further representing chaos is bitter sweet since that never got the closure it needed and doing all this makes that more and more likely. personally i think ascension would be a cool map for them to revisit with this crew, since thats were weaver lost his eye in Bo1
Also need to remember that the chaos story was hinted at during vanguard in one of the radios with the mention of Allistair Rhoades(I don’t know how to spell his name lol)
I find it interesting that S.A.M is saying to go get an artifact in Avalon, all while in the intro to liberty falls shows richtofen being captured and teleported somewhere- unknown (which is all based only hours before/after terminus). I believe shes playing on our teams emotions and using them since theyve been locked up and the 4 characters all keep mentioning their interrogations and possibly going crazy throughout being on an island with that same AI unit. Im super interested in the fact that the sentinel artifact is also pictured in an origins style/chronorium stylized illustration. Maybe ‘origins’ is being re-written in this time line/universe. Maybe we will go back to ancient evil style map for the artifact! Im actually so impressed with the story so far
Hey, do we think that the SAM AI really doesn’t know where Richthofen is or do you think it’s lying, because in the liberty falls cutscene which happens at the same time as terminus, there’s some sort of Sam-esk entity that supposedly takes Richthofen into the dark aether
@@lileofficial4273 here's my theory, if I remember in Forsaken, Samantha sacrifices herself to contain the Forsaken right. He’s not dead. If she is contained with the Forsaken, are we sure she's fully sane anymore?

They were saying “something is wrong with Sam” as if Sam was a project they were working on or something. So, that’s another sign that this is in fact the AI they are talking about. 3. She was a literal machine… This is what I’m thinking. I think the real Sam corrupted the AI Sam and now she’s manipulating weavers team to get her the sentinel artifact. That’s why the outbreaks happened as soon as they broke out. Why does she want the artifact? Who knows. To free herself from the dark aether or something.
Let me tell you. I have been asking for Chaos to return. I was really interested in that story and was disappointed that it ended. This may not be a full revival, only time will tell. However, even seeing the Sentinel Artifact in this story line is a huge step that got me hyped when I finished the EE
Man what an excellent breakdown. At 36, I appreciate this type of reflective story where they subtlety tell the journey and struggles of the studio within the lore. We give these guys shit, but the writers are giving it their absolute best and it was evident here. Also, I’ve always hoped they would tie all zombies lore together because WW2 and chaos both had some strengths that added to the original lore and world. Who are we to say something is or isnt possible in their created fantasy world. If they can make this work, this will be a creative achievement for this team to hang their hats on. Thanks to Milo and the devs for helping get this community back hype.
I do agree that it's highly likely that Chaos was also pulled into the Dark Aether at the end of Tag der Toten, and was rebooted along with Aether, but I also think it's possible that Chaos hasn't been affected in any way. Chaos could be retconned to have always taken place in the Dark Aether Storyline. It could work, because the Vanguard Dark Aether is very similar to Chaos(especially looking at Ancient Evil). The Chaos Story starts right before World War 1, so it doesn't overlap or contradict with the Dark Aether Story in any way, and since we didn't get to see where Chaos went after Ancient Evil, the entire situation could've been resolved before we get anywhere near the events of Vanguard during World War 2.
People keep saying Samantha is lying to our crew, cause she captured richtoften. But the one that captured richtofen is clearly the REAL samantha hence the dark aether energy, this AI samantha were with is made off of samantha from years ago too. She is entirely separate to the Samantha in the dark aether

