was i the only one who LOVED that soda. lol. i remember the day on 42nd street when i got like 5 of them and rank em all. so goood. thank goodness i kept the bottles.. man i miss the soda...
Anderson had good reason to spit it out - the American version was loaded with artificial sweetners and probably tasted like crap, compared to the Coke Blak sold outside of the States, which was sweetened with sugar.
Coca cola Blak was a great drink and I really miss it now its gone! how can someone live that long having never drunk coffee! its astonishing! if he's never had coffee before is it not possible he wouldn't like that either?
This is funny. Thanks for sharing! (You don't have the whole show do you??) :) (I thought he looked like he was going to hurl for a minute there.) Your own show nightly on CNN, being asked to co-host a popular morning show - being able to spit on the floor on live tv?? Priceless
I remembered my small town of Bluffton was a trial area for coke Blak before it came out. The bottle looked different than these ones and it had real sugar in it (It tasted amazing). I do believe the cap was still a twist off, but it was metal; not plastic. Then after about 6 months when the full product hit stores, the bottle looked like these and the taste was horrible. Something about it made me very sick to my stomach. Not the taste, but something IN the drink. Whatever the trial version was, I'd like it back. It tasted pretty damn good.
Maybe the trial version was the European version, from what I know American soft drinks have used nothing but high fructose corn syrup instead of cane sugar since the early eighties because the cost of sugar went right up and they sought a cheaper alternative and that does affect the flavour! I believe that the French version had slightly more coffee essence and of course used real sugar so its hardly surprising the US version was compromised.
katakisLives Sugar is expensive, and the US has very little natural sugar resources and cannot afford to import it in bulk. I tend to buy Mexican made coke.
Just made calculations. Average american uses about 100 grams of sugar a day. So that is 100x365x321m/1000= 11 716 500 000 kg of sugar. So that 10 million tons is not covering that, but anyway artificial sweeteners are cheaper. +junkkact
Blak is the new black. Sorry, I just had to say it. I actually loved the American version of the Coca-Cola variation. Light carbonation and nice espresso taste. I've had coffee sodas in Spain and Morocco, and it's an easy thing to oder in any good espresso cafe in the US, Canada and Mexico: a shot of espresso, a little sugar and sparkling water. On the cheap, you can make your own Coke Blak by mixing regular Coca-Cola(Mexican Coke is best) with instant espresso or good instant coffee.
Cheech got most of his points by being quickest on the buzzer and getting the easy questions like "what kitchen utensil do you use to baste a turkey". Comedians are sharp people anyway if they are any good at their job. At least Anderson won big on his first Jeopardy apprearance. The cable bews show hosts who've been on Jeopardy from the other news networks have been complete losers. Olbermann and FOX's Gretchen Carlson lost to a comedian, Carlson getting decimated. Chris Matthews lost.
These came out when I was in elementary school so maybe my sense of taste wasn't "refined" but it was extremely mid. I just drank it to feel like an adult (coffee = adult lol)
Jajajaj, they follow a marketing campaign paid by coke, since they showed the brand, but Cooper wasn't ashame of just giving his personal thoughts and spitting the beverage in a live transmission. That's what I call an excellent and honest reporter, despite what companies try to do to cheat us.
Anderson Cooper is quite an individual. Have you guys noticed his reat sense of humour coupled with his innate ability to think on his feet? It seems as if he does not wrtite his questions prior to interviews but just asks questions as per the situation. Always excellent, pertinent questions. Joshua Spencer
the whole coke blak phase was hilarious... they brought it out stating it had coffee in it right on the label, then they changed the label replacing the word coffee with caffiene and then it disappeared! my 4 year old's mother still has one of the original bottles with the original label UNOPENED!! that's going to make my daughter rich one day (not to mention the 300+ coke products in her house including the first coke barbie dolls)
Damn straight! if you don't like black coffee you have no place judging this drink! I bought loads of it and it was expensive because it was only available as an import
Hmm, I remember trying Coke Blak in 2006 when they were giving away free bottles of a university campus tour. I really liked the stuff. I guess it's just one of those things you either love or hate. The bottle was great too.
I once heard that this incident contributed to the decline of Coca Cola Blak! such a shame they discontinued it as it was the best Coke variation since Cherry Coke! I think it was never really given a proper chance! the best version was the sugar version from Europe!
I think he did it on purpose cos I think he tried it the first time, swallowed it, and took another sip just to spit it out... He should be on this show more often, he's so funny but he has to be so serious doing the news...
Dear Anderson, It's a shame that your great line went right over their heads "Mmmm, I think you'd be amused by its presumption." Brilliant line that in one quick moment pokes fun at us wine snobs and foodies. Cheers! Who would "get" the brilliance of your wordage? For starters, Steve Allen, Herb Caen, Jack Kerouac, Tom Robbins, Rick McKinney, Will Shortz, Garrison Keillor.. just to name a few. Keep the words flowin' bro!
7-Eleven is a convenience store, but Piggly-Wiggly is a grocery store. Cooper not knowing this is stranger than Ripa asking if anyone doesn't know about 7-Eleven.
I remember my teacher got the first bottle off the line from our local plant. I tried a sip of it and I really liked it! But now its gone, isn't it? =[
AC drank the coffee.. and quickly put the glass down... LOL his expression..."must drink....no can't..must act cool... keep straight face....yuck" *spits*
My 61 year old godmother loved that stuff. I thought it was okay. Some speculate that this contributed to its death. I'd blame the crowded market place myself. Either way, its funnier when Regis acts like a senile old man. >.>
I would probably do the same thing, Like Anderson i don't drink coffee either (I'll have an iced one every now and then) I don't think they sell it anymore 9at least not in Canada, I haven't it seen it around in a while.
"I don't drink hot things!" That sounds so cute XD
holy shit, he actually spit it out! he's my hero, and someone totally laughing their ass off after he does it, and kelly's face, lol
Personally, I loved this stuff, and wish Coke would bring it back.
They just did
@@kojisyntax that's what I'm saying
Coke Blāk sucked. The new Coke with coffee is way better
I somehow missed Coke Blak. I’m guessing I should be glad.

