In my head, playing paradiddle-diddles as straight 16th notes in a 3/4 time signature just wouldn't work. They'd have to be tripolets. But somehow, that's not making sense either. They are just scrapes. The first paradiddlediddle (By drum #) is 2 1 3 3 3 3 and the second is 3 3 3 3 1 1. The measure that follows is all scrapes and diddles as follows - 3 1 3 3 2 1 2 2 1 1 2 2. After that they are singles until the end of that phrase which ends on a drum 4 shot release.
To me they don't sound like concert toms, but I do agree with you that they sound different than the tenors I'm used to hearing. They sound... higher and tighter.

you can never be good at rudiments. rudiments are NOT cadences so its something you cant perfect. It basically goes on, the tempo should get faster everytime you get comfortable.
