to live up to the promises and commands of God. In the 2000 years that passed, on balance Christianity arose from its origins in the Holy Land and spread magnificently into all of Europe, the New World (Americas) and to various degrees into Africa, Asia, Australia, the Philippines, and even Hindu India. I have often pondered “what if” Islam, a made made cult, wasn’t invented in the 600s AD didn’t occur, then no doubt Christianity would be even more widespread and prevalent in the current Islamic nations. However, I fully trust in the Holy Trinity that Christianity will indeed ultimately prevail and take strong “grafting” in all the nations in this world. Islam is a House of Cards that is bound to fall as modern honest researchers and scholars are revealing to the world that this Arabian centric religion growing out of paganism and polytheists isn’t true. Make no mistake about it the Holy Trinity, our triune God, has a divine plan and is in total control of earth whether or not it is visible or understandable. Because Jesus came to change dramatically Jews and graft the gentiles, Jesus can easily also through mysteries to us Christians vanquish the grip other religions have upon their peoples and nations. Christianity was meant starting 2000 years ago to become the one and true salvation religion for all nations and peoples. This Holy Week offers hope and inspiration that indeed Christianity will prevail everywhere on earth as the magnificent and perfect divine plan, as mysterious it seems to be to us mortals, is in progress and fruition to the end times with the second coming. Hence, “Trust” in this divine plan.
Yes the Orthodox Church which is the true religion will prevail. It’s important to note the Orthodox Church because saying Christianity implies all of the other “bodies” which are a derivative of Rome in this millennium. Remember Rome detached itself from the body of Christ and all the others from Rome whom is mistaken. So in my opinion we should always state the Orthodox Church when talking about these matters so that we can bring all other Christian’s home to orthodoxy as a loving act. As there is only one baptism.

AMHN ☦️..16 And as many as walk according to this rule, peace and mercy be upon them, and upon (the Israel of God.)
17 From now on let no one trouble me, for I bear in my body the marks of the Lord Jesus.
18 Brethren, the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with your spirit. Amen...Hosea 11:1 ,“(When Israel was a child,) I loved him, and out of Egypt I called (my son.)”Isaiah 9:6
6 For to us a child is born, to us( a son )is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. There is neither Jew nor Greek, there is neither slave nor free, there is neither male nor female; for (you are all one in Christ Jesus.) 29And if you are Christ’s, (then) you are Abraham’s seed, (and heirs) according to the promise

In vain some stubborn unbelievers are relaying in blood and flesh inheritance, flesh and blood will not inherit the Kingdom of Heaven.

Is it fair to say that the whole nation rejected Him? Much of the nation was still in exile from the Assyrian conquest of the Israel, and even the Babylonian exile. There was also a significant diaspora all over the levant.
It's not like modern day, where news travels super fast and accurate...
So sad that there is the coffee mug spot in this good video.

Wait, you guys in the US stop fasting during the Holy Week? Did i not understand it correctly? Here in my country (and most of Europe for that matter) we usually hold an even harsher fast during this time and it really is one of the most blessed weeks of the year

@@jamesbancroft2467 Lent is over but we fast during Holy Week too. We commemorate the end of the Lenten fast by... Fasting till Pascha.
There is absolutely nothing blessed about the Godless abominations of orthodoxy or catholicism. Repent!
You don’t stop fasting during holy week. If anything you fast more.
@@observer1242 ,...Where does the Bible tell us to celebrate Holy week? Where does the Bible tell us to fast for Holy week?
yes yes INDEED...we were given the kingdom and grafted into the root and branch to produce THE SAME FRUIT as those cut off for their disbelief...and NOT the fruit of all the clever traditions of man...his glorious traditions...his most important councils...
it's simple...testimonies are sealed at the death of the testator...no changes to His testimony He both taught AND DEMONSTRATED prior His sealing the lifestyle of the New Covenant...NO CHANGES Paul confirms Galatians 3:15

I do not want you to be ignorant of this mystery, brothers and sisters, so that you may not be conceited: Israel has experienced a hardening in part until the full number of the Gentiles has come in,

With all due respect Sir, it seems to me you embrace " Replacement theology ". It is also all of us and our sins who crucified Christ . What do you say about Messianic Judaism. Thank you for reading this,,God bless you and yours.Sincerely as always
Yep, but it is said the election of God is without repentance.
"I say then, has God cast away His people? Certainly not! "
"For if their being cast away is the reconciling of the world, what will their acceptance be but life from the dead?"
The Jews (Israel in the flesh) will repent at the Resurrection of the Dead.
They are that Women in Revelation 12 also....the whole birth pains idea refers to them, ie Jacobs trouble until they give birth to faith in Messiah.
Do you drink the blood of Christ in the Ortodox Church?
We Catholics don't do it.
We only take the Holy eucharist. It would be interesting to know..