I’m more excited by the gameplay implications of chaos returning rather then story. They can reuse some of the chaos assets again and perhaps bring those cancelled maps too good use?
can't help but wonder if by trying to bring his son samuel back, things will somehow get complicated and spit out stuhlinger instead. richtofen and stuhlinger were heavily connected in the original timeline after all, so its maybe not out of the realm of possibility for the dark aether or sentinel artifact or whatever richtofen ends up using, to pick up on his connection to victis samuel over son samuel. stuhlinger had alluded to being in contact with more richtofens than just ultimis or primis if i remember right. some quote about the "other other richtofen" i believe? if that came to be, it'd be interesting if richtofen ACTUALLY thought stuhlinger was his son too, believing he had just been aged up to 50/60/however old stuhlinger is due to some dark aether time manipulation. could see the two teaming up as part of a 4 man crew in a future map and having some sort of weird father/son dynamic while stuhlinger is just confused out of his mind in reality, its not something i expect to happen, but it'd be interesting if richtofen's son being named samuel turned out to be more than just a throwaway homage to stuhlinger
Honestly, bringing in Chaos is the best thing the devs could do to continue the Dark Aether story. There was so much untapped potential being left on the table with that universe and im so glad we're getting a continuation of that story. More critically, it means Treyarch has realised that Dark Aether is NOT the Aether story. Different universe, different characters doing different shit, its entirely possible that Sam and Eddie walking into the unknown at the end of Tag der Toten took them into the same universe Chaos took place in, albeit somewhat retconned.
Hell no they’re the most uninteresting of all the crews I don’t even remember a single voice line that stuck wit me n I played it relentlessly. I mean jus look at the comparison to the other crews, chaos has the typical playboy, a typically hot women, a typical smart old man, and a classic meathead it’s like a garbage movie cast of cliché characters. Now compare that to a Asian swords man, a russian solider who fought and survived in Berlin, a mad scientist, and corporal world war solider. Now let’s compare it to the SOA crew u got a boxer who cheats his fights, a corrupt cop, a stripper who murders men, and a magician who practices black magic.
Bo4 zombies slapped tho but the crew hell no. But I’ll take the chaos crew over weavers group any day like seriously tf is weaver doing in zombies😭 who’s idea was this.
There was a quote during the EE or just a random quote that mentioned 'the gods' and you see the artifact on the stone. And chaos played heavily into multiple gods so we can see a bring back or....Vanguard lmaooo
Ya got it there, it's confirmed Kortifex was Anubis or Ra, one of those-Saraxis a weird Japanese god- Belekar the Q-something god of Mexico-Inviktor was Ares- Norticus Odin. So yeah it's pretty possible
With the intro of liberty falls, it could be suggested that richtofen was taken either to the dark aether OR Avalon to seek the sentinel artifact by SAM. This AI isn’t benevolent because there’s no way it could’ve caused the outbreak without a plan it’s own
The chaos storyline now being canon is just gojng to make things wacky now will be interesting to see how they write it in I assume they added because it genuinely ends in a cliff hanger and the current story has definitely been lacking to say the least b06 looks promising but still some things that could be better
I think it’s most likely Kraft is also an AI or robot by this point. Surely a massive mob wouldn’t have trouble torturing an old man. However hacking an advanced AI might give them some trouble.
The end card is step up as most recent video instead of a specific video so at the time of this video it was right but since then he has uploaded new videos and it has changed
I love the fact that theyre bringing chaos story back, and theyre bringing back the classic richtofen vs sam beef that was in bo1 and bo2. Feels very og cod with them leading from the shadows but being against each other
I literally have no idea what you’re talking about in this video - but thank you for explaining everything. I’m glad the zombie community are getting more lore and interesting content
Really wish they were better at telling the story, cause there actually is a lot of potential with certain things, but god it’s all talk talk talk and it spells everything out and it’s so uninteresting. Especially the characters. I hope if Chaos gets properly brought back, they try to present the story in a similar way to how it was in Black Ops 4.
Agreed. This cutscene is essentially just one big exposition dump, how interesting 🙄. It’s as if the treyarch writers have never heard of the phrase “show don’t tell”.
@@lloydstressman3130its not a hard rule. Sometimes you need characters to sit/stand around and talk to move the plot around. How would you have preferred for this info to be delivered to the player?

