I had the privilege of serving with Bill for a couple of years in his parent Regiment and I can attest to his professionalism as a soldier and his unwavering loyalty to those he considers friends. A hard man with a great sense of humour and for me and many others, an inspiration.
Thanks for your service
And for others an absolute rigid twat. Cap badge over your left eye, bull your boots, no smocks on camp, get your sidies up…. Bloke was responsible for more lads leaving the regiment that the Taliban 😂

I felt so stuck in my life. Losing my job. A child to support. Depression. Fear fear fear. Not knowing where the next day's food will come from. This video inspired me to deal with my situation but to change it. I am taking back my power. No more depression. I am taking charge. I will push forward looking for work every day for 8 hours. I will get a job. Yes yes, yes

Don't neglect to 1 invest in yourself, try to self teach a marketable skill whether it's as simple as typing or cleaning or driving delivery. Take 30-60 minutes each day and practice to make yourself better. 2 volunteer, around town or at local businesses, offer to give them one day a week in exchange for training and references, even if they can't hire you direct. Build a network of people who trust you, so when an opportunity comes up, they will refer YOU to a job that you never would have known about otherwise.
💯
Release the beastttt!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Fuck yeah! You got this!
I am ex-army, in a technical regiment and I’m almost 77 and this video has reminded me that I am reasonably fit and healthy and I need to try to start enjoying life again. I know this is a cliche, but I WILL START TOMORROW. Excellent motivational speech, thank you very much Sir.
My grandad never talked about the war but we learnt of his bravery many yrs after his death. R.I.P Eddie Byrd 2nd SAS. Thank you for your bravery 💚👍

Great respect to your grandad my uncles were the same one lost his arm in Normandy they never once mentioned their experience just got on with life ......different people back then strong willed
Respect to your Uncles too for their courage, bravery and sacrifices. And a big old thank you to those serving today who keep us safe from harm 🙏

@@jodyenright3050 My oldest son is a Black Hawk pilot. He did a tour in Kosovo about two years ago. There was an odd moment when his Georgia National Guard unit hosted a soccer (sorry, football) match against a team from Serbia that was flown in by the Ohio National Guard. He got to meet some British and Gurkha troops while he was there. Thankfully, everything was peaceful for the time being. Joining the National Guard after 9-11 is almost like being in the regular army.

I lost my brother in a motorbike accident, I was 18 he was 21. I watched it happen and held him while he struggled to breath waiting for a medic heli to land in the middle of our street, I had to ring my mom and then my dad and explain what had happened, my brother died 2 days later in hospital and it ripped me and my whole family apart. A job, friends, money, the future.. meant nothing to me I’m 26 now and that day changed me forever. It sure if I’m writing this for you to read or for my self :( miss my big bro so much man
@ Brad, dont be to scared to ask for help, we sought help and found (for me at least) it was a huge weight off my mind just talking to someone and not being judged, you have been through a trauma don't carry it around by yourself.

Sometimes writing can be healing for us. Life breaks us down and truthfully? Some things don't happen for a reason or there isn't a lesson to learn, so don't let anyone tell you that about your situation. Grief comes in waves and is equal to the love we hold for the one lost. If it helps you, write your feelings out on paper. Take care Brad ❤
I love what he said - “I’m going to do it because I can - there will come a day when I can’t”. I have always felt this way about fitness -health - working etc. there will come a time when I don’t have this so enjoy it while I can.
I left the British Army in 1978. I was a Radio Tech. Not the elite SAS. Then I found out that my next posting, would been to ‘support ‘ them. I have nothing but total admiration for these men. They are in an absolute class of their own. They are the best of the best!!!
Reading the comment section it shows how proud a lot of people are about the achievements of this great man. Also there are a lot of other men who are struggling with their own battles, I wish you all the best of luck and hope you come out of the other side the better for your battle.
You could watch this man talk a million times and still want to listen again.
A reminder that there’s nothing glamorous or romantic about war. But we need those warriors who are willing to fight the good fight. Love and blessings to all the our service men and service women. Especially our fallen warriors.
These are the kinds of guys that the extremes of human fitness and grit can achieve. Not the bulging biceps, popping nerves and washboard abs that are sold as the epitome of human fitness. Respect for him and all the SFs of the world.
Discipline, focus, hard work. No short cuts or drugs.
Thank you for reminding me....
I had almost forgotten about Moving forward.

