Really pleased with the consistency of the LP SmartSide and ProStruct Flooring we are using in our painted line of buildings! Keep up the great work!
This is great stuff (no pun intended) to work with - easy to cut, easy to install, etc....
The ventilated soffits are pretty nice looking too
I overbought for a project and ended up using some for the roof. (Small shed) It's still holding up 2-3 years later. I clicked on this video for one reason and it's the only step you didn't show lol. I was curious if The top layer was made out of a thin layer of cement.
My guess would be a mixture of Portland cement and maybe... some sort of resin..?
What about using it where woodpeckers may be a issue?? I am considering using smartside on a deer blind. Maybe a house also.
Read the warranty. It still hates water.
I wouldn't use this crap for a doghouse in western WA state.
Can you install LP SmartSide over fiber cement board?
Hi Randy, we do not recommend that you install LP® SmartSide® Trim & Siding over fiber cement.
Who paints it? How’s it painted?
You paint it; your painter guy paints it. What I mean, is not magic or particular details to paint: just good quality paint. Due to its textured surface, you can paint either with a paintbrush or spray. Just don't try to use a roller as it cannot get into the details of the texturing and will be a waste of time.
@Caley Cavanaugh My project was done last year. It was a small shed for my daugher.
Another nice thing these can be cut to to size on sawhorses and get them painted right away.
Easier to do on the bench, then maybe just minor touch ups.

@@Lpsmartsidesiding No one in Ohio. All have to travel from out of state which makes LP the most costly to use. Shame it was my first choice.
This neighborhood is Exhibit A why there is a climate crisis
This is painful... using OSB for exterior trim?? I don't care how many chemicals you add, this is garbage that will rot in any wet climate. LP SmartSide is the spam of trim!