I feel as if every single part of Dark Aether has been ‘telling you what is happening and how the characters feel right now’ without any slight hint at nuance or anything of the sort. The more this story goes on the more it feels like modern CoD stories (unbelievably bad). Zombies is supposed to be the artistic reprieve from that.
I hope he makes a video talking more about Krafft and Vanguard Zombies might tie in because I completely skipped that game thinking it wouldn't ever be relevant.
I wish that Richthofen is constantly plagued with dreams/visions of the aether story line, and his goal is to find and reunite with this universe’s versions of those who he sees in his dreams……reuniting with Takeo, Dempsey, and Nikolai…. Probably won’t happen because Takeo VA is retired…. But a man can hope!
I think your playing into the whole idea that treyarch is speaking to old fans in this cutscene, I think the gameplay is great but the EE's are lackluster at best and that's what i personally miss from the old black ops storylines you had to actually figure shit out (both maps were solved way too fast imo) i feel people miss that feeling of uncovering an actual story, i will admit seeing chaos artifact was cool but it still seems like trick to reel people in only to be let down again
But what Treyarch see’s is people actually bothering to do EE’s these days. And that’s what they’d prefer to focus on. The high rounds are still there if you want them. The EE’s are still there on the side if you’d rather do that. Do what you want, let others do what they want. If you want EE’s like you’d find in BO3, Go play BO3. It’s still super easily accessible currently. Abuse that.

I'm not sure how I feel about this yet. I'm one of those rare people that actually really liked and was interested in the Chaos story back during bo4, but idk about it coming back within the dark aether storyline. Ik we got some Easter eggs and references of Chaos in the Vanguard Zombies, but it is now becoming a key feature within the storyline. Chaos was Blundells baby, and I know Blundell doesn't own the Chaos story or any of the elements within it, but it just feels weird rn seeing it continue on without his guidance and expertise.
@majorcarver3504 that is true, but the story and quests have taken a bit of a nose dive since Blundell left. Blundell was the man who made almost every single cipher in the game. We also know Blundell was super hands on with creating the easter eggs. Zombies lost something with him. It lost its sense of Wonder and adventure. Not to say the mode is bad now, but it's very different than what it was from bo2-bo4 (prime blundell years). He was the director of zombies after all. Craig may be a lead writer, but he's more or less one of many cooks in the kitchen. Blundell was the head chef.
Craig Houston was the writer not Blundell. And Craig Houston is writing this. He wrote the chaos and Arther story and he is still writing the dark Aether story. They are all HIS babies. Blundell has influence. But he was not a writer like Craig is
My main gripe is Avalon being mentioned, I hope map 1 isn't outbreak. And zombies being canon to campaign means we won't get the crazy shit like Medusa, time travel, dragons, etc because they're keeping it semigrounded :/
I understand that but god I would love to see them revisit mythology and folk lore again. Those were some of my favorite maps, the most original ones we’ve gotten since then honestly.
my theory is that they are going to make the entire chaos story universe just take place within the dark aether story universe. They're going to make it so they were never two separate universes at all. This would mean at the end of Tag Der Toten, we technically sent Eddie & Sam into the Chaos universe. I imagine later down the line we'll learn more about maybe how Prima Materia & Aetherium are connected. My guess is that they are going to be two different manifestations of the same thing, or something along those lines.
With them bringing in chaos I felt i should note that maya kind of looks like Scarlett, and Strauss kind of looks like Shaw. It’s definitely a stretch but what if they are alternate versions of those characters.
Im really curious as to when an Aether character is going to finally show up in this story, we all know Victis is alive and will return at some point. Arent the Shadow Man AND Doctor Monty and all keepers/apothicons just straight up here too? what even was the goal in Tag der toten if we just brought those with us too though, but it doesnt seem like they were killed or "left behind"
Map was cool story was mid. And I think its due to us being shown whats happening instead of us as the characters exploring thru the story via gameplay. Just my opinion tho, Terminus really fun in slaying wise 😎🔥
I just finished the easter egg and I was MIND BLOWN by the mention of the Chaos story artifact and I actually love it! I didn't play much of the chaos story but I think didn't think it was bad and I'm excited to see how treyarch is going to make this fit into the dark aether story
i believe that this is the best thing that they can do for the story, it gives the story more depth and connects the old style of trayarch's story telling to their new style and i think i like it.
The direction that they're taking with the story is so interesting. A lot of people disliked Chaos because it wasn't Aether, but I did enjoy it on it's own as a separate storyline in BO4. Excited to see what happens next
Avalon is also where the Pantheon is based out of. Atleast that's what Jane Harrow says. There's also a whole mission about the bio weapon (literal zombies in campaign lol), but it never says exactly what it is. It could be connected to this story in some way.
idk if people have already said this, but shaw from chaos is def straus's uncle or relative and that is why he is so upset about alchemy, and one of shaws names is uncle shaw.
It does bring up a question that Chaos never answers. Why happened to the artifacts after the trial is finished? The artifact pictured is the Odin Artifact. We see the Odin Artifact explode, but was then reformed perfectly fine. The last time we saw the Odin Artifact was when the Chaos crew placed it in the iceberg. The Danu and Ra artifacts were never seen again. The Zeus artifact was supposedly still in the crew’s possession at the end of Ancient Evil.
It’ll be interesting to see if “Pantheon” gets involved in the zombies storyline since they were such a big story point in the campaign and now (most likely) warzone. I wouldn’t be surprised.

