Cool to hear you bring out something like that that is cringe worthy but showing how you developed it. Pretty cool. It is like showing off your first paintings when you were a small child and showing them off many years later. I did that as well way back in the day when I was 17/18 years old. My friend an I didn't even have 4 tracks as that was too expensive for us to afford. We used 2 tape decks and over-dubbed back and forth multiple times. YOu can only imagine how bad the tape his was after a while, plus on top of that, if you screwed up, you had to restart from the beginning. Yup lots of mistakes were made. LOL
Thanks for openly sharing those first writing exercises. Cringy lyrics apart :·) , the different takes show a clear progression. We all chose our fine and dandy stuff for UA-cam, but it is refreshingly nice to revisit old stuff, and as a fellow producer, I can tell you devoted countless hours to that multitrack recorder. Kudos for the honesty and openess. Keep posting your music !!!
My first recordings were made on Protracker. Only Guitars were "live", drums sequenced from samples taken from other mod-s, bass was basically sampled low E guitar string and played as virtual instrument but very low. Every song was made at first take and then rebalanced, refxed, repanned etc. for whole week:) Still remember when i played guitar track together with bass and drums for first time, and was like "Oh my God it's just like a real song!!!" :D