Great words, I lost my mum a year yesterday, that's the passage of life and she's with dad now, I'm now on medication to kill the sadness a little, they help but as Mark says get out of the pity party, deal with the aches and pains and move forward, live your best life....peace and love ✌🏻
You were right first time, she is with your dad now! So you live your life now and remember the love and joy that created you! You owe that to them, and they like most parents would expect you to mourn a little, but live a heck of a lot! Their love never goes away, never! Let the sadness go! Remember the joy and live the very best you can, because it's all a very precious gift. Peace and love to you. You will be alright. When you feel sad, just remember the joy! XXX.
@@gunner678 Thank you for those kind words Matthew, I'm in a bit better place since my original comment, feeling much stronger with lots of help from my girlfriend and a happy pill, your wonderful reply just sums it up entirely and I cant really add to it other than to say thank you and take care my friend.
These spoken words are pure gold, as a Veteran myself, i can feel them completely.
Thank you Billy. You make me think and thank my war veteran Dad every day for his service and for bringing up three little girls on his own after mum passed away at a very young age. Brilliant. I served 15 years in the RN Submarine Service. Met some SBS guys ...........I'm 65 now ......would do it all again in a heartbeat.
Great stuff Mark, you did it , most of us wish we could do what you did. I’m no ex army guy, but I think the whole of the UK are proud of our special forces .
SAS was the start of special forces from the USA. Their SAS helped train the early special forces for the USA. I was stationed in Berlin Germany in my army days. 1976 to 1979 at mcNair barracks. It was long ago I think the unit I was in was 4th bn 6th infantry. Don't remember all anymore. We had war games against the royal Marines. They were tough and in shape. They could run up mountains with full ruck sack and seem to never tire. The French also had war games with us and they were pretty much useless as soldiers. We did not even waste our time with them 8nstead trained with the royal Marines in our war games. Long ago. Since that time I spent 7 years in combat zones in iraq and 1 year in Afghanistan to get combat zone pay and overseas allowance. 8 years total. Met a girl and foolishly lost my house and everything. At 63 I'm retired on a small social security pension. The social security office lost 4 years of my earnings in Iraq and they said they would fix it they never did. Retired in southeast Asia where I can afford to eat and rent a place. Would have preferred to stay in USA but my monthly income is to small I would be homeless. Live in small 1 room place that has electric and running water and private. Life is ok.
That’s rough man, same position for a lot of western young people: retire in SE Asia or work until you drop
The part about his relationship with his father....... got me so choked up..... I'm proud of you dad u r a man's man too rest in peace
Billy you are truly an inspiration. England needs people like you. Very proud people like you exist in this country. Many thanks

I remember watching my mum die of cancer over the 6 months she had left. For couple of years it changed the person I was, very withdrawn and wishing I could see my mum again. Realising she wasn’t coming back I push myself in my career from carpenter, site manager and now project manager. Indeed. Well said.
So much respect for Mark’s mindset. I served 12 years in the British Army infantry. My conflict was Banner. 4 tours. You did want to be in the thick of it. To be challenged and assessed. This didn’t mean I hated republicans. Not at all. I was a professional soldier. Obviously at a much lower level of intensity. COP was my peak. Hard routine in wet cold Fermanagh then South Armagh. I’ll never forget it. The sheer buzz. I’m 63 today. I miss it everyday. I’m fit. I tab. I mountain bike. But nothing substitutes putting yourself in harms way. Again, at my low level. But I miss it. I’ll add that I was physically abused by father. Evil stuff. The army gave me everything. I was told: give us 100% we’ll give you the world. Give us 99% you get nothing. Never had better terms and conditions. Billy is such an inspiration. He reminds me that at my level, I did my bit and put myself in the way of it.
I can fully agree, fought myself out of an nine year long depression, thought to myself one day, this is rock bottem, it does not get worse then this, it can only improve, now five years later i am doing better than ever, courage is moving forward.
You are a fighter !
Good stuff, respect
As a young troop commander leading my soldiers on a combat fitness test, complete with MANPADS and the usual kit (we passed the load up and down the lines to take our fair share), I was shocked to find tabbing along just behind and to the side of me General Peter DLB our new GOC. He drew up alongside me, where we continued to converse for about ten minutes (still doubling along). Then the general dropped a gear and pulled ahead of us at ever increasing speed, with his staff in tow, to catch up with the troop half a kilometre ahead of us. Without doubt, to man, we all moved quicker and felt several inches taller. A very quiet but inspiring man.
Prove it ?

Thank you Mark and the Mulligan Brothers for this outstanding work. I watched the full interview which was off the scale, and now to have found a summary of the key elements that resonated with me is brilliant. To be honest, this should be shown in schools/colleges to start to build back both self-esteem and self-discipline into students which has been eroded over the last 30 years through a mix of policy and technology such as social media.

Life is tough, so you have to be tougher. I ruptured the base of my spine 3 years ago, all nerves below the waist are now dead, no feeling except my little toes. My surgeon told me after he’d operated that I’d probably never walk again, certainly after the next three months I’d be paralysed. I listened to him. Nodded. Thanked him. The day I was released, I walked 12 steps. The day after, a mile. That took over an hour, but I did it. I walked day after day after day, stumbling and panicking but never stopping. Then lockdown hit, I walked further, I got stronger and faster and I never stopped. Now, I walk 12 miles a day, I cycle 10, I’ve started stretching my upper body more and more to gain more strength and I’m never going to quit. I still can’t feel my legs, and I never will, but I proved my surgeon wrong. I can walk. Not in spite of my nerve damage, but because of it. I listen to my footsteps, I look for objects that might trip me, I feel the ground as it vibrates up to my chest. I’m stronger now than I ever have been, and if I can do this, then just imagine what you can accomplish with a cold, or not enough money. Don’t let your shortcomings rule you future

What an amazing man ....our vets deserve more than what they have . Our governments need to do more for them.
I'm only a civilian, but I thank you and those who helped produce this video (down to the background music.) Absolutely inspirational.
Thank you.
I feel blessed to live in the same time frame as Billy. He's got me over a few upsets just by listening to him, keeping my head just about over water. Unfortunately going to need therapy, and adjust a few things in life. And develop some self respect and love but... a big Thank you to Billingham
Thank you for your service and all the inspiration you spread to us all!
Live in the now there is no use looking back or thinking about the future, live in your now!
