This is a Woody Guthrie song actually! I don't think anyone quite plays it like I do. I fingerpick on the banjo similar to a guitar, because I've been picking the guitar for so long. I also play "clawhammer" or over hand style as well. Woody was a major influence on Bob's songwriting, as I'm sure you know. But Bob nor Woody played banjo, as far as I know. Maybe someone else in UA-cam land could shed some light on this? Interesting question!
@@zkafel You are right I just meant the tune/vibe sounds more similar to ‘I was young when I left home’ by Dylan than the Guthrie versions of this song which I’m familiar with - it’s good whatever it is!

Oh, also...my banjo is tuned to standard pitch I think and standard banjo open G tuning (gDGBD) in this rendition. Thanks for listening!