Prima Materia might be the reason Krafft is still alive in the 90s
Or possibly his connection to the dark aether. Maybe he's bonded(?) with one of the artifacts still and that kept him alive? Maybe he time travelled?
Maybe one of the Dark Aether entities is keeping him alive? They didn't get killed during the Archon right? I don't remember because I was struggling to care about the storyline during vanguard. Played the hell out of Shi no numa tho. Gotta grind levels somehow 😅

I really hope with Chaos now being associated we start seeing mythological based stuff again, even in just small amounts. Also would be nice to see more information on the ending of ancient evil and the chaos characters
No. it’s zombies not a game about cryptics, although bo4 did a great job balancing it out I doubt the new studio now will be able to pull off half of what they did in bo4.
@@ii_wav_ii3629 I don't care either way if they do cryptids again, but I'd definitely like to see more mythology based locations. The underground city of Delphi was a cool area, and there's lots of cool/creepy aesthetics they can pull from other myths.

Ngl even with the knowledge in mind that Chaos was never supposed to be connected, when I saw the Sentinel Artifact I legit popped off lol

11:00 maybe that's you, I'm absolutely ecstatic that Chaos and Dark Aether are connected.
Also, we kinda knew this would happen since Vanguard, though I can't blame you for not knowing since you played it like once.
It also introduces A LOT of cool canon, such as Mjolnir in BO2's campaign. That could damn well be canon now because of Chaos.
What's Vanguard?
further representing chaos is bitter sweet since that never got the closure it needed and doing all this makes that more and more likely.
personally i think ascension would be a cool map for them to revisit with this crew, since thats were weaver lost his eye in Bo1
Thats the real sam manipulating the real world afaik. The A.I. is just making calculated predictions
@@lileofficial4273 here's my theory, if I remember in Forsaken, Samantha sacrifices herself to contain the Forsaken right. He’s not dead. If she is contained with the Forsaken, are we sure she's fully sane anymore?
@@lileofficial4273
Everyone was calling her “Sam” and they even said that “something is wrong with Sam.” On top of this, she was some kind of machine.
1. Everyone was calling her Sam in the liberty falls cutscene. They named the AI “Sam” when her real full name is Samantha. This is just the first sign that AI Sam did that.
2. They were saying “something is wrong with Sam” as if Sam was a project they were working on or something. So, that’s another sign that this is in fact the AI they are talking about.
3. She was a literal machine…
This is what I’m thinking. I think the real Sam corrupted the AI Sam and now she’s manipulating weavers team to get her the sentinel artifact. That’s why the outbreaks happened as soon as they broke out. Why does she want the artifact? Who knows. To free herself from the dark aether or something.

And he’s also not a part of Treyarch anymore. So he doesn’t have creative control.
That’s like saying “Todd Howard said the next game will work”
Aether *is* Dark Aether. 😂 there is no real separation. One universe ended and birthed the next with two remaining souls surviving.
Maya and Nathan little storyline kinda brings back to me memories from "the first Reich" in WWll zombies
With all, the brother and sister thing
I love this "new" crew. I'm happy they are able to be fleshed out more. Strauss is still my favourite while Carver is my least favourite.
Well well well
People keep saying Samantha is lying to our crew, cause she captured richtoften.

