I only ever had 300 HP in a 03 jeep grand Cherokee high output 4.7 and that bitch weighed damn near 5000 lbs.

My 5th gen makes 520 wheel and it jumps harder and gets all sorts of wild. Torque from a big displacement LS over any honda

My d16y8 was 300/300 at 18lbs. 62mm snail, on C16 made 490hp, 368tq limiter set at 9,700 rpms.
It was obnoxiously quick and people hated being beat by it, and met a lot of cool guys along the way too though. The only part I didn't care for was the speedo only read 130 so after 2nd gear I basically had to guess my speed. I never got around to putting a digital speedo in it. It did 10:90 qtr mile on street tires. The roll cage was certified for 200 I paid 7k off craigslist for the car. Guy got it brand new in 95 off the showroom floor and spent 20k and 13 years building it, shipping the block out for sleeving and the heads to Cali for 3 way port n polish it for sure scared everyone I put in the passenger seat. He built it for autocross but then got his girl pregnant and she told him to sell it. Luck would have it I was scrolling through the ads and I ignored the ad at first the parts list was 2 pages almost. I thought it was a scam.. few days passed and it showed up again. Called him. He took me for a ride and I paid the man. Played with it for about 9 months and decided to sell it to someone else and let them have fun. I miss the car, and kinda regret letting it go, but I didn't build it and kinda left me with empty pride when I won against other cars. Dunno what happened to it, like to think someone made it their own and enjoyed the rush. I was in love with the spooling noise in 3rd gear at 7k rpm sounded like I was a jet engine flying in the air.

That sound of the tires 🛞 just spinning on the pavement, and then catching is the best sound ever, followed by the sound of that sweet sounding turbo spool, and that engine sound.
This is probably the smoothest sounding honda I've ever heard very good build

@@fengyang7851 d16z6 with a 14b internally polished turbo, hard pipe intercooled, aem under drive pulleys, 12:1 fmu, 10psi 2.5 inch exhaust from turbo back, 3 puck custom clutch, flywheel, fuel rail, ported throttle body hondata heat gasket. Everything was gasket matched. I built the car when I was young just getting into the automotive field gun ho-putting the work in to make efficient. I even put poly bushing on anything I could.
Internet was not what it is today, I didn’t know enough to have it tuned but it ran real good. It smoked a supercharged c5 and tons of evos, sti and domestics. I put nasty tires on it, it hooked and spooled fast!!!

That's pretty damn good numbers for a Y8! It hits full boost quickly too. You chose the right turbo. I had a 257 whp JDM D15B VTEC in my EJ8 Civic coupe, but I missed the torque and went with a bored built LSVTEC. It currently makes 709 whp at 29.5 psi. Yeah, it's a drag car that runs on E85 and with the 1320 twin disc clutch it's extremely rough to drive on the street.

I had a 97 DX. SOHC with a Garrett 50 trim. 326 whp. Took out most on the street back in the day. Frankenstein lol loved that crappy azz car. Would run tits.

The d series definitely isn't fast but man the best story's and the most fun I've ever had was in a clapped out 98 sedan with 200k miles and an ebay turbo kit UNTUNED

@@fengyang7851 the oiling capability on a y8 crank is very poor, evidenced by spun rods. I've seen too many. Btw, I'm putting together a z6 with the Vitara/eagle setup, and an ebay gt2871. Should be fun
@@jdm_eh9367 that’s why I went with a z6 crank. If I were you I would do forged pistons with a 10:1 compression. More responsive and less boost to run. If I do another build that’s the route I would go.

How reliable has it been?
Speaking from experience, the EK really benefits from traction bars linking the A-arms to the radiator support.
My B20 swapped coupe had terrible wheel hop until I built some. It totally changed the car. I had an offroad shop weld me a couple. It only cost a couple hundred bucks

Not at all. They are getting some aftermarket backing to them now
You can probably make 300hp on stock internals but not recommended. You’ll bend your rods. Build list is in description.
