8 inch subs have come such a long way in the past 10-20 years! In high school you rarely saw them as it was all 10's, 12's, and 15's. Now we have beefy little 6.5's and 8's that can pound. Great video again Parker.

The difference with small subs you need a lot of power. Where as you can’t get a 12 on 500 watts and bump. To get the same outcome you need triple the power. Yeah and that means you need more stuff to see it work.

It was much cheaper and easier to just get larger subs so that you could make the most of the modest amps of the day. But with today’s inexpensive class D amps that can easily produce THOUSANDS of watts, the lower efficiency of smaller subs is less of a problem.
The meso 8" is a legendary sub. I love the way they look. I could definitely use it to save space in the car. Atm I'm running two Sundown Sav3 8"s in a ground shaker box tuned at 37hz per chamber. It's pretty violent for two 8"s. But if I won one of these I'd pull the SA 8"s out n run the meso for a bit considering we are going to the beach soon would be nice to be able to just swap em out n go from dual 8"s to a single 8" ect

800rms a piece on 8” is crazy. That’s cheaper 15” sub territory. To actually push those you probably need a 2000.1 mono block wired at 2 ohm. And upgrade the battery

I bought 2 of these a few months ago for my daughter's car, I have not put them in her car yet, but I put them in my car on an Orion HCCA 11,000.1 and they are amazing! I can't wait to put them in her car!
My 8" meso died after a couple years. I still have my box and miss it. They have been out of the recone kits forever. It would be sweet to hear that box going again.

For me i have had a single DD508 sub do a 143.5 @ 43hz on roughly 1200rms on the glass in a vehicle not much smaller in cabin space, i'm anywhere from 1.5db to 3db higher in the kick so in reality i managed 145db. Main difference is that i used 6th order.
@@loganmilam4065 Also for reference i was 0.3db less at the same power & frequency with a SA-8, that's almost 6db louder than Parker achieved with his on more power, i was maxed for power so there may have been more in them.

I remember him starting out selling sound deadening out of his garage, and then moving into amplifiers and subs, with Audio Technix, before it became CT Sounds. I'm glad his father and brother are carrying on, his products. Always solid equipment, at decent prices. Good video.

Thilo at TC did shady shit towards the end, Coleman did some shady shit with Kim overseas in the beginning, and companies chose to warranty or not warranty their products. A warranty means nothing, it's just printed for liability reasons. 90% of the time, you're out of pocket, not the company. Same shit can be said for JP as there are loads of bad reviews online. Same with Kevin at Skar, and so forth. I did alot of business with Thilo and never did bad business, same with Kevin at Skar. Every company, in every walk of products, has done shady shit, bad business and failed to warranty their products. That's life, and you take the good with the bad. I speak from MY personal experiences over the years...not for everyone else. Your opinion of someone, Is just your own.

CTSounds equipment is by far the best for the price. I got rid of my pioneers for a pair of their bio 15s and I can't keep a rearview mirror on my windshield now.

Crazy how loud and low 8’s can get nowadays. When I got my first system in like 99-00 you never would of imagined 8’s doing anything like they do now.

Kinda. BUT, in 1991-1992 we were putting 8" subs in bandpass boxes making incredible bass.

I love my AT 1400 its been very reliable even when I didn't have a voltage regulator and my voltage would drop low.
