Any reprise of the Strehler Nozze di Figaro has to be a major event. And in 2010, thirty-seven years after its première, the work met with a fresh triumph at the Opéra Bastille, featuring a new generation of performers: Ludovic Tézier (Count Almaviva), Barbara Frittoli (Countess Almaviva), Ekaterina Siurina (Susanna), Luca Pisaroni (Figaro) et Karine Deshayes (Cherubino).
As musical director Philippe Jordan reveals the Orchestra and Chorus of the Opéra National de Paris at the height of their powers.
And as a bonus: an interview with Humbert Camerlo, who worked for many years with Giorgio Strehler and was the stage director for this reprise.

My best conte di Almaviva forever
He is my favorite count! I was lucky enough to see him twice at the Met in this role in 2009. I can't help rooting for him a little haha, though Suzanna deserves only the best.
He's such an amazing singer, and I feel like nobleman roles are a good fit for him, he really has that aristocratic look.
Agreed! He has a presence in his voice and demeanor.
His face is reminding me Mozart's dad
Fruity and warm strong baritone. Lovely flow and mix of firm sound never becoming croony or stupidly woody like so many other do. Gorgeous sound here.
Perfect. The best rendition of this aria I have ever heard.
Joshua Hopkins sings a good one too 😍
@@faamanufuimaono7404 Thank you! I did not know him, and he is good too.