Nathan ? like the hot dog guy? can’t wait to see how the dlc story goes, so happy chaos is back , great vid :)
can't help but wonder if by trying to bring his son samuel back, things will somehow get complicated and spit out stuhlinger instead. richtofen and stuhlinger were heavily connected in the original timeline after all, so its maybe not out of the realm of possibility for the dark aether or sentinel artifact or whatever richtofen ends up using, to pick up on his connection to victis samuel over son samuel.
stuhlinger had alluded to being in contact with more richtofens than just ultimis or primis if i remember right. some quote about the "other other richtofen" i believe?
if that came to be, it'd be interesting if richtofen ACTUALLY thought stuhlinger was his son too, believing he had just been aged up to 50/60/however old stuhlinger is due to some dark aether time manipulation. could see the two teaming up as part of a 4 man crew in a future map and having some sort of weird father/son dynamic while stuhlinger is just confused out of his mind
in reality, its not something i expect to happen, but it'd be interesting if richtofen's son being named samuel turned out to be more than just a throwaway homage to stuhlinger
i would love a “complete cod zombies storyline” from you. You explain these lores so well 🙏🏽🙏🏽
Honestly, bringing in Chaos is the best thing the devs could do to continue the Dark Aether story.

With the intro of liberty falls, it could be suggested that richtofen was taken either to the dark aether OR Avalon to seek the sentinel artifact by SAM. This AI isn’t benevolent because there’s no way it could’ve caused the outbreak without a plan it’s own

I love that chaos is now cannon to the story. My nostalgia receptors would be so happy if we get to see victus next somewhere in the dark ether.
The chaos storyline now being canon is just gojng to make things wacky now will be interesting to see how they write it in
I assume they added because it genuinely ends in a cliff hanger and the current story has definitely been lacking to say the least b06 looks promising but still some things that could be better

@@PalindroneV2 Exposition isn’t always a bad thing, it just depends on how it gets presented.
Just bring back the Primis crew thats all we need
I wish that Richthofen is constantly plagued with dreams/visions of the aether story line, and his goal is to find and reunite with this universe’s versions of those who he sees in his dreams……reuniting with Takeo, Dempsey, and Nikolai…. Probably won’t happen because Takeo VA is retired…. But a man can hope!
I think your playing into the whole idea that treyarch is speaking to old fans in this cutscene, I think the gameplay is great but the EE's are lackluster at best and that's what i personally miss from the old black ops storylines you had to actually figure shit out (both maps were solved way too fast imo)
i feel people miss that feeling of uncovering an actual story, i will admit seeing chaos artifact was cool but it still seems like trick to reel people in only to be let down again
Abuse that.

Ravonov is probaly doing it for his Daughter that got trapped in the dark aether
The lead writer Craig Houston is still there. It was his baby too.
Ravenov also looks like Bruno and at the very least Weaver would sort of act like Diego, interesting if they get out Gray and Carver
People asked for character quotes and less physical intel like Cold War. So they listened to exactly what we wanted
I just finished the easter egg and I was MIND BLOWN by the mention of the Chaos story artifact and I actually love it! I didn't play much of the chaos story but I think didn't think it was bad and I'm excited to see how treyarch is going to make this fit into the dark aether story
But they HAD to mention Avalon🤦♂️ I don't care about Warzone, I don't want to play Warzone, please stop mentioning Warzone lol
i believe that this is the best thing that they can do for the story, it gives the story more depth and connects the old style of trayarch's story telling to their new style and i think i like it.
I hope this eventually goes somewhere because so far this story telling is ass. The terminus intro is the cringiest zombies content we’ve ever had
It’s so nice hearing the dialog thru character quotes now! SO SO good!
Black ops 6 zombies is already top 5 zombies game. And we haven’t even had DLC 1 yet.

idk if people have already said this, but shaw from chaos is def straus's uncle or relative and that is why he is so upset about alchemy, and one of shaws names is uncle shaw.
Strauss' whole reaction is the zombies community seeing the chaos story returning