And separately
I love the Regis and Kelly show. It rocks. :P

His laugh omg. It's precious.

Im not fucking crazy!!! i've told my friends about this and they said it didn't exsist. hahahaha
kelly has got to be one of the sweetest most down to earth people in hollywood. she cracks me up!

haha, i love Anderson. and his laugh! lol i love it.

he is my soul mate.
Im willing to bet he drinks at least one hot fluid. LMAO
@@OptimusSatanas dear god that was 10 years ago LOL i drink hot drinks now tho
@@KaliGam LMAO I saw your comment when it was posted, it just took me ten years to come up with that low-hanging-fruit joke about cooper.
@@OptimusSatanas 😂😂😂 LOL i bet it’s “low hanging”…since we’re doing jokes

The version I drank was from France! and it was really good!
Ah. I miss the good old days drooling over him hosting The Mole

I have a bottle of this! Never knew it was this famous.
Anderson Cooper is the BEST!
Thanks dear 💗❤️♥️
He's adorable!
The greatest soda drink of all time 2nd to vanilla coke

Anderson is absolutely ADORABLE I could listen to him giggle all day. xoxo
I really appreciate dear
I used to ride my bike to the general store in town to buy these as a kid. I loved Coca Cola blak. Heart braking.

Anderson is amazing, so glad he's on my team!
I love Anderson! :)
ahaha, I love Anderson Cooper :D
I'm just impressed that he correctly identified it as an umlaut!
Actually, that's a macron. An umlaut would be 2 dots above the letter.
sad they don't make this any more. I actually like it. now I get ONE CAN of coke and add a "shot" of stok (google it) taste about the same.
i love how you can only hear the one guy laughing...
Probably the most blatant plug in all of TV history...

that's Kelly Ripa...one of the most beloved talk show hosts and soap opera stars of all time...where've you been?
No, I'm a Cubs fan and they haven't been in the World Series since '45.
Gotta update this one lol.
i love AC, kelly you rock too!
omg he reminds me of Bill Maher. Both awesome guys :D
good to know VisionnerzBN, for you I recommend Pepto-Bismol and maybe some discretion too.
Lol, I can't picture AC spitting out something he doesn't like to drink on the floor at CNN. "Nope, don't like strawberry melon shakes - SPEW!"
